I actually like a lot of the effects, like the scroll to show what world you're in currently. I also thought the hex code thing was inventive.

The modelling of the warp device is pretty cool. Also pretty cool to incorporate into a ren'py game. I actually like the warp mechanic too as it seems like one of those infinite easter egg-y VN things that you could have a lot of fun with, and break some of more 'mundane' renpy patterns with.

I enjoyed the characterization mostly although you might fall into some character tropes here and there. I liked the plot itself, its definitely got a twilight zone sheen to it. I'm not sure I enjoy the five misery endings. The writing is optimistic that there are mysteries to be resolved and ways to reverse the mistake but you just end up screwed in every dimension. (I realize this might have been a consequence of deadlines)

Congrats on the release!

Thank you for the feedback! I agree with everything you say. My writing and characters can be generic, and I need to improve my writing. As for endings, you are right on point, due to the deadline I didn’t have time to create a branching story 😅.

I really liked that! I only got one ending for now but I still really liked it! Your art is great, and the idea and story was awesome! Very nice work! :)

Great story! I really got into it. I am impressed by the graphics and the UX you've implemented. I'll be taking a look at your code to see how you managed them.

Excellent submission!

Thank you! I am glad that I took the time to clean the code up a little bit before submitting the game 😆.

The suspenseful storytelling here is top notch! I really liked the cast, they had a nice vibe about them as a friend group. That device has alot of intrigue and mystique around it, that I can't help but be curious what's coming next.

Also, so many art cgs and sound fx, I am thoroughly impressed what you squeezed in here over 2 weeks.

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! I did initially plan on having to unravel what the device is about, but couldn’t come up with a good storyline for that part so I ended up scrapping that idea. Surprisingly I managed to complete everything a day before the jam ended. I guess having a schedule worked wonders in the end lol.

I have to say the art style was super pretty to look at, the animations were just pleasing. I really liked the story a lot I have to say it was very entertaining. I really like Franz design alot out of all of them lol.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words, means a lot! I am not that used to drawing male characters, but I am glad that you like his design the most.

I don't play visual novels very much, but this was a nice change of pace for me. The game is very good and its narrative has so many possibilities. It's just sad that there isn't really a good ending.

Haha, I was planning on having a good ending but couldn’t come up with an idea on how to do it. So I ended up with mostly bad endings. Anyway, thank you for trying out my game!

Firstly, i am sorry to say that i am not fond of pure visual novel game. But I can admit yours is rich in terms of story telling and I like your art style. Really good stuff. I guess this is not your first one. If I am wrong this is even impressive.

Developer

I understand that visual novels might not appeal to everyone. But I’m glad that you still gave it a try!

wow, i had a lot of fun with this visual novel! the dialogue and banter was very campy and fun to go through, with the general story being more serious in tone. the shift between those two sides in the story made some of the pivotal parts of the narrative hit harder which is nice! i also like the interface-able device in the game, really adds a neat element of engagement while the going through the visual novel.

the presentation especially was really well done. i think you nailed the tone with how you utilized the audio and visuals. i also gotta compliment the art, really well done on the aesthetics in this game, the backgrounds look so nice!

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! This was my first time drawing backgrounds, so I was a bit nervous about how they would turn out, but I am glad you liked them 😅.

I only had time to get through one ending, but the amount of effort that went into the art is impressive. I also really like the music and I think it fits the tone super well. Very cool concept and execution, good job!

Yeah, the game is a bit on the longer side, but thank you for playing nonetheless!

I liked the story. Although I couldn't manage to enter the correct numbers, I only got 2/5 endings =((

I see you're a pretty experienced visual novel artist and game developer, I like your style, Keep it up!

Thank you for trying out my game and for the kind words! Regarding endings, the initial 4 can be achieved by messing with the device when prompted, but the remaining can be achieved if the device is ignored.
