How does the game fit the theme?
Shard of Light directly embodies “Risk it for the biscuit” with its core mechanic: the less light you carry, the greater the danger—but also the bigger the rewards. Players must decide whether to play safe and bank their crystals, or risk venturing deeper into the darkness for higher gains at the cost of survival.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All gameplay systems, mechanics, and level design were created during the jam.
We only reused some free/royalty-free assets (fonts, sounds, and possibly a few placeholder 3D models) to save time.

How many people worked on the game?

Great visually and it was tense walking into the dark especially when your light becomes low. Good job!

Loved this game, lowkey reminds me of that castle game with cute cutout characters jumpscaring you. I really liked it, well done!

It's a eally nice game,The music really fits the atmosphere.the controls felt a bit slippery

But overall good game :)

Pretty good, not sure if it was just me but the look controls felt way too sensitive. Lighting was great which helped set mood. Had a surprise moment when the monster was chasing after me and I don't' scare that easy lol.

Game has nice visuals and cohesive with the theme.

Good attention to detail like lighting, good level design the dungeon is so big ! It has big potential to be a very good dungeon crawler, only thing that would be nice is more options to safely bank shards or navigate through the rooms like a map / compass. Overall a really good entry!

Really loved all the effects going on with the different lights and the distant roars. I'll admit I greatly ignored banking my crystals to see how far in I could reach but it was fun regardless.

The atmosphere is really good! I was definitely bracing myself for a jump scare and constantly looking over my shoulder lol! Felt really good to open a door and see a bunch of monsters and need to close that door in time to not get caught.  I think some audio occlusion would go a long way for this game, being able to recognize which hallways lead to the monsters through sound would be a big help. Great work overall!

I really like the atmosphere you created in this game! The visuals and music work super well together and I really like the feeling of urgency that you get from both the time pressure of your light running out and having to go deeper into the labyrinth to find crystals

Nice game!  The visuals are top notch, the ambiance is really nice. I liked the gameplay loop, simple but efficient ^^. I would have liked to do something with my cristals (like a shop or something), but that's quite a lot to ask for a 7-days jam. It's already amazing to have such a level, enemies with pathfinding and all that, the game is really polished (and the "B" button is an awesome addition!)

I had a couple of weird bugs, like a door I opened that lead to an unloaded room, made me fall in the void and respawn at the start, and also I went through a wall (that was door-shaped, I thought it was a secret passage xD) and also fell into the void. Nothing too dramatic, I didn't have cristals both times so it was just funny =p.

There is something I don't understand: what is the light jauge for? I thought I would die if it reached 0 but nothing happened (expect my torch particles turning off). Also, enemies one-shotting seemed a bit too harsh, since there are times I don't think I could have avoided them ^^'. Maybe enemies should consume light instead, and the player only die when the light is out (which is, I think, what the description says)? Am I missing something?

Overall a nice entry, congratulations ^^!

Really cool game indeed. I really like the visuals and design of the game. But I got a suggestion that could make this game better. And it’s adding a settings menu, either in-game or at the start menu, where you can change the mouse sensitivity, as I also believe that the mouse speed is a little too high. I really enjoyed this game though. 🔥✊🏼

Great job getting this together in two days! Nice atmosphere and design. A few more in game tips about how to play at the start would really help!

Pretty solid game but id very much like a way to fight the enemies if i cannot out run them! also the camera controls are too sensitive. Regardless tho nice work!  *this game was live reviewed here:  twitch.tv/gratefulllyivory (will post vod after stream)

Very nice job! Best game I've played so far. The visuals are very impressive and the atmosphere it excellent! Keep up the great work! Only thing that did annoy me a bunch is the fact that the camera was extremely buggy. But I assume that's because of time constraints.

Hey thanks for the kind words! I've enabled fullscreen, not sure if it will fix the issue you encountered. :)
