very dumb and very fun, special mention for the classic features skinned in your fantasy, like the rotten-ness of the tongue as a rank. Also you managed to get a very cool polish, congrats! My only negative feedback is that the core gameplay itself has little to do with the action of looking for one's tongue in a cat's mouth... even if the dank setting (and the character's face dancing was hilarious) makes it very fun in the end. I guess you didn't want to stick too strictly to the theme as it could have been also quite boring! Congrats :)
Definitely needs some volume options (which, relatable) but as the owner of a cat who is an a hole, this game is a mood!
Really enjoyed the game, with the shotgun I was even able to get a "fresh" result xD.
It took me a while and lots of fails to understand that I couldn't just shoot at my leisure, once I did then I started waiting for the ammo boxes to drop. One question, what were the black liquid bottles supposed to be, I didn't quite understand why they also gave me ammo.
One thing that I think you could improve is by giving the player some feedback of when the shots hit the cat, because most of the time you're looking at the cat not at the counter so I couldn't tell when I had hit him or not, maybe a screenshake or some particle system or something that would let me know that the shot hit.
But overall it was really good! The audio and music were amazing, especially when it really starts going, the whole theme was super funny, even the starting intro was very charming!
in the tutorial you can see the name of the black bottle-“gunpowder jello”
in the beginning it was called just”ink” at that stage it didn’t give any ammo, but then I changed it because I realized it was too easy to just not shoot it.so I wanted to add some benefit for shooting these by it giving ammo.so yea the sprite design doesn’t perfectly match the “gunpowder jello “ vibe ,
which means that without seeing the name in the tutorial it’s kinda hard to understand why it gives ammo.
But yea, it would’ve probably be a good idea to implement more feedback to the player.
Thank you for the amazing feedback btw!.
Fun game :) The best I've managed to get currently is 'meh', but I'm hoping I'll be able to beat it! I like the sound and art. It would be nice if there was a way to skip the intro when coming back to the game to replay, but that's super minor
haha great idea. I'd love to see this taken further with better graphics and an option to play with a proper old school light gun. I could imagine blasting away at cats in the arcade.
Cat got my tongue but I got bullets for him!
I like that you took the cliché constraint literally for the most absurd result :D It's a funny little game, thanks for making it :)
Bonus: here's a cat I designed for my game (that I ended up not using), I'm sure it would get along well with yours :P
This was fun! loved when the music hits and your just aiming away, had me laughing. would be cool see developed further
A fun little game! I liked the concept and actually laughed out loud when after the cat steals your tongue it tells you to select your gun. Music also slaps.
Wish there was some visual feedback for when you hit the cat, like flashing red or something
