How does the game fit into the theme?
you play as an ice cube trying to escape an erupting volcano, and the only way to survive is to keep moving forward. The rising lava never stops, so standing still isn’t an option. You have to keep climbing, jumping, and sliding your way up, making split-second decisions and staying ahead of the heat. Even when you take side paths for secrets or shortcuts, the goal is always to push forward, because stopping means melting.

I think the concept and gameplay are great, although I think a little more music and sound effects would have greatly improved the experience.

You may exploit the idea that it is an ice cube more - maybe there could be spells or so. I think that the ice currently slides too much, and the level design wasn't ideal for the ice to climb up - or maybe I was just not skilful enough.
As for the final 'game over' splash screen, it wasn't working at the moment. The time and number of plays aren't functioning. But I understand it might be a last-minute thing and haven't been implemented.

Yeah you are right, the slippy movement is a feature, and I should’ve given the player some cool power. Like freezing time for 10 sec or shoot water drops on enemies. And also so e enemies. But yeah. It’s likely first proper game jam.
For the bugs, they just don’t work on the Web. They work on windows but I never got it up in time. And that other version had all problems fixed and better art. Sadly it didn’t upload.
Oh yeah, in the main. Menu, there is a secret (not so secret anymore) keybind that let’s you fly and become invincible.

Fun and intuitive platformer, but I wish there was more sliding and chaos with the premise. Solid game and experience though.
Sadly some folks here are complaining it’s too hard and some are complaining it’s too easy. I think it’s the problem of the level which should have rewarded the good players with better scores and the less good players with an easy experience.
I might make a new map later after the jam. If I get in the top 25% Although 33.3% would still be good
Bro, I understand that it's ice) but it was possible to remove the sliding, it's too hard to jump, it's not possible to control the jumps.
And the idea itself is very cool, I also liked the variability, it seems like there's a long way to go, you probably think you can walk easily now, but there's the hardest parkour on balls)
There’s power ups that remove the slippy movement. I’ll give you a hint, the best one is on the far left of the map.
hey, this was a fun game and I think the melting concept for health was very unique instead of hearts or life. Visuals on the lava are cool and well done and the UI is clean! Maybe if I could pick, the ice cube could use some cool abilities or some other element of using its water content as an advantage, idk? Great submission!

Very cool, I liked the movement honestly, made for some unique ways of speedrunning, good use of lighting, overall it was a pretty fun experience
For the lighting, I planned so much more. But I forgot to update the jam build with the updated QoL features and better art. After the jam is over, I might Polish the game even more if its well received. And finally add a downloadable build.
Decent game and I understand that he's ice so he's supposed to slide around a bit but because of how the side to side movement was coded it felt very unresponsive and unfair when you died. I get that maybe the movement was coded like that to be like you're on ice but it kind of comes at the cost of the sharp responsive platforming that most are used to.
that is because you are an ice. its like the main challenge of the game: speedrun with the bad movement. there is even a power up (the ice phoenix feather) that makes you move normally, as if it were a precision platformer, for only 20 seconds (a run lasts ~2 minutes).
if you still think its hard. it might just be a skill issue. but that can be fixed by replaying the game.

Very good concept! At first, I struggled with the ice controls, but then I started to understand them and discovered the secret passages. I was having a lot of fun, and I really liked it! 🕸️
