I like the idea of planning/executing moves. It was fun trying to figure out those puzzles. And btw the eye blinking is a nice detail :D
if you decide to develop further on the game, you could maybe consider giving the player the ability to change the speed of the game (e.g. "normal" and "fast"), so the impatient player can choose to have less wait-time when executing their moves :) could be a menu setting for example

Developer

Thanks for noticing the blinking detail :)  I helps to bring the placeholder art to life a little more.  I'm definitely going to work on ways to speed up the move execution.

It sure does :)

Such a simple concept yet interesting.
The UI can be improved a lot.
I would love to work on this game and release a android and IOS build.
Let's connect on discord - nerdPoint#4763
Do play our game as well.
Thank You

I liked it a lot! It is a simple but very creative concept! And it was fun to play!

Some of the colleagues mentioned that a "undo selection" would be nice, and I agree! I made a "mistake" in a move and than tried to do an opposite move (like, I had 3 right, but needed only 2, so I added 1 left), but it didn't really got me back to the place I needed and the sequence failed. If these "reverse" moves were to be normalized, than the "undo selection" would not be necessary... But I believe that the undo is the easier take on the problem!

Very well done!

Keep up the great work!

Cheers!

Thanks for playing!  I'm working on a new version that I will publish after the jam voting period ends that includes the Undo feature.

This was fun and very original! I found it quite intuitive as well. Yes, you don't really know how many steps it will take the first time, but once you pass the first level, it's not too hard to guess. Making it a bit faster and improving the visuals (especially for the character) would be great! Also, being able to clear your input before running the game would be cool. As a side comment, if you press an invalid combination of keys (pressed A + D at the same time by mistake), the default UI's "New Text" label appears. Needs some polish and more exploration of the mechanics, but the concept is really cool!!

Thanks for playing!  I'm working on a new version that I'll publish after the voting period ends that will make the moves run a little faster.

Great concept, first runs are difficult but after a while it goes well

Nice game! This was fun to play.  I enjoyed watching the player fall off the edge when you overshoot the exit.  Its a clever idea for a game.  It took me a bit to get used to because there was no indication of how far each step would go across the level.  I also wish you could change your input.  If you realize you put in a wrong move, that you could go back and change it.  Otherwise you have to watch as he goes and does the level wrong before you have to put it all back in again.  But otherwise I really enjoyed it.  I would have kept playing if there were more levels.

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I think the controls UI needs some work because you can press space once you've started moving to cancel the current set of moves and reset back to the start.  But, I think you're talking about being able to cancel the sequence before even starting.  Which is a great idea, so I'll definitely be adding that feature in.  As well as a lot more levels :)

Good concept. Entertaining

Loved the idea,  i wanted to keep playing !

Thanks!  With so much positive feedback on this project I plan on more development instead of just dropping it like I do with all my other prototype projects :)

great!

The Idea is great. wow!

This puzzle game was very fun. It let's you experiment to see how the player move, get an intuition, and you're able to execute instructions. It gave me the same feeling I get when I'm coding(I think this was probably your inspiration) and it's really cool. The sfx for moving kept the suspense and is very satisfying simultaneously.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback.  I wish I could say that is where I got my inspiration from, but I just thought "hey, wouldn't it be cool if made a game where you had to plan your moves before you make them".

This game is so original like LegenGamer sade you might be onto something here! Just fine tune the mechanics, add some more art work and some sounds! One thing I noticed was that I could pretty much just put one movement press space and then while it was moving I could keep putting the orders there. Not sure if that was the idea, but it made the game really simple. I would take that away and just keep it as a puzzle that you have to think ahead before moving and then you could speed up the movement, so it went it faster. Add some animation and speed so that the player is like running and jumping :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback.  I was getting a little tired of the game towards the end of the jam and started to think it wasn't that good.  That's why the art for the background, platforms and target got a little upgrade, but the player stayed using my default player placeholder  But with lots of people saying they how much they liked the idea it's given me new motivation to keep this project alive.

The mechanic of adding moves after pressing space wasn't intended, I just never thought to stop checking for inputs after the sequence is started.

Submitted

Please do continue with this, just polish it and focus on making the core mechanic better! Also yeah take the input off after pressing space!

This could even work on Mobile phones, where this kind of games are more popular nowadays puzzles/etc. You could just have nice simple UI with different movement buttons/jump.

As I said I could easily see this become very popular!

I really think your onto something here, have not seen something like this before. Loved the idea! great job

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.  Glad you liked it!

I really feel that we need games like that one, puzzles are always engaging! The only recommendation - add the ability to speed up time, or maybe just speed up the whole game by yourself. Doing the same thing over and over with such a low speed might be devastating. But overall, I liked the mechanics and the fact that I can add more steps in the process. Great one!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.  I guess with the theme being "Time" I should have added the option to speed up time to use the theme twice :)

Yes  i think you need to speed up the execution of the moves a bit felt a bit slow .  Love the mechanic  and i kept playing  to the end. With some work  you could have a cool game . Well done

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'll see what I can do with the speed of the execution and try to make it a little faster while still being able to see how far one move takes you.

I like this game mechanic!

I think the execution felt a bit slow, maybe if your moves were implemented faster it would speed up the gameplay. A feature to delete one of you planned moves could be quite nice.

One last thing, hitting ESC brings up an empty overlay that blocks out the game view.

Well done on the project though!

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I'll add the delete feature to my list and hopefully get that added in the future.  The ESC thing is left over from the project originally being a desktop application and pressing that key would exit the game.  I switched over to a web project thinking more people would play if they didn't have to download the game first, but forgot to remove the quit function.

Oh I see, yeah it's quite a strange situation, more people are likely to play in-browser, just because of ease of access. Good job though!

that's a pretty cool mechanic. I have to say, it would've been friendlier to play if you had some sort of grid as a guide. As it stands, it's more of a guessing game of how many steps you need to take rather than planning out a strategic course of action. I do think there's tons of potential though!
