How does your game fit the theme?
The protagonist dives deeper through his dreams and ends up trapped in a VOID. The player needs to help him escape.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All video and code were created during the jam including some of the art, with the exception of some assets which we also created. Some fonts were presets from Final Cut Pro. Music and SFX are from YouTube's Audio Library and are royalty and attribution free.

Wow, this is amazing! I love it when media types go in the blender. You can clearly see that you guys are professional videographers. The quality of the whole production is amazing, especially for a one week game jam. Are you planning to make this into a professional thing and possibly sell these types of games? If so, you might have a fan :). I'm a sucker for old school point and click games and games with an unusual art style. One of my favorite games is The Neverhood, which is a claymation point and click game. You should check it out, because besides the clay it has a lot of similarities with your game.
Some constructive feedback:
As a professional game/visual designer it is my guess that your skills in terms of videography outshine your skills in game design and development. Or it could be time limitations, because having this production quality is pushing it ;). If this is the case, ignore my comments. There where a few small bugs and the interface design of the puzzles was of less quality than the video production in my opinion (not as sleak and stylish as the rest). I would have loved to have a bit more freedom of choice, like choosing the doors in the order that I want. And sometimes the puzzles were a bit too obvious for me. Like when the voice over hints at the clock. I loved the puzzle with the piano, but thought it was a shame that you put a ui over the piano. I wanted to figure that out for myself ;). I'm only so critical because I know you are professionals and I would like this level of feedback on my own game :).
Some bugs I found:
- Sometimes cursors would appear, but I couldn't click anything for a little whyle.
- Sometimes the question mark stayed while I think that wasn't the intention.
- When I closed the pictures on the wall (with the clock) screen I went to the piano screen.
Back to praising:
Congratulations on this amazing achievement. You can be proud and I'm sure you will have a great score on sunday! Please let me know if you are planning on releasing more like this, because you can count me in.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment and the feedback! We really appreciate it!
We had a great time making the game, and it's something we would like to work more on and also expand upon. We would of loved to fit more in like different puzzles and also improve on the game design, but outside the jam we will try and work on those. Also fix any cheeky bugs that are in the game too. But we are looking forward to making more film/games, so hopefully there should be more releases on their way :)
Thank you again for the lovely feed back, it's very much appreciated! Looking forward to playing your game! It looks great! :)
Thanks for the reply. Only having a week for realizing a polished and fun game is hard right! I only had like 3 actual days and a few evenings. It's madness, but it's fun :). I had the idea for this game lingering in my mind for around 8 years... And then we saw the theme of this jam and had no choice but to give it a shot.
I really hope you can develop your style of game making furhter. I think it has great potential!
Amazing experience! 🎥
Things I enjoyed ✔️
Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷♂️
Overall 📓
This was a great experience to have! The puzzles were perfect! For someone who loves escape rooms, I felt right at home! Be very, very, very proud of this game! This was very, very well done!
Oh you are so kind! Thanks for your wonderful comment and valuable feedback! We really appreciate it! (And nicely spaced out btw!) We do actually have a trailer :) It should be on here somewhere, if not, we also have a YouTube channel: Power Up Pictures... Will check out your game too! :)
Thank you very much!
Maybe because I've never really played those video-based quests when they were popular, but this feels like the most unique game I've played in a while, well done!
Oh that's Awesome! So glad you enjoyed the vibe :)
Very creative submission and I loved the story.
So glad you enjoyed it :)
I liked the introductory puzzles, very creative and cool. Like many commenters, I got stuck at the running section, a spacebar mashing minigame really didn't seem to fit in with the puzzle vibe at all.
Thanks for your feedback! Enjoyed your game too :)
Woah! I really love the approach. The film making has high quality and the gameplay implementation is well suited. I got stuck in the woods, I cannot scape the nightmare as bad as I try. Inspiring job tho!
Cheers!! Oh no! Was it a bug? Or just struggling with the rhythm? It can be a bit tricky at first fo show!
This is such a creative idea, and fantastically executed!
I had an issue at the second puzzle a lot, I couldn't get past it no matter what I tried, even after multiple resets. But from what I did see, I enjoyed! Great job.
Thanks so much man!! So we are going to update it very soon-- maybe even tmorrow-- as it is a game breaking bug! So look out for the update and you will be able to play it all the way through! And see which ending you get ;)
Looking forward to it!
Hey! Just to let you know that we have updated the game and added on screen controls to the parts of the game that required keyboard input. So hopefully this will fix the issue you encountered with your playthrough. :) Hope it works ok! Thanks a lot for playing!
Thanks so much for the update!
I played right through to the end this time, the production value is so good! I'm very impressed!
Oh wicked! Glad you had chance to finish it! Which ending did you get?
I chose to not give the keys :D
Good choice ;)
This is probably my first interactive game, it had a nice story and was pretty fun, good job.
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed :)
Such an amazing concept, I've never played a game like this in a gamejam ever, super original and the acting was amazing. The sound design and ambiance made it really immersive and the puzzles were interesting, my favorite one being the piano. Amazing experience, but some parts had places where my mouse would tell me there was something but then there wasn't anything and it was confusing and led me to restart the game to try and fix it, but I managed to find what I had to do anyways. Good job!
Ah Thank you! So pleased you digged and experienced something new :) Sounds like you really got what we were going for... Yeah the mouse tricks ya sometimes, post game-jam we will fix that. Thanks for playing!
Did you really made this in just one week? That's impressive!
Sure did! (but a lotta late nights!)
Very impressive! Only complaint would by the running scene taking so many space bar clicks my arm grew tired. Oh well, great game anyways.
Haha its a good work out ;) Hope you managed to complete it!
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed playing! And thanks for the feedback, yeah the run is quite the workout, we will see if we can get a better balance of it in an update :)
This is a really impressive game for one week. Not only did you make a game, but you made a short film! I did encounter a few bugs though:
At the second puzzle where you have to punch in a code to open a door, whenever I got it wrong it would lock and I'd have to restart the game to fix it. (for anyone stuck, to reset you have to press a number key again. Don't press any other key because I believe that is what locks it).
Sometimes, when I replay the game, the keys at the beginning that you have to click to start the game would reappear after fading out, and just stay there for the rest of the game unless you reload the page and restart.
At the running section, after my 3rd or 4th try, the UI broke. The icons and the line I have to keep in the green section disappeared, and parts of the UI were cropped out. It basically then just played through the running section and let me win. After that, the cursor was invisible for a period of time before fading in.
Still though, its pretty impressive what you were able to do in a week, so a few bugs aren't too big of a deal, and I believe the rules said you can fix game breaking bugs during the rating period.
Thank you so much! And thanks a lot for letting us know about the bugs you encountered! We will try and get a new update of the game up soon, and see if we can sort out these bugs :) Thanks a lot for the feedback!
This is the first in the jam with such and idea/game play, this is amazing!!! To be honest I am speechless I don't have the words to express how amazing this game is 😂 it's like watching a movie and playing at the same time 🤯! very impressive
Thank you very much for the lovely comment! Really glad you enjoyed playing it! :) Looking forward to having a go on your game soon!
Wow! Very cool idea for an interactive game)
Thank you so much! :) Looking forward to playing your game! :)
I love escape rooms, and this is such an original take on that. Your acting is good; I'll bet you had fun with some takes. The chase is a cool, well-integrated mechanic. Smart game!
Nice one! Thanks, yes it is very escape room-esque. I love them too- And yeah more bloopers in the next one, it's a lot of fun
Unlike anything I've seen on here - very Bandersnatch! Cool concept, only wish the puzzles were a bit more balanced in terms of difficulty and progression. But very creative :) And the film and audio quality are top notch! If you're into the idea of the liminal, you might like our game too!! :D
Oh Thankyou Flo! I will certainly try out your game! Any chance of a browser version coming soon? Otherwise I will dive deep when on a PC :)
Actually, we asked about adding a WebGL version (I see many people with several builds uploaded) but the mods said no, even though the build for web was finished 2hours+ before the deadline :/ We didn't upload it initially because we didn't have time to test that build, and we thought it was risky. Super appreciated if you'd take the time to download. Next time I'm going for Web, for sure!
Oh I hear you! I must be the only person on here whose a Mac man, but my bro has a PC so no problem! I will deffo play, you've had some great comments already!
Nice interactive film!
Thanks! Great studio name!
Thanks! Great studio name!
The ideas is really interesting and innovative! It reminds me of these old point-n-click quests ( I guess, the game was made with these games in mind). The puzzles are challenging sometimes, and the nightmare minigame was much harder than it should've been (fortunately, after few attempts it lagged and I was able to go on with the game). Overall, loved the game. 26/30
Ah the dreaded lag! Glad it was a challenge but you were able to beat it in the end! :)
Really nice game! First time try this genre and really impressive!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
My jaw is on the floor... Never.... NEVER... I would think to find a FMV game in a Jam of all places... Very well done, sent me back in time to oldschool games... Congratulations, it is the best game in the jam so far for me by a mile...
Dogveleoper! That is the Best studio name I've come across! We are still toying with our name... Wow amazing comment, you got me blushing over here...
