Loved frying eggs! took some time to get used to the game mechanics but could see myself get better after every fry. Loved the interactions and the vibe ( specially the woman asking to add a cigarette to the egg at the start ) . Gameplay was challenging but it was fun process while  getting used to it.

Most realistic chickens of any game. Unfortunately, my immersion was ruined by the way it was snowing indoors. There's a lot of things to like about the game. Nice wit, beautiful visuals, and a really funny premise. That said, most of the time I spent playing this game was when I realized I could duplicate eggs in the tutorial section. Clear frontrunner for first place.

WOW! that was so fun. I loved the art, can't wait for cockydoody's game to come out, and the water museum's too. It was such a vibe, and I did feel myself getting better at frying eggs as the game went one. I first tried the four-egger!

10/10

Nailed the vibes for this perfectly. There' so many small things that add to the character of the game - the slightly off centered & tilted camera angle for dialogue, the wiggly shaders, the little hints at the state of the world and its technology and history that make you wanting to know more. Love it!

The game is really fun and really well made. The art, audio e.t.c are my favourite aspect of the game it looks really good!

Best cooking game ever. I enjoyed the flip mechanic.

(1 edit) (+3)

This team knows how to sling.

Very tricky! Had to learn that the pan edges actually offer a lot of specificity, and that you can definitely independently flip items instead of trying to flip everything in 1 huge hail mary. From the crushing lows of failing to cook someone's breakfast 23 times in a row, to the magnificent high of delivering a One and Done.

So much character in the atmosphere, the designs of the inhabitants, the music, and the gameplay. Honestly the work of a dream team. Would love to get a chance to work with any and all of these devs someday. A+

Holy cow, what a vibe. The first lady who asks you to cook her cigarette with her egg made me laugh out loud, then I realized it was a clever way of adding a timer to the challenge. This game is teeming with atmosphere and personality, and the idea of cooking breakfast in this gritty dystopian world is fantastic. So far, the most original game I've found in this jam. I just wish I was better at the mechanics 😂!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much! You will become an egg connoisseur one day I swear

I just love games with alien and gritty worlds. seeing big future for water museum and cdbunker2 in 2024

HAHA!!!! I GOT IN!!! GET RATED BOZO!!

Loved it. There are so many details to appreciate in this game's insanely well-done presentation. Little things like the wigglyness of the characters, the eerie skybox, the animation/shader on the eggs and bacon, the unique character faces, everything just blew me away and I was 100% immersed in this world. You guys did an amazing job and should be super proud!

Developer (1 edit) (+3)

Thank you man! That means so much, especially coming from another person who put soldiers in the snow for their game LOL shared universe

Submitted(+2)

LMAO yeah I think arctic eggs and red snow are definitely in the same universe. sort of a portal/halflife type of situation.

Been following this game on twitter, it came out amazing! the game I helped with I didnt have access to my itch at the time so i sadly cannot rate your game since im not part of a "project" but this was awesome, the dialogue was so unique and it fit the artstyle and the world amazingly, great work boss!

Developer(+3)

Thank you! This means more to me than any review

Love, love, love this game. As a huge fan of blade runner I was immediately hooked by the atmosphere and art design. The cooking gameplay is fun, humorous, and challenging, but what this game really shows is how much further good atmospheric design, world-building, and characters can carry a simple gameplay mechanic. The music is also top-notch, and I really loved the funny/bizarre dialogue and characters. I was already excited to play this game today and my expectations were exceeded!

Developer(+2)

Haha thank you so much! I had my eye on your game during its development as well, so it really means a lot that you took the time to play my game and enjoyed it!

Submitted(+3)

Wow! This game has amazing presentation and I was hooked! I was blown away by the art and it felt like nothing I've played before--in a good way! I like the original idea and I could see this being sold at a price. I'm open-jawed that this was made in two weeks, nice work! You've got full marks from me. The music fit perfectly too.

When I clicked on a game called "Arctic Eggs" this is not what I expected at all. That being said, this exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The atmosphere was palpable, when I first started the game I was getting spooky vibes but ended up having a very pleasant time talking and cooking with the residents of the arctic. It felt like someone took a WarioWare game and expanded on both the lore and gameplay, and I mean that in the best way possible. Great job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much my friend! That is honestly one of the best compliments I have ever received

Devs who want to do a narrative driven game in a jam setting take note! Build an awesome little mechanic like the pan flipping, and then build your story around it. Awesome vibe, once I got the hang of it flipping eggs felt like real life. I worked in a breakfast restaurant. So take my word for it! Glad I beat it for the dope ending credits sequence. I wish I had some sort of indication on who is hungry visually though, that was a frustrating part. Furiously searching with 1 to go. Cool cinematics!

Developer(+3)

haha yes! A fellow breakfast entrepreneur! I will add some sort of hungry person indication that’s a good idea, maybe hungry people are slouched over holding there stomachs a little bit? So there still would be a bit of a search, but you won’t need to talk to EVERY npc to find out who is hungry.

Anyway, thank you so much for playing all the way until the end! Means a lot that you saw it through

I have no idea what I just played and not entirely sure how on point the "mode" was but man was that an experience. If there was a "vibe" rating I'd rate it 10/5. lol Great controls, although the cooking sensitivity starts out way too low. Beautiful music. Trippy graphics but felt consistent and cohesive.

"Mode" was a weird one for this jam and while it made sense it was a hard one to tackle. You all definitely made something interesting. Great job!

Game Spoiler: Why the hell didn't I get to try and cook an egg on top of Mount Everest? I want a refund! /s lol

Developer(+3)

lol I have no idea why but it never crossed my mind to have the final scene be cooking an egg on Mount Everest, kicking myself now. Thank you for the idea but also thank you so much for taking the time to play my game! Really appreciate it.

Submitted(+3)

yooo this one's a banger and I'm not talking sausage

it was fun to get the hang of flipping them eggs

(2 edits) (+3)

the cooking is very satisfying once you get the hang of it, and the physics inherently leads to some surprising depth. you could take this in some interesting directions, like oily things leaving a low-friction slick, or overcooked things increasing that side’s friction, or heat concentrating in the center of the pan, etc etc. one of those “model a real situation” mechanics that very naturally gets richer the more you model reality.

it has a captivating & distinctive setting/voice; absolutely gorgeous audio & visual aesthetic throughout. i love the headgear and jackets

minor niggle: having to repeat conversations to retry a cook is rotten UX, along with the jrpg-ass “click twice to read text faster than a five-year-old”. if you want to force a pause for contemplation, have characters take a drag of their cig, or blow into & rub their hands! manually clicking through a “…” speech bubble has never once in my life made me stop to contemplate

this left a really positive impression on me and i’m super excited for the games Water Museum and cdbunker are working on

bug reports:

  • 1st cook tutorial keeps spawning a growing number of eggs
  • right-click violently resets frying pan orientation
Developer(+3)

I love the idea of the conversation being paused to smoke a cigarette. Have some updates planned for when the jam ends, hope I can get this working haha but glad you enjoyed the experience my friend!

Beautiful atmosphere, art, and music. I wish the gameplay wasn't so difficult so I could experience more of it.
