It looks cool, I would like to have a Linux version.
Developer

I'll have to look into that. Since I don't have a machine running Linux, I have no way of play testing the game before I upload it. I'll see if I can find a way around that.

Submitted

I can help with testing on Linux.

Good fun! I've also recorded my play-through here!

Developer

This is awesome! Your high score is up on the leaderboard now, along with someone who just knocked me out of top ranking with a 795(!). Oh yeah, I'm gonna check out your game today as well. Super excited.

Very good entry. Overall style is really good.

Great entry! Gameplay, art and audio all working very well together to really take you back to ye olde shooters of yore.

Developer

Much appreciated, Matt. Looks like you got a new high score on the board! I just updated the leaderboard with your entry.

Really awesome entry! This really took me back to the old retro fps and the visuals were nice to get pulled into as well. It was hard to play on a trackpad, so I hopefully can come back and play with a proper mouse.

Developer

Thanks a bunch! The game really works best with an external mouse, especially now that I've updated the game to make the controls more sensitive and accurate. Definitely check out the new build if you're interested. :)

What an experience! Did you create a custom character controller for this? It really feels nice. The audio, graphics, and all around ambiance are amazing.

I did not realize there is more than one ammo type until I read the comments. I kept "running out of ammo" and dying.

How long have you been making games? This is very impressive for 1 month of work.

Developer

Thanks! So happy you enjoyed playing. The controller is essentially the default asset provided by Unity along with a fair number of my own modifications. And yeah, I know having the different ammo isn't as obvious as I'd hoped. But the latest update of this game includes information about the different ammo types, such as how many there are and what each one does differently. I also added a dynamic crosshair you can toggle on and off for convenience.

This is the third game project I've ever "completed" and made available to download, but there are a couple more that I've had in the works for a little while. I started teaching myself how to code and create games since about spring of this year. But for what it's worth, I've essentially put all of my time into learning everything I can. My plan is to release my first full, premium game by summer 2018.

You got got the old fps movement down perfectly. Instantly thought back to Doom.

It took me until after I collected the keys to figure out there was more than one ammo type, so I thought you had to do everything with limited ammo.

Developer

That's awesome to hear, and thanks for that constructive feedback. I'll need to think up a way to show there are multiple ammo types available. Much appreciated!

Music set the mood nice- captured old school FPS well!

Developer

Thanks! That's exactly the feeling I was going for, so great to hear it comes through.

Trippy, trippy, trippy, sooo trippy. The artwork in this game is amazing. It really brings this feeling of being immersed in another world.

To be honest, I couldn't figure out how to kill enemies. I stand there, right in front of them attacking, but nothing happens. They just shoot me in the face, laughing afterwards (Ok, I might have imagined the laughing part). Some hints would be great.

Developer

That's really good feedback all around. Thanks a ton. Could I ask what platform were you playing on, and were you using a hand-held mouse? There are three "energies" (weapons) to choose from, all of which can run out of ammo completely, so also want to make sure that wasn't the case.

Otherwise, the hit point is basically at the center of the screen, just above and between the hands. If you shoot at a wall, the splatter graphic that appears will show you where you are hitting. I had a "crosshair" reference in the game to begin with, but thought it wasn't staying true to the original FPS games like Wolfenstein, Doom, and Hexen. Maybe it'd be better for everyone to toss that in, though.

Sorry for the delayed answer. I got stuck in the 2nd circle of hell.

Playing on a Mac using a mouse. Yeah, an optional crosshair would have been nice, perhaps in the menu settings.

Anyway, after your hint I am now able to slaughter those hideous creatures and wipe my feet with their bodies. Yay!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for this really good idea. That optional crosshair is now in the game, and I think it'll really help everyone get through the level. Cheers!

I like it, half psychedelic and the music is so good.

SOOooo grooovy
Really like this graphics and beats

Developer

Thanks! I was worried the music might be too intense for some people, but I just love '90s music too much to stop myself.
