My laptop isn't very good so this ran at about 1/7th speed for me, making it pretty unplayable :(
What I managed to see of it was pretty cool though, presentation is great and it looks like it'd be a lot of fun at full speed!
I drew pp in the grass
our best review yet, thank you
This game was so much fun! I really enjoyed the music and the custom art, the flying animation and the tire marks when hitting stuff was a lot of fun too!
This gives power wash simulator vibes! Very fun and clean and I'm particularly impressed by how well the 2D grass looks when you mow it. Very solid and very enjoyable.
VERY SILLY SWAG LAWNMOWER GAME, TICKELS MY BRAIN IN A GOOD WAY.
Very nice game. Mowing grass is quite fun. Good controls.
Funny thing is that at first I thought that the main menu was a actual level and I was wondering why there wasn't a timer or a score label even as I was mowing the grass there.
Then I realized that I had to step on the level areas in order to start the actual levels.
The game is really satisfying and has a lot of polish in the level select screen and score screens that I really enjoyed. The levels sometimes felt a little long (especially the earlier ones), but I still really enjoyed the top down racing-game-feel of the controls
For some reason this game eats up 100% of my GPU and like none of my CPU. So It plays at like 1/3 speed. Don't know if there's a way to make it so I can play this game at normal speed...
unfortunately the technique we use for tracking the grass is hated by gamemaker, so the game just doesn’t run that well on lower end graphics :( we’re gonna try to improve it in a later update, but there wasn’t much we were able to do about it for the jam
First time playing a mowing game but it was pretty fun! Mowing the grass becomes surprisingly addictive.
A good time, especially with a controller. Well polished on all aspects except for the optimization of some code, as I noticed the more I shred through a grassy field, the more my game will chug if I enter said area again. It's my only nitpick and thus very forgivable. Good job!
I have never played a mowing game before, but I'm glad I have now! This game is really fun and cozy, I liked sitting back and mowing the grass. It is a simple but addicting game. I got a B score!
This was really fun and impressive, I daydream about making a mowing game every summer while cutting grass but always come to the conclusion that simulating all that grass would just be way too hard to figure out, and this game pulls that off and makes it look easy. The drift boost was an awesome mechanic, and the music is a perfect fit. I really liked the art and how unified the game feels, and the level selection is really cool too. One of my favorite parts is all the unique end screens based on your score, one time I had a D score and just ran into cars for the last 30 seconds since I already saw the C score and wanted to see what the D end screen was. Lots of personality in those end screens, and throughout this whole game. I liked in the credits how the devs each did some technical work and some artistic (visual/music) work, love to see that!
I really adore the clever implementation of the theme, basically having the whole game inspired by wordplay. The game itself is great for its simple fun and the catharsis of boosting around looking for remaining bits of grass to cut away.
I liked the aesthetic of the grass effect as well, though I think it might've helped in causing my laptop's performance to chug at times. Overall, it made for good silly fun!
First of all the main theme has no business being that fire. Reminded me of DFO or Guilty Gear or something, so good. The gameplay itself is simple yet addictive, and i found myself purposefully getting hit by the new mechanics each level just to see what cool thing they would do to my character. Hitting the dog and sending it flying while it made that sad yelp made me laugh out loud. All of the little touches like that, the skid when you drift, and the different pictures for the different ranks are great. The last level took me a 2nd try but I ended up with Bs or As on all 6 lvls. Really cool game, great job!
Funny you mention Guilty Gear, I was actually inspired by Drunkard Does Make Wise Remarks for the theme.
Fun little game! Great presentation and tight controls made this one stand out for me. Great work!
