How does your game fit the theme?
The player will calmly explore the world and then the Storm will spawn and chase the player in a frenetic escape sequence

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all the code, made our own music&sounds and made the animations. We used an asset pack just for the graphics and UI

Finished the game, man that last level was a real ride. Thoroughly enjoy it, could use a couple tweaks here and there just to make the controlling feel good and some better way of telling how far the storm is rather than turning around? Idk maybe that's part of the charm, enjoyed this one!

that was a fun one. I loved the climb which was like an upward wall jump. that was a pretty fun mechanic that I haven’t seen done that way. and collecting things is fun. great game

Great game! The controls felt crazy some times but the look and atmosphere of the game is amazing, great job :)

Really fun 3d platformer, movement feels great and I liked a lot the climbing mechanic, though sometimes it was a bit difficult to land on platforms after performing this ability. Visuals are great too! Good job :)

If the storm kills you on your way down, then never respawns again (or at least that's what happened on my case)

To respawn the storm you need to go to its spawn point again and collide with the spawner.

This was so much fun omg, why did I not see this earlier.

I think you can expand this with some extra speed, using slides and stuff to go fast and also do something like Neon White where you have multiple options to go for a single level, I think you kinda did that idea already.

I would pay for a full game no kidding

Well made platformer. Performance is slow because UE. But on low settings it was playable. Character movement is quite good, no issues. Game design follows all generic FPV platfomer parts without adding anything new. Game and level design are well done, it is easy to understand where to go and what to do, not too easy, so there is no boredom in exploration.

Really like the art in the game, but the movement (especially the slides and the climbing) felt quite buggy. Otherwise the game seems really promising. For me the difficulty was quite high (but thats probably a skill issue on my part hehe)

Nice first-person platformer! The controls feel sometimes a little bit out of control but I like how you introduce each new mechanic.

The escape parts of the levels I've played are quite unforgiving! I've managed to beat level 1 which felt good after I finally got it, but I am stuck at Level 2. After jumping down on that bouncy ground, I always get caught a few seconds later by that storm. 😅

We found that in the current build the speed of the storm is tied to the current framerate. So just increase the graphics and you should be able to beat it with lower fps :)

I was having difficulty going up a cliff and kept falling (either overshooting once at the top or just jumping back and falling) . So i stopped trying. Maybe have some level design elements so people of my skill level can also enjoy. Walls to stop overshooting for example.

  • For the Game Design, the levels were nicely crafted, with a clear path most of the time but with hidden critical paths for the player to explore a bit.
  • For the Fun part, it is a good platformer, and if you like the parkour aspect it is enjoyable, but there are some rough edges embedded in the code, which are the lack of noticeable acceleration and too much air control, which made "parkouring" the levels more frustrating than it should have been.
  • For the innovation part, it is nothing very innovative, but this isn't something bad, especially in genre's like platformers, were the gameplay doesn't need to innovate a lot to be satisfactory.
  • I got pretty invested in the theme, mainly because of the calming aesthetics of the game and the tension of tracing it back (once I learned what I had to do), only mildly tainted by some issues on the audio part (I will explain in detail later) and that maybe some small change when "entering the storm" (like a skybox change to something more cloudy or smth) would give it the final touch
  • What to say about Graphics; if you have consistency in assets and general design, Unreal is a very good option to get a good eye-catcher
  • For the final point, I got really distraught by the audio, mainly in the "calm" to "storm" changes, because when respawning after dying, the audio kept playing the "storm" music, which at the beggining made me start running without even activating the "storm" (also because the sound effect for the storm activating didn't work for like 50% of the cases). Appart from that, its necessary to mention that music was nicely fitting for the theme, and i would liked to see more sound effects for different actions in the game.


In general, to resume my opinion, this game only needs bug-fixing (obviously, this was made in a jam so everyone does what they can), some gameplay changes on the character movement/feeling, more feedback on the player actions and to give emphasis on the "calm-to-storm" change, and maybe one or two levels to make this a pretty solid game for any platform lover to have on their itch.io library.

Thank you so much for the in-depth analysis, we are aware of the things that needs fixing and also the improvements you mentioned were in our to-do list. We jsut a couple days more we could fixed everything! We already did with some of the things, we will release a fixed version when the jam voting ends :)

Awesome game! Beautiful, fits the theme 100%. I really liked the flying islands vibe from Zelda. Interesting map that makes you want to run around and look at everything. 

I ran into two problems. The first is that I had a VERY hard time climbing the vertical columns. The character feels just out of control at those moments. I fell 100500 times. Second problem - some objects are too far apart and I couldn't jump from one to another when running away from a storm

I managed to get to the big glowing ball once and give it the souls I had managed to collect, and then the storm started and I had to run away and then I couldn't jump over the chasm

My problem was with the controls - once your character starts moving in any direction, he doesn't really stop. I returned to the soul storm after the storm begun, but couldn't figure how to purify souls, maybe because i couldn't get all of them. Also i tried to climb the foilage walls, and it was the same as the regular ones. But good job with the visuals!

Thank you for playing! Mmm …do you you have a low end pc? because the movement thing you mentioned it is the first time that someone bring it up. Regarding the storm chase begins, you just have to reach the Soul Stone, if you do, you will be teleported to the next level!

I have a laptop, but basically, yes, it isn't the one you choose to play unreal games on, and i chose "low", if it was about the graphics. And I wasn't teleported to anywhere.
