A pretty unique game!

It is basically a puzzle game, where you need to switch between two genres, platform and top down, in order to reach keys, and then exit doors. It is a very innovative idea, and I'm really fond of it! Controlling the character in both perspectives is responsive, and the levels aren't too hard nor easy, and solving them is really fun!

Albeit, sometimes this game can get really buggy. For example: when you're cranking the buttons, even with the full bar, the game might not register it, or sometimes the orange pads might not work at all!

The graphics and sound effects are okay. The only thing that could be changed though, is the addition of music, because without it, the game feels kinda empty after a while.

But besides that, this is a great game! It is fun to play, is innovative, and overall, you did a fine job!

Thank you~GMPguy~ Very honest and detailed review! Making a unique game mechanic is always what I desire. From this gameoff, I can see what ability I'm lack of, what part I should reinforce. Thank you for playing my game and like it! Really means a lot to me!

This is such a cool idea!

But I got stuck on the second level as I couldn't effectively push the table :/

You know, I only got a few minutes in before the controls stopped working, but in those few minutes I was very impressed! Very good idea. Well done!

Idea is good, but keys are not comfortable to use. Jump, Interact and Change are too far apart.

Hi, I played the game and this is my review of it. Let's start of by saying that i love the idea behind it and it's executed very well as well. The art is cool and even without music this is a good entry. I couldn't find anything wrong with the game, it's pretty polished. All and all this is one of my favourite entries due to the great game design and idea. Well done.

I had a real “a-ha” moment with this game. I loved how the theme was interpreted to break beyond the leaps and bounds of the axis. Reminded me of a sort Fez meets Sokoban sort of game, and I really liked it.

Level design was very well done, with it teaching you the basics as you play.

Managed to get stuck a few times, but that might be my lack of keyboard game playing experience (I’m more of a controller person). Also, I kept wondering what kind of music I would like to hear while playing.

Great entry! Well done and keep up the awesome.

Some of my friends and some developers down there find the last two levels unreasonable and logic breaking, can be hard to beat the whole game... I could be wow if you beat it! I tried yours, very neat tiny story-driven game! I can see you use Godot too! I'm like a Medium rare steak new to Godot haha!

BTW, xbox and ps4 gamepad are suppported :D

Thank you for playing my game~

Hey man! Thank You for checking out my game! I really liked your game as well! It's crazy that you made all of this by yourself too, at least going based off the credits screen at the end. It's got a really fresh and original idea as well, puzzle games might not be my forte but I had a fun playing it!

Thanks~ Your dad's drawing, that's what is called art! Mine, as us Chinese say, is called soul drawing Haha! Amazing you have such a partner dad! Glad you like it~

Tab switch is good idea.

Developer

HaHa, either windows or mac taught us long time ago, Tab = switch

This one is so great. Very creative mechanics, and great graphics. The audio is  although minimal, very adequate for the game. Very very fun puzzle game in general. 5/5 on all categories from me.

I have two complains though... the first one is... I wonder if it's just me, but sometimes I confuse the button for reset and the button to change genre... I think the reset button should just be put on a corner or something? If you are using Godot like I think you are (that loading screen is sooo Godot so you probably are), it is as easy as adding a button node and make that node send signal to a node that can reset the world.

Another complain is that... how was I supposed to know that sometimes velocity is retained under certain conditions, or that a button stomped will stay stomped when changing genre? Although it becomes a very good trick to make clever puzzle (esp. for the last one -- nice level design there), it was logic-breaking and not intuitive, and I think they need some more proper introduction stages

Developer

Thank you! Super glad you like the game! Really great comment! I am using Godot, just thought R = Reset Haha, I am considering to build a UI, and put some sth including reset button. About another one, sorry for your confusion. I sent it to one of my best friend the next day after the deadline, and he complained exactly the same, now I can see more clear that I cannot design like this. Rebuild this feature and some of the levels are definitely on my list.

Extremely innovative. I like it! I had to use the level reset function a few times though when I got stuck.

There are some bugs, I'm still stuck til the deadline, makes me understand what I'm not familiar in Godot Engine.  Still, glad you like it!

A couple bugs here and there, 5 stars for innovation, I'd love to see what it becomes after the jam once the small issues are fixed :)
