Hi! Nicky submitted this game to the California Fires QTBIPOC Support Fundraiser Bundle that I started putting together before, not realizing that the game can only be approved for the bundle by the account holder of the account the game has been uploaded to, & I realized this game is one of a few who hadn't approved the submission yet (there was both a Google form folks could submit games via, as well as this jam for it - https://itch.io/jam/california-fires-qtbipoc-support-fundraiser-bundle).

If you're not interested in participating in this bundle, no worries & I can see about having Itchio remove it manually from the bundle before the bundle is able to go live! If you are interested in participating, you can approve it at the link below! Thanks! :)

Thank you so much, & so sorry for my late reply! I'm so glad you enjoyed the new version! If you'd like to submit a journal response, I think either posting it on the social media or blog site of your choice & then link to the post here, or you could post your journal entry in the comments for this game if you prefer! Thanks so much again for your original feedback, & for checking out this game in the first place!

Thank you so much, that means a lot! I actually am a professional voice actor, so your comments are extra appreciated! I haven't had a chance to do a lot of narration work yet, but I have played characters in various podcasts, games, & more!

In regards to the rest of your feedback, I actually uploaded a new audio file version of the game taking this & other feedback into account. Thank you again so much for checking out the game! :)

Hi! I'm so sorry I just saw this now! Since you commented, I actually made an updated audio version which explains what the 36 words is for as I realized that was unclear originally! The 36 words is in reference to the fact that the game itself including the prompts is only 36 words long, as it was created for the 36 word game jam. The journal responses could also be 36 words if desired, but the journal responses can be as long as the player wants them to be! Thanks again!

Thank you so much, that means a lot! I'm so glad you enjoyed the changes & updates I made to this game! Thank you again for your original feedback & for playing the game in general! 😊

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! I'm genuinely so honored you chose this game as your Solo Journaling Game of the Month! I checked out the poem you linked & it's absolutely lovely! Thank you so much for playing it! <3

Thank you so much & no worries!! A few other folks also missed the message to approve so you weren't the last one & it's not too late, thank you so much again for submitting! :)

HI NO WORRIES!!! There were a few other folks who hadn't approved yet either so no worries & thank you again for submitting to the bundle!!! It should be released soon! :)

Thank you! I'm not sure why it didn't say it was approved before, but it says it's approved now so thank you again!

Hi! I know it's easy for stuff to get lost in emails, so I just wanted to let you know you still need to approve this game submission as soon as possible for the California Fires QTBIPOC Support Fundraiser Bundle before the bundle can go live! I would like to release the bundle before the end of the month, so please approve it by April 25th at the latest if possible! Thanks so much again!! :D

Hi, thank you & that's all really helpful!

I wanted to clarify that the game itself was one I wrote for a separate game jam (the 36-Word TTRPG Jam, with the limitation that games had to be written using exactly 36 words) which occurred during the same period as the Games for Blind Gamers Jam & wasn't written specifically for the Games for Blind Gamers Jam, which is why it's as minimalist a game as it is!

I am fairly new also to playing & writing journaling TTRPGs, & when I looked at other submissions in the 36-word game jam before creating mine, I saw, played, & enjoyed many other games submitted to the 36-word jam which also consisted solely of writing prompts & didn't involve further mechanics beyond that, which is why I wrote it the way that I did. I felt as my lonely space cowboy game was among my most popular games & was fairly short, it would be a good candidate for testing out, on a small scale the idea of making fully-produced audio versions of my games in the future which I would love to do!

Your feedback about adding more ambience is also helpful & a great idea, as is your feedback of making a version with an accessible font (I haven't had a chance to make that version yet, but I definitely will make accessible font versions of this game & other games of mine in the future, so thank you for that suggestion!)

Based on feedback I've received, I've made a more TTRPG game mechanic-focused version of this game-- the audio file for the updated version of the game not only includes game mechanics in the way of oracle-like D6 rolls that help give answers to the questions, but I've also gone ahead & taken feedback from other comments about speaking less slowly & added ambience like you suggested to create an atmosphere to the game in the same way the graphic designed version of the game provides to heart, so I have included that in the updated audio file as well! In case you're interested in listening to that version, the first file listed on the game page is the new audio version with these changes implemented.

Thank you again, your feedback was helpful!

I have made a screen reader-accessible version of one of my more game-mechanic TTRPGs called Judgement Day for the Robot Vacuum (https://ashleecraft.itch.io/judgment-day-for-the-robot-vacuum) for last year's Games for Blind Gamers jam but unfortunately finished it late so was unable to submit it. I felt as my lonely space cowboy game was among my most popular games & was fairly short, it would be a good candidate for testing out, on a small scale the idea of making fully-produced audio versions of my games in the future which I would love to do.

Hi, I had to work all weekend so I actually didn't get to start on my game at all until tonight but it's done now & I'd still love to submit it!

https://ashleecraft.itch.io/forging-an-interactive-poem

It worked, thank you so much!! 🐸

Oh! I'm not sure what happened with the file, I saved it again & it has volume this time lol so it's fixed now, thank you so much for letting me know!!

Hi! I had a lot going on earlier & finished my zine slightly after the deadline, I'd love to still be able to submit it if there's any way I can! ^^

I know it's super late & that voting is almost done, but I didn't have a chance to make my game until today but I still wanted to enter it bc I had too much going on during the jam period so I'd still love to add it!

Oh, thank you! I just fixed that! The other night before the deadline for the game jam I went to update the file with a better-formatted one but it was super late & I think I deleted both files by accident, it's fixed now so thank you for realizing that!

Yay awesome, thank you again for explaining how to fix it!! :D

Oh!! Thank you so much, I think I fixed that so let me know if it works the way it should now!

& thank you so much, I hope you enjoy the snail game!! 🐌💜💜

Hi! I just clicked on the link but it didn't work :( I'm not sure if there is an updated link but I'd still love for this game of mine to be included in the bundle! You can also DM me on Twitter at @Ashlee_Craft if that's easier for you!

Thank you, I'm glad you like the idea! :D

This was so good!!! I loved the character designs & your layouts, great work!!!

OH MY GOSH THE COLORS & TEXTURES & ART STYLE ARE ALL SO GOOD!!!!! The crows especially were so cute & I loved pizza being such a big part of the story, great work!!!

Poor dude lol, also I really liked your art style!!

All the crosshatching & textures looked so good, this was such a cool comic!

Awww, I loved the art style in this & the lil ghost character!

Awww, this had such nice warm nostalgic vibes & I loved the parallels between the two sets of characters! :)

I loved the dogs in this & also I genuinely laughed out loud when I saw the eldritch horror holding the chew toy in its mouth haha 🤣

Oooh, the backgrounds & textures & layout in this were so satisfying & good!

You have captured this particular horror so well haha

THE LINEWORK & TEXTURES ARE SO GOOD, this was such a cool entry!!!

Awww, this was definitely a cute & silly lil comic, it has good nostalgia vibes tbh!

As a fellow artist, I really loved this submission & the description of your process/photos showing the various stages of the painting! IMO I also feel it kind of counts as using the Fluxus modified that you ARE the art & that you have made yourself the subject of your submission!! :) Great work!

This soundtrack is amazing! I love the notes about what each track represents, & it all sounded exactly like something you'd hear in a really cool game or even an animated film! I think "Big Ben" was my favorite track because it sounded engaging & magical & had a nice energy to it, but these were songs all so good, great work!

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed reading your impressions of each song, thank you for listening & for reviewing! :)

I loved the retro vibes of this & the basslines were especially good! My favorite song was "Keeping Time", I loved the bouncy feel of these songs & their time-themed titles!
