This is an amazing game!, I just loved how the bullets light the path letting you scout ahead with some pre-shooting into the room, it felt like those moments in the movies when the protagonist hears something and just sprays down the hall and the muzzle flashes of the gun reveal the enemy!.

Amazing job~

Not a badly done top-down shooter.

Good luck in development =)

Really loved it! The whole atmosphere and mood was super cool. And as a fan of dungeon crawlers and roguelikes I really liked this aspect of it.

Holy crap i liked this! This is not my type of a game but there is something with the 2d and the snappy controls that got me invested. I played once first with a harder difficulty and i died immediately ofcourse but then i got better after i played for a while on the easier difficulty . It was so fun and satisfying to shoot the enemies.

I liked the SFX and the graphics are fitting with nice animations

This game has a good feel and keeps you motivated to play, that is a big plus!

I would like to have some more visible field in front of the player by adding just a little light with the opacity a bit lower where your crosshair is? but just a little to give "some" hint of what is infront of you without showing too much? It felt sometimes like the enemies just appear infront of you all of sudden, altough i know that this is intended to give the panic feel :)

Anyhoo, holy crap, alot of work has been odne in just 4 days, damn. Good job man! 5/5.

Thank you for the nice comments. I wonder how many utilized the "area selector" in the main menu. The other levels are actually quite different and there's a boss fight too (although that boss fight is a bit simplistic in the end) :) But thank you! I've had many hours of fun with friends in the game, as it's designed for coop and teamwork too. And as for lighting the crosshair, there is no crosshair in multiplayer, just in singleplay. Also you can press (I think C on keyboard, X on gamepad) to throw a flare ahead of you, which is intended to light places up as you wanted.

The atmosphere is amazing, the voice lines are funny and nice, the gameplay seems polish, very well done!!

I thought the atmosphere was pretty scary when I first started. Also the voice lines are amazing!! Great Jam!!!

This was great! I loved the options menu! Actually seeing the screen shake and having the man scream for volume is a great idea! I found the key a couple times but could never find an exit! :( Overall great work! My first playthrough I was looking for a hud, and then I realized YOU ARE THE HUD!! haha. Well done!

There's a level selector at the top of the options for those who can't quite finish the areas and want to see the others. Did you try other levels through that? :) And thanks for playing!

oh no, I didn't notice one! I will go back and check it out! :D

Had a lot of fun with this! - It reminds me of a mash-up between Alien Breed and Into The Eagle's Nest (I take it you're an old-skool gamer like myself, Elodman, and Bimbarlade?), and definitely atmospheric / playable!

I did feel that the 'Neon' link seemed a little tenuous (but cleverly worked in, fair play!), but hey, as a game, it's great! - good stuff, and good luck!

Within 2-3 weeks prod. time it is gr8.  Alien breed atmos. :)

Developer(+1)

I made mine from scratch in 4 days :) only used a few audio clips.

Graphics and gameplay reminded me of ''Into the Eagle's Nest''. The wolves got me way too quick every play, even on 'pansy'! ("I need a medic over here!", while lying on the floor TOTALLY dismembered) :) I love the atmosphere 'music'. The neon-theme was hard to find, but overall a good game. Rated!

Developer

The Neon theme is explained in the tutorial screen. You are a genetically enhanced soldier, but as a downside you bleed neon blood which attracts more enemies as they smell it. At low health you constantly bleed as you move, making the game really hard until you find a first aid kit.

Ah, well, then it wasn't as visually 'on-the-nose' as most other submissions ;)

Developer

If you have a friend or a familymember and you have two controllers, please try this in Co-op too, it's most fun that way.

Nice creepy vibe! The lights and the ambient sound really adds a lot. I would have liked some audio effect when an enemy sees you so you know something is coming and it doesn't just comes out of the dark  . Overall nice job     :)

Developer(+1)

Yes, I had it many times in my mind that the enemies should make some sounds, but... At times when there are 100 monsters next to you, playing a sound just once would feel weird, and allowing each of them to play a sound would just make your house explode. So, this was the design choice I ended up with. They only make sounds upon being hit or getting eliminated. I guess the silence can also add to the creep levels positively.

Interesting take on the integrated UI with the helmet and stuff, but I did find it somewhat hard to read.  Gameplay felt juicy, visuals are neat. I would've loved for melee attacks to be a bit more impactful, maybe give them some defensive value through a small knockback.

Solid game overall. Well done!
