  • Simple game and decent replayability with the different companions and the leaderboard. Bit unclear when you die/respawn as you die if you don't go forward enough, also with it happening instantly it can be a bit rough, but the game makes for a quick and fun experience

Hey!

How are you? It's Ilias again. I have some new questions for you.

What do you think about game jams in general, and this game jam in particular? What do you think could have been better, and do you have any suggestions?

What were your favorite video games?

Where do you think the strength of video games resides? What do you believe a video game should have to be a successful video game?

If you would like, you can tell me a little bit more about yourself and your background, if you have any information you would like to share.

Thank you in advance,

Ilias.

Hey  TheAtrxcity !

How are you? My name is Ilias.

I tested your game, "  The Towns Hero "

Simplistic and well crafted pixel art can results into nice and coherent playable content when properly executed !

Combinaision between a 2d sidescrolling and a runner in addition of platforming experiences can sometimes make for a really nice and fun game !

_______________________________________________________________

At the begining the loading screen takes to much time  , i think it's a unity bug ( if you have used unity ) , many other jammer had it too on their game entries .

Runner Games can be fun and nice memories !!

Questions:

Did you implement any optimization techniques, or did you choose to use only in-engine optimizations?

What engine and tools did you use to create your game, including the graphics?

How challenging was it to develop your game? Did you face any significant obstacles?

What inspired your game idea and gameplay? Could you share the story behind the game's name?

How did you get into video game development?

_______________________________________________________________

Note: It would mean a great deal to me if you could rate my game. If you haven't already, feedbacks from friends and fellow gamers is valuable to me. Thank you in advance for your consideration and your time.

Thanks!

Ilias.

Fun little game, I was surprised to see the different classes which definitely added an element of interest to the game. Well done!

Cute & Polished Artwork. The FX were not my cup of tea haha. A very 'complete' game without any bugs that I encountered (or maybe I did & just didn't notice ahah) while others are saying easy to play, hard to master. For me it was hard to play, hard to master but thats just me cause I'm not good with platformers haha. Also, surprised nobody has mentioned but very mario like level palette.

Well done on the submission, turned out great!

Very cool runner! Support orb is the favorite one with a double jump) Art style is cute! Easy to play, hard to master :)

really fun game, its a  bit hard to attack nicely, overall nice game

Nice job! I had fun testing all classes!

I think the support is my favorite because of the double jump.

There seems to be a bug with enemy damage where each time you try again enemies deal more damage. After 5 or 6 tries, everything kills you with one hit.

Other than that, it is a fun game! Keep it up!

Oh, wow I didn't think of that. That bug is definitely in there. I never reset the difficulty timer. Thanks so much for playing my game!

The game is really cool! I like the movement of the player with the dash and double jump, and the companion choices. The leader board is a great addition to the game because it gets the player to keep playing. Really great job!

Developer

Thank you so much, I am happy you liked the game and I hope you had some fun with it! :)

Really well made, I'm going to mirror the last comment a bit and say that not having an invincibility frame makes damages a bit unrealiable. Still, pretty good one, simple but pleasant. Movement is fluid and responsive and the different ways each companion plays adds a bit of variety.

Solid entry.

Developer

Thank you so much. I would change the iframes to be longer to make them more noticeable. I should have also provided some more guidance in the controls. For example you can attack while you dash to get iframes from the dash and an attack. And you can dash in different directions when holding movement keys.

I really liked it) But it’s a little complicated due to the fact that when you come into contact with a collider of enemies, it triggers without a delay before the next trigger. But overall the atmosphere is great!

Developer

Thank you I really appreciate it! I'll have to look into the getting hit issue because it's supposed to have a 50 frame buffer before you can get hit again! Thanks for playing anyway!
