This is delightful!

Wonderfully paced, and contemplative without being forced. (Which is an easy trap to fall into with interactive media.)

Well done!!

This is adorable!  Loved the look of the dog, and the animation is so cute!

Really great for your first game. Well done!

The big heads is a great design choice, and the little side-to-side shimmy when they slide into view is perfection.

Fun take on the theme!

I love the idea of a recurring villain, and that you used the goblin as the embodiment of the "one" theme!
It has a classic JRPG feel, and I liked the tone you chose for Rowan and the NPCs.
One issue I did bump into was that it took a while for the goblin to show up, and when he did, the dialogue between Rowan and the goblin implied that they'd run into each other before. (I didn't see him at all during the first quest, so I'm wondering if I missed him somehow?)
Fun take on the jam, and I enjoyed playing!!

I'm a sucker for good mini-games!
Really fun overall, and I particularly liked the title, music and SFX.

Great concept, and fun atmosphere!  I was confused about creatures being attracted to the light, but when I saw the notes about moths, it made more sense.
I did have to crank the brightness all the way to make out much of anything (could be my monitor, etc.)
It reminds me of playing Haunted House on my Atari 2600 way back when, but your game has a much more effective vibe that that one did! :)

That's amazing -- absolutely addictive!

Only nit-pick is that it felt like bronze stopped being useful as silver drops picked up. Would have liked to cash in for silver, or had options for spending bronze somehow.

Overall, great game!

Super clever! I love the minimal (but completely effective) instructions, the hypnotic soundtrack and engaging gameplay.

I didn't get far because I'm bad at platformers, but this is very fun!

It's such a surreal experience watching my eyeballs and abstract shapes walk through this house and tend a garden! Totally cool take on the prompt.

This is SO much fun! Loved the way you matched the story beats with gameplay, and the easter eggs/references are terrific!

Ha! Yeah, once the fungus shows up, we're all kind screwed...
And I agree, ilikethepixies's artwork is amazing!!

This is SUCH a clever way to build a text-based tower defense.
Very funny and hugely creative. Well done!!

A really fun take on the theme!  Nicely put together, with clear goals and a streamlined gameplay.
Well done!!

Ha! Thank you so much for playing!

*whispers* (yes. join us in the Fungus Freedom Front to change hearts and minds...)

Very cool game! Fun puzzles, and a nice ramp-up in difficulty.  I did find myself wishing there were some additional controls for movement (like arrow keys) but that's a minor nit-pick. Really well done!

This is so much fun! Loved the card catalog, the variety of the puzzles, and the pixel aesthetic.
Well done!

I love the presentation and music! I'm a poor platformer, so I couldn't get far, but I enjoyed what I was able to play through!!

This is totally fun!  (I mean, who doesn't love ghost puzzles, right??)

I love the overall design and color palette, especially of the backgrounds.

I thought the puzzles were well designed, and the hint system was a thoughtful touch.  The puzzles did start to feel a bit repetitive, but the game is short enough that it's not that much of an issue, and the overall feel of the game carried it through.

Nice job!!

Thank you so much!!

Super useful feedback, thank you!!

(Just fixed the replay issue, and will address the smaller checks in a later update. Thanks again!!)

(1 edit)

Thank you so much for playing, and for the kind words!

(And I'm counting being mentioned in the same sentence as infocom as a personal victory, even if it's just a tangential mention!)

Thank you!!

Thank you so much for playing!  (And agree about the images -- the goal was to let players get more immersed in all those little details, but it ended up being a casualty of the jam deadline.)

I like the concept of a platformer in the clouds, and I love the thumbnail art!

I struggled with the actual platforming, and couldn't get past the first candle. Not sure if that's a layout issue or just my poor platforming skills... :)

I think I may have had an easier time if it were zoomed out a little, so that I could see/navigate a bit easier.

Good job completing the game in the jam window, and great design of the fairy and the villain!!

Thank you so much for playing!!

Super interesting point about the interactivity. We'd originally planned on a point and click game, and the twine was a playtest for the narrative & puzzle logic. When we got closer to the deadline and scaled down on the scope, I wonder of that point and click sensibility was baked into the text.

Thank you for playing!

Thank you so much for playing!!

Thank you so much for playing -- glad you enjoyed it!!

Thank you so much!

To be honest, I can't claim the variable states lasting through replay was intentional, but I'm glad it worked out. It does make replaying for the different endings easier. :)

Exactly the feel we were going for! Thank you!

I love the rust mechanic, and the graphics and soundtrack work really well together.
As other commenters have pointed out, the rust mechanic can create a negative feedback loop, where I simply can't advance further.

I'd love to see a couple tweaks to that mechanism, as well as a sound fx that emphasizes the rust build-up (like rusty grinding gears gaining in volume and adding psychological pressure).

Or maybe something that made the decision of where to quit a strategic choice -- like if on the next run you can use the last robot's body for spare parts?

In any case, that's all nitpicky stuff -- it's a fun game, and nice job putting this together within the time limit!

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you liked it!!

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it, and we definitely wear the 'wonderfully quirky' title proudly! :)

Very cool -- I love a twine game!!

Nice use of the cat, and I loved the minimalist choice of changing background color to represent the new worlds.  I'd generally prefer seeing the text broken up across multiple passages, as that's easier for me to read, and gives more sense of agency to the player (even clicking with no choice feels more active, at least to me.)

Totally fun, and congrats on finishing for the jam!

Terrific job on this! It feels like you made smart decisions on where to invest your time/effort, and it pays off in the final product. The photos and the time jumps could easily have been tough to follow, but the story pulled me right in and I didn't have an issue at all. (I did struggle at first navigating the map, but I got the hang of it by the end.)

Really well done!!

Love the concept behind this, and the aesthetic is perfect. I did have lots of trouble with the controls, and I think that there's parts of the rooms I can't reach, but sometime that's the nature of a game jam!

Wow -- I love that you swung for the fences with this one! I can't easily summarize the experience, but it made quite an impression and I'm glad you went for it.

Thank you for playing! (And yeah, ilikethepixies' color palette is perfection.) Glad you liked it!!

This is fantastic! Everything ran smooth for me (in the browser) and it felt complete and polished. The puzzles are logical, and the hints along the way were just the right amount of nudging (for me at least). I also loved that there were enough changes and queues along the way to give a sense of progress -- things like the color pallet shift reinforced that the objectives were coming closer.

Super impressed that this is a game jam project. Well done!
