Nice graphics. Good luck!

I like how you made the theme as rewinding in skill. It was creative. But, the second time time I attempted to play your game, I couldn't seem to jump. That was the only issue I noticed aside from the lack of audio.  But it is a good game and I'm glad I played it. Great work :)

Developer

no time unfortunately for sound :), glad you liked it, ill be sure to look into the player movement

thanks for the feedback!

Wow a story and a boss fight during a game jam! Impressive. Cool graphics too. The movement/jumping/gravity/collisions felt a bit off though. Are you changing the velocity of the player for movement/jumping, or the position directly?

Developer

thanks its my first time making a story and dialogue system in a game, was alot of fun :)

and yea... you exposed me haha, i thought about it after hearing that collision was jittery and i assumed it was because i was changing the player position and not velocity.. ill be sure to rework the movement.

thnx for the feedback

Yeah no problem! For my first game jam I changed the players position instead of velocity, and so that's how I spotted it ;)

I like the art! I got stuck on a collider on my 1st play through though, it was on the level after the wizard confrontation.

Developer

thank you! i spent quite some time on art this time for a change :) ill be sure to work on collision, thnx !

I liked the story and the art very much, also the idea behind it :)! The player movement seemed quite okay for me as well. Some colliders maybe a bit off ye, and the final battle was a bit strange.

All in all, good job! :)

Really cool and cohesive artwork!

I also like the movement, sometimes a bit glitchy but to be honest, it didn't remove from my experience.

Great job mate!

Developer

thank you friend :) i worked hard on the art so super glad you liked it!

ye i understand that the movement could use improvements but  its nice to hear you still had a good time

I enjoyed the cohesive art style throughout the game game nice work. I thought the rewind mechanic was also interesting starting with everything and being reduced to nothing. The final end game fight I thought was a good idea since you could see enemies doing the same thing to you in a few of the levels.

Feedback; While the end game fight was really creative I felt the timing to be off. What I mean by that is the wizard would go to a platform and as I run across to stomp on the ground he would change spots, basically every time I would get there. This made me as a player feel like I was behind and that the best strategy was to just wait for him to spawn below me instead. A good approach would be similar to nintendo's style where they give you that extra time so you as the hero feel like you figured it out and out smarted the boss. Just like that extra 2 seconds and I think it would be really good. Some of the platforming I felt like I would get stuck in a jump state and couldnt jump sometimes. Some of the invisible colliders felt a bit off specifically the stair case at the start. Perhaps increasing the contrast of what is in playable grounds could really help with this if you were trying to sell they needed to climb the stairs.

Overall good enjoy!

Oh sorry one more thing that may help others. The games exe path included periods which my windows 10 system was picking up as a different play not allowing me to play the game until I renamed the exe and _Data folder path to something else.

A bit glitchy but I like where you are going with it and how you implemented the rewind theme.  Keep at it!

Pretty decent game! Found movement to be a bit clunky and hard to control, especially when platforming. Simple story concept, but works well with the theme! Well done :)

Developer

i agree about the movement , ill be sure to work on the colliders more so it will feel less that way. thnx friend
