The game really looks nice. This music is super good, and the gameplay is quite nicely designed too! Going down and down into the abyss really builds up the anxiety, the map is also increasingly harder the further you go, which, combined it's really matches the deep sea theme you are going for. Nicely done!

For some nitpicks I think the game is a bit slow at the moment when it comes to game progression. It felt like each upgrade took a really long time to do, and pairing with the fact that it's perma-death makes re-running very frustrating. A strange thing I noticed about your game is that, for some reason, the whole screen (even the itch page) blinks randomly once you travel downwards. Not sure if that's intended but it worries me if it's breaking the browser.

Anyway, this is a really nice entry. Well done!

Thanks . i 100% agree with your nitpicks i'll 100% take them into account if i revist the project

probably a bug I haven't found..

Fun game! Fits well with the jam's theme, as far as getting more valuable fish the deeper you go.

Great game! It’s really well polished and has a big variety of fish. The games  takes a lot of patience to play, which I lost after about 10 minutes in both of my runs, which was a shame since there were still a lot of perks I hadn’t unlocked yet. I even tried going deep down where I’d need light, but couldn’t make it and lost my line while exploring there. But overall, it’s a really good game, I loved the atmosphere, and the ocean background sound is amazing.

Nice mechanic! At first I didn't get the depth, but the "two phases" the hook has is pretty good. On the way down I felt the need to be accurate and careful, but on the way up I needed to be fast and reactive. Good mix!

Good job, and congrats!

I enjoyed how simple of a premise the game was. I really like the visuals and the CRT shader that you used. The music was also good. I think that fact that you have to go deeper to catch better fish fits the theme perfectly. Awesome job! You should totally check out my game. It's very rage inducing but in a good way. Feedback and a rating would be greatly appreciated :).

Stunning visuals and effects I love the concept great job!

Cool game! Love the different new fish as I go deeper!

Running on browser lags a lot sadly, but nonetheless a well done game!

Very addictive - made me want to keep having one more try to see if I could get further down or reach a higher score! Well done to the team had fun playin and fits the theme well.

Nice atmosphere. The game feels very polished! But I had a problem where I accidentally pressed space in the beginning and it counted as an attempt even if I hadn't got to the fish yet. Perhaps the attempt shouldn't count if there is no fish on the hook? Other than that I really liked it though!

Cool game! I loved that to get risky I had to dodge all the fishes so I could go deeper, a really unique mechanic and take on the given theme. The style was nice and a good fit, it reminded me of Dave the diver and Downunder in all the good ways. Making money to buy upgrade was a addictive game loop. Overall well done, I quite enjoyed it!

Pretty interesting game, it tackles the theme of risk in a pretty interesting way, and the gameplay was quite enjoyable.

The game looked really polished and sounded great.

fun game, the graphics are pretty good. i do wish like the other comments said ability to release fish but ig that kinda defeats the purpose of tries. maybe instead if you can can have infinite tries unless you hit spikes? still a fun game 9/10 :D

I liked the visuals and audio. I found the gameplay kinda tedious for myself. I don't like that I should dodge the fish; I wish I could catch multiple at once from the beginning, or maybe free it if I decide so.

Thanks for the feedback.

i’d love a version of this controlled with the mouse

Developer(+1)

Could definitely see that as a good control scheme work as well as a touch screen control method.
thank you for playing

I love this one! The background having a CRT-like shader was really captivating! I also like how unique the gameplay loop is. It all gave off a really cozy vibe. Definitely one of the best jam games I've played so far!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so Much for playing.  I love CRT Filters. we gotta bring back crt displays

LOVE IT, it's similar to what I had in mind for my game but a lot better and really polished. Really enjoyable, I wanted to reach the bottom but it's really challenging! My favourite so far and probably for the whole jam.

Simple, well executed and intuitive, you can just pick it up and play it, really fits with the theme as you just keep wanting to risk it more and more. great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks. I appreciate the comment

It's cool way game for the them very unique and risky, altho the prices are very very expensive! I tried going deeper but when I catched a fish it's hard to get it safly up. I would have liked to instantly to go up without any problems instead of also have to backtrack it.

Besides that the art and music are amazing good for it, loved how the fish look, liked the balance of the game that deeper get's harder. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Yeah the more i played it, the upgrade costs definetly need to be lowered so the progression is  a bit easier and for the backtrack that is the price you pay when you go deeper. but when you reach the 3rd depth level you can buy a checkpoint that spawns you in that level.

This was a lot of fun! It was giving me some initial Dave the diver vibes! I loved seeing the super rare flowing fish and trying to catch them without hooking a less valuable fish. Great Job :)

Developer

Thank you for giving the game  a shot.

Hi! Liked it! Very cool! Beautiful pixel graphics and a nice, smooth fishing experience.

Would've loved to see all the fishes together - like maybe an encyclopedia ?

Developer(+1)

an encyclopedia would be perfect for this type of game i 100% agree. Thanks for playing
