A fun game that fits the theme well! I was not ready for the speed to pick up like that.

How does the game fit the theme?
In 2 ways:
1- I had a very limited time (about 7-8hours) to finish the game, and I thought "nothing can go wrong and I can easily finish the game right?"
2- Snail collects/eats thing on the path and surelly nothing can go wrong
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made everything on my own

Very nice and cute ! I enjoyed it a lot !
Please consider rating my game too ;)
A Pico-8 game in the wild, nice! The game was very fun and has a cute art style, and you did a great job in a very limited time.
My only constructive feedback would be to change the sprites of the “hazardous” collectibles. The skull is alright (duh) but the banana really got me confused because you would associate a delicious fruit with something “positive”, not something that removes your HP. With the fast-paced gameplay in play, I kept grabbing bananas because I subconsciously thought they were “good” pickups.
Changing the sprites so that they reflect what they “do” better would be my suggestion like a banana PEEL instead of a full banana for example.
Overall, good job!
I got confused. Should not eat that Amanita Muscaria. Simple, Solid game. I love when people make games like this one!
pretty fun compact game, found it a bit hard at first to understand what does what... Overall pretty fun though!
Great simple game! Awesome to see you made the assets, they look pretty and enjoyed the audio too! It got quite challenging in the end and I think it would be great to show which elements are good and which elements are bad with more clarity!
Awesome overall job!
Very entertaining and fun game, nice job!! We also made a snail related game, check it out
Really nice game!
Somewhere in the acceleration phase the jitter from the movement gave me a bit of motion sickness, but it got better as the speed increased.
Good job! The art feels very cohesive. Also it felt kinda not obvious that banana is bad to take so I had to try every item to see what do they do.
Cute game. Interesting item diversity for a simple runner game. Except for the skull, everything has a little bit of utility, so it's less about dodging and more about planning what you want to pick up. Great job!
This is very cute. I'm a sucker for snails. I like the pixel art but I'll have to admit I was a bit disappointed that it didn't match the 1-bit style of the thumbnail, that image looks fantastic.
Cool game, this is a good challenge and it's rare to see a pico 8 game on a jam GG
as a small feedback, may be added more feedback on object i didn't know which is good and which is bad in the first time
realy cool game! i realy like the integration into the theme. What could go wrong in eating 20 bananas haha.
check out my game to if you like!
Nice! This was a fun challenge :) Love the retro look and sound of it all! Nice work :)
One thing that confused me was the banana-effect. It was a bit unintuitive that it makes you lose lives. But that also made it more challenging, so I don't know if it's a good or bad thing :)
It can get very fast especially if you eat these delicious carrots :D
When I was thinking about the difficulty balance, I was considering few options, but at the end I am not sure if you'd have time to register the warnings in higher speeds? The best I could do was to make bigger the "field of vision(the area in front of the snail)" as originally that was really small. The next adjustment could be to move the snail completelly to the left side of the screen.
Here you can see a first prototype, where the reaction times were a killer by itself :)
