Really nice set of colors! Loved the chip tune music, too :) Nice work.

Developer

Thank you! I hope you enjoyed playing it.

I love the 8-bit theme in the music and visuals, and the butterflies were so beautiful. It was so pretty seeing them flutter around you, although when the first one appeared a spent a while trying to catch and interact with one haha. Loved the chill vibes, a great game overall!!

Developer(+1)

I love the catching butterfly idea! I wish we have thought of it earlier. Thank you for playing!

One of the most beatiful games in the jam, good job!

Developer

Thank you! We hope you liked it.

Really well made i love the idea of the map moving around you very interesting, I honestly think this might be one of the more unique submissions so far!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words. I hope you enjoyed the game!

Really well done! Great visuals, the song was beautiful and I loved the story telling.

Developer

Thank you! We wanted to focus on the player experience for this game, and we are glad that you liked it!

That was a very cute game. Love the music and the overall chill vibes. The butterfly graphics are also very pretty, and it was cool seeing more of them fly around as you progress through the game. I also really enjoyed the dialogue, it's as if I'm playing with another person as I'm figuring out the mazes.

It's actually pretty hard for me to think of something to improve on here. I guess maybe mention that you can jump repeatedly on the bubble columns? At first I thought you only had one jump before I tried spamming it.

Great job on the game, I enjoyed it a lot. Super charming and relaxing.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I am glad that you enjoyed the atmosphere we created. Thank you for the suggestion as well. A few others also pointed out that the game lack some explanations. We will keep that in mind in the future!

I’m always amazed with the content that is possible to produce with tico-80 and others fantsy consoles. Great work here!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I have been playing around with making 3D stuff in TIC-80 and thought it would be nice to use it for this jam. Fantasy consoles have their own limitations, but they are very fun to work with!

Shockingly well executed premise for such a simple yet great game. I really had fun with this one and can see a lot of potential for future expansion. Honestly this is one of the most charming games I've ever met. 5 minutes in, the starting question the machine which asks a small price, just a coin, to create a butterfly tells me, you can move left or right, or just enjoy the music. There are parts where from the very perspective puzzles become more difficult, but I promise, when you adjust, you'll feel encapsulated by this peaceful pocket universe.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We enjoyed creating the world and making it feel alive and I hope you do exploring it too! I agree the perspective can be a little disorienting partly because we don't have shadows to work with. We will keep that in mind when making future games!

Very fresh experience to me. It took me a while to understand the moving mechanic. Very interesting.

Developer

Thank you! We wanted to experiment with unique mechanics such as moving in 3D space using only three buttons and this is what we came up with. I hope you liked it!

Neat concept. I like the rotating isometry, I think it adds a lot to keeping the platforming fresh and unique. I like the music and the artwork as well. Very nice polish.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We love the isometry-style games but wanted to innovate on that. Our isometry is done using 3D and defining the voxel such that the projection looks exactly like in isometry when viewed at a certain angle. Hope you enjoyed the game!

Love the art of the game but the music was a little harsh. If there was a way to turn it down it would be nice.

Developer

Thank you for your review. I agree that the music is not for everyone, and in hindsight, I should have implemented a volume setting. We will keep that in mind in the future!

Submitted(+2)

love the feel you have created with this. The 8-bit music is beautiful and pixel art style works so well together.
I've had the tune stuck in my head for at least a day now :) May I ask what software was used to create the music?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the game. The music is made using TIC-80’s internal music editor. @starling did a phenomenal job composing the music despite being her first time using the software!

Developer(+2)

oh thank you so much!! i had a lot of fun using tic80 for this and it's pretty accessible as a tool, would recommend trying it out if you're interested in trying out 8-bit music creation :D
