This looks fun! However, UE games on Linux with Proton don’t quite work well. So I won’t be able to rate it 😞
Really nice simple game, thought I didn't finish it the way you probably intended. I discover if you spam space bar you can hit the opponent multiple times, leading to a very easy win no matter the opponent! But it was pretty fun!
Thank you for the review and for discovering this weird bug. I did not know of it xD
I think the delay functions I'm using or the player controller might cause this unwanted behavior.
Kinder like Pokemon but you get to make your own Pokemon, other than that the game was fun little repetitive but nonetheless good fun game, music and sound were nicely done.
Thank you for the review xBluestone. That was the idea, but unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't make the combat system interesting enough.
I fully understand, I ran out of time to add what I wanted to my game too and to fix bugs xD.
You're game was still a lot of fun so you did good!
I like the build-your-fighter (pokemon?) mechanic, would love to see it with more body parts and combinations! (maybe some synergies between some of the body parts? idk)
Cool game!
Thank you for the review. Yes, that was the original intent. Unfortunately, I couldn't implement everything that I wished to 😅
Very cool game, it was like playing a pokemon game but you need to build your pokemon. I can tell you put a lot of work into the backgrounds, sprites and lore/dialog. I would however like to have seen more attacks or body parts, for more content. i did choose to fight audrey and got my ass kicked. but overall a great game, with beautiful backgrounds, and it was pretty fun to play.
Thank you so much for your comment. This was indeed the idea of the game, since I'm a big fan of the Pokemon series, and I thought something like this could fit well to the "Aberration" theme. Unfortunately, due to time constrains and poor focus planning the combat system ended up being pretty linear and boring imo, but more diverse abilities and body parts was my initial idea indeed.
Fun fact, if you beat Audrey, you can win the 4-hands body part and use it to fight again against the bosses =))
this game gives me a lot of nostalgia for those old web browser or computer games (a combination of something like Neopets or Purple Place)! i enjoyed the campy nature of this adventure a lot! the gradient vector art is really nice and contributes to selling the presentation of this game. plus, the build-a-bear aspect of the game, with each part defining certain attributes of a character is such a nice idea! nice work!
Thank you so much AppleJacks, you're comment means a lot. I've just checked your game as well, it's really fun to play. I like the retro artwork and the general concept.
I love the take on a pokemon-esque game with the monster building and unique art style. See some potential if this is taken further.🙂
Thank you Iridynne =))
Yes, the combat mechanic definitely needs to be extended, in order for the game to become more interesting.
