Very interesting game.
What I don’t understand, why is the player confined in the grid with “turn based” movement and the enemies freeroam chase you.

Love the unqiue shoot to move concept. I found using WASD and arrows at the same time make you super powerful!

Submitted

Loved the bomb guy animations! I'd recommend making the UI smaller or have the "how to play" disappear while playing so we get more screen space to navigate and see incoming enemies. :)

The game looks good and is very fun! However the collisions seems unfair and some time there is a lack of feedback

i like it

Ha! Very nice! Got me on my toes!

The three big bosses got a "Sh!t" out of me

Soild games, the random buff/enemy buff mechanism make the game has replayability.
I have a question about the control mechanism, why don't you using both hold and press event! it maybe conflict with shooting mechanism, but can lead to another good solution,Typing WSAD continuously is a bit tiring :D

overall, good game. Nice work!

Developer

during the jam, I didn't figure out how to properly implement the movement when clamped, but now it seems to me that this is a good idea.

I love the animation at the beginning that shows what we're going to get!
Super fun to shoot just by moving. Not too hard, not too easy!

The game is really good, loved the visuals and sound effects! and of course, the core mechanic was fun!

Submitted

My hand is exhausted from mashing, had fun doing it though!

It is a fun and simple game! Good presentation, everything is clear except the top unlock bar. I suppose it is increasing difficulty. Good job!

I Liked the Graphics and the music. Pretty fun to play. The UI element in the top is a bit too big, especially if enemies are hiding behind it.

Submitted

Yeah the top bar got in the way a bit. I think making it smaller in general would help, maybe have it temporarily expand when you unlock an upgrade to show off the art if necessary.

Sounds like a good idea! :D

Cute game! Loved the retro music! Suprisingly I also liked the fact that you had to press the movement keys rather than just holding them down, I was pleasantly surprised.

I had fun spamming the movement buttons to shoot. I was a little confused what the icons meant, I thought the cancel sign over them meant they wouldn't spawn, but they spawned with that on them. Maybe ran out of time? I know that feeling, lol. Fun concept. Great job!

I think that the idea is pretty nice and I liked the visuals and the sound effects.
The controls could be better and the game could use a tutorial level and an options menu to lower the music volume.
The idea behind the player only shooting on move was surprisingly fun, however the controls are still pretty exhausting. I agree with the other comments that it would be better to be able to hold down the buttons.

I agree with the other comments, I like the grid based movement, but don't really see how it fits the theme.

In any case, well done.

I am win! Cool game but I dont really see how this fits the theme well.

Fun game - I really like the grid based movement! Just wish you could hold down keys instead of mashing them.
