A very solid platform game, with an interesting twist!
The main mechanic, that sets this game apart from the other platform games, is the skating mechanic. Upon pressing X, or tapping either left or right arrow keys, the character will begin to skate on the ground. That skating mechanic, requires a lot of skill, but once mastered, it can be really fun and thrilling to play! Reaching ludicrous speeds, doing great leaps (oh, I see what you did there!) over the long spike pits, and perfectly landing on high terrains, is just amazing, and pulling these tricks off, was hella entertaining!
Unfortunately, at the beginning, it is really hard to master the controls. That is partially due to the fact, that there are a lot of actions you need to learn early on. Needing to do high jumps, tapping to skate faster, and still needing to focus on the quickly scrolling map, and timing your actions, it's just gets really confusing!
As to graphics and audios, they're okay. I like the backgrounds, but the foregrounds and objects, in my opinion, aren't as detailed. The music though, is really good! It fits the theme of frozen landscape perfectly, and at no point was it irritating for me, which is a big plus.
If only the controls were a bit easier to master, this would have been a perfect entry! But even now, this is a great game, and a very solid entry. Fine job!
Omg this is a great entry. So much freedom in the movement. The core mechanics are on point. The art, sfx and music are great too.
Very innovative gameplay, and one of the most challenging games in the jam so far! I really liked the mechanics, and was impressed how many levels you had for a jam. I really liked the way the pickups returned to their own spawns when you die, that was nice touch. Very good entry!
This is super cool! I love the ice skating sound effects, especially the skid to stop and change direction! Took a while to get used to the controls, but I really appreciate that you can change them from the defaults, very nice touch.
Wow, nice game! It had the potential to be very challenging until I realized that you can air dash infinitely. Then I went out of bounds, so extra theme points.
Very nice art! The controls were challenging and took a while to get a hang on but turned out ok. I could not make it till the end though.
Had a lot of fun with this game. Challenging at first, found myself hitting the wrong buttons often (which I imagine a lot of people do with a unique mechanic like this) but once I got the hang of it I liked it a lot. great work
Beat it on challenging =] This is such a creative concept, skating to the beat is such a cool idea and I loved it. It's also really hard and I wish I was able to keep my momentum through a whole level😅(couldn't imagine beating this without any dashing)
I thought this was a really nice entry! Going for anything with unique physics mechanics is a bold move in my opinion for a game jam, as it requires so much testing to "feel" right, but you nailed it in my opinion. The skating felt difficult, but perfectly fair, and there were enough nuanced mechanics, like the holding up to jump higher, that there certainly seemed to be lots of room for creativity.
Nice job!
Enjoyed the game! I like that the game was difficult!
Very interesting idea, but too hard for me. Stuck on double pit after the message about C button - can't hit the gap between them.

I really like the idea of a platform game on skate, also the style remind me a little of supertux.
So yeah nice game !
I wouldn't mind playing an improved version of this game if you continue working on it after the jam ?
