Really fun. I mean... I was terrible at the game... I felt very bad when I lost 80% of my team in my first fight... but that was my fault. Also... loved that I picked up the Scooby Doo Gang!
A fun little game! I enjoyed the decision-making elements of it & loved the kind of Robin-Hood feel to it a lot! I only played until after the first boss as it seemed too lengthy after that point, but I thought it was cool how other members could join the party (I ended with 21 members!) & I liked being able to choose which party members to give new shoes & weapons to. Some of the text on the player fight choices/abilities was hard to read because the background & text were both dark, but I enjoyed the aesthetic of this game!
Pretty cool game! The pixel art style is very pleasing, and the battle section is also very interesting, an amazing RPG game:)
"Well, that's quite a bunch of merry men we've gathered there."
"Sir, I protest. I am not a merry man!"
"Alright, a bunch of randos, then."
The fact that you can side with an Adventurer in random encounters without knowing which one it is is an interesting idea. But ultimately it also means that it doesn't matter. Towards the end I skipped the texts and just randomly chose a companion. BTW, some of the texts are not displayed completely. The day display is also a bit buggy. From time to time I was only shown 13 instead of 132, for example. And in some cases it's a bit difficult to mmake out the name of the attack on its symbol.
It is too lengthy for me, though. On the way to the second boss, it began to feel repetitive. You've seen most of the encounters many times by then. I really think that a shorter campaign mode would serve the game well.
Apart from being too prolonged for my taste, this is quite a nice game. I like the humour and dicovering all the familiar faces was fun. The pixel art is great as well. Would definitely like to see either a shortened version of this or one with more content. Good work so far!
This one was so cool! I was a little alarmed at first about how large my party was ballooning, but some of those final area bosses I was still losing party members. It was cool when I realized my party members were leveling up and gaining different abilities, which made me want to auto-battle less and play around. There's a bit more going on the hood with this one than meets the eye, and I really enjoyed myself.
great game! I like the pixel art , and the mechanics is straightforward, the choices reflect on what will happen to the team. The narrative is engaging and fun. This has good replay value, overall , I enjoyed playing this one! congratulations!
A fun game for some easy auto-battling. I think it definitely needs some balancing as my first time I didn't even make it one day and it all seems to come down to luck how long you will be able to play for. But the pixel-art, music and writing are very fun.
It's such a good idea to have a high fantasy world where people fight about crypto and student loans, actually made me crack up several times!
I think some fonts and GUI elements need some work and of course balancing is a big issue but I could see myself sink some more time into this!
A very fun auto battler, I absolutely loved the character variation, the sheer amount of them was exciting. I died a few times, but that's because I'm thinking tactfully xD
I also really enjoyed the environment design, for the limited time I played I didn't get too bored too quickly. The pixel art is just great, I could see myself playing this on my phone for a while.
I actually quite enjoyed this RPG / adventure! Seeing the cameos were fun and I was always wondering who was going to show up next!
I got pretty addicted after my 3rd restart, haha!
Good job!
Ok, so first the criticism:
The premise is great, but there are essentially no decisions to make. I put the combat on auto after I got a few characters, as each of them had only one skill at the time, and I got around 30 characters so there was no reason to try to protect or heal anyone, as they were expendable and too many to keep track of.
Choosing paths wasn't really a challenge as well, shortcuts just dealt a bit of damage.
After finally reaching the first goal, I was expecting the game to reach a climax of sorts, but it was only 3 waves of enemies (30vs10 so no challenge) at that point I got bored.
Still, the experience is pretty polished considering the jam time (but please add a volume slider/mute button, the background track is super loud), and the idea is cool.
Suggestions:
I would show the player what the choice they are about to make lead to in advance, like taking an optional encounter to get a gear upgrade, or having to decide between getting a new party member, or healing the current party.
For the combat, I would bring the focus to less characters, with more skills to choose from.
I would also shorten the journey length, with more frequent challenges/boss fights.
Also, I would weight the randomness of the encounters giving it more structure (during my game I got like 10 "party join" events back to back)
After all of this, I would definitely like to see more from it in a future version!
This is a fun auto-battler! Loved the cameo appearances, and the sheer number of characters is awesome. Really fun!
I loved the feeling and flow of the game! The simplicity of just making choices was very fun. However, about 25 turns in it started to feel a bit narrow in gameplay. I didn’t have much choice and the events started to become repetitive (I even sadly stopped reading them at one point). Maybe upping the challenge a bit, and making events that require more thought and decision making would be beneficial! Great job overall though! I loved the humor used through out (the scooby doo reference was hilarious) 😂
there is a lot of content in the characters, but little in the events. at some point it gets a little boring to play. but the atmosphere is wonderful.
That was an interesting game and the battle and party system had some meaningful decision making. After I beat the first boss it would be nice to have a save/checkpoint system so I could stop playing and come back later.
i cant believe you have created so many characters. I think i ended up with like 100+ people on my squads can believe how much time you spent on it. The only downside is when i play the game, its like 150 levels when i completed, gets very repeated and not so interesting to play. Overall i have to say this is a very decent game and its very adventure style
I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love this game. If only there was a save feature! I got past the first boss fight before I rated. When I first started, I don't remember who I chose but in my first battle two of them died. Now Cadwell is carrying my team at level 6 with 18 power, 17 speed, and armor 5. Amazing work with this game!!
