  • Nice boss rush. A bit short but i enjoyed it. Also, i didn't really understand the difference between magic and elemental slash. So i ended up using only magic, since running low on MP is not really a problem. Thank for your submission, see ya :). Drag
  • This is actually the first boss battle rush game I've ever played. It wasn't bad. I'm glad I got the cat back in the end!

Nice short boss-rush game! I like the introduction of elemental weaknesses with the slime enemies and implemented it quite well with the subsequent encounters. Do the characters themselves have elemental weaknesses? It seems like the red character takes more damage from the boss' water spells and just by having him in the party makes the final battle more challenging (before I aero slash his party to death :P!)

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game, Iā€™m glad you enjoyed it! Yes, the main characters follow the elemental weakness system, too, hence why the red character takes extra damage from water spells.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi! Distracting little boss rush game! And the best part is you don't even fight the big bad evil guy for the greater good, but just to get your cat back. This is kind of funny.

- Your game misses an animation file.

- Some text of your credit sequence is cut.

- Not every option you have is useful. Starting the second fight, the best way to play is basic attack to gain TP, using the right elemental Slash and a potion if you get low on health. Ignore everything else. From my point of view, magic isn't even as useful as elemental Slashes are. They're just accessories. And that's a bummer.

The game is short and modest, so I don't have a lot more to say compared to other ones in the Game Jam. I wish you good luck! ^^

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, this game needs rebalancing pretty badly. I'll be sure to include that along with the graphical fixes after the evaluation period is over.

Thanks again for enjoying my game! Good luck on the jam!

Hey there! Not sure if you saw, but we did high level feedback of your Jam entry on our YouTube channel:

It was pretty neat for a boss rush game. I liked what I saw, even if it was all battles.

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. šŸ™‚

Everything I was gonna say is covered by the previous points...

Good boss rush game. The numbers were better balanced then I have been able to accomplish yet:)

As mentioned, a bit slow.

Yeah, the game really needs a "speed up" button.

Thanks for playing the game and giving feedback! I really appreciate it. šŸ™‚

Save the kitty! I'll start with what I enjoyed about this game:

  •  Cat <3
  • The element system was simple, effective, and added a layer of strategy to combat
  • Skills gained over time, given as needed for the upcoming fights
  •  The use of TP to augment magical skills was clever!

There are some areas I believe could use some improvement however. The first being, your action sequencing was super slow to me. I would cut the times in half, honestly, or add a speed-up option/script. Another gripe I had was how frequently  Multi-Strike could miss. That was frustrating and could allow enemies to get in a free hit. Thankfully, it was balanced quite well and you did give some healing items at the start.

Also I did note the scrolling text at the end gets cut off, making it very difficult to read.

Overall, you did a good job and the game has some potential, however I would strongly suggest speeding up the combat a little bit to keep it more engaging :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I'm totally going to get a speed-up plugin and just make it standard for any game I produce that has a battle system, because why not?

A fix for the scrolling text will be included in a patch after the evaluation period is over. I probably will include something for multi-strike missing, too, because it's so annoying.

Thanks again for  your feedback, and I am happy that you had a good time playing the game! šŸ™‚

Glad I could save the cat. Nice battle system balance. Final boss fight was challenging enough without being frustrating. I like seeing how you did the elemental changes too.

Developer

Awesome, thanks! Cat thanks you, too. šŸ˜ƒ

I like how you did better job at boss rush game than drifty himself lol

The whole gameplay is based on elemental triangle and its really cool even tho I only realized it before the final battle XD

smart use of tp when some ppl think about it as useless mechanic and dont know what to do with it

btw its easier to beat the final boss if you pick the black guy hm....

Developer

Wow, that's some high praise there! Thanks!

Heh, I should have randomized the element Iranor starts with, but representation matters, amirite?

Waz zis? Arcade RPG?

Putting the (metaphorical) serious hat on, this is pretty fun. Short but sweet. Easy to understand but hard to master. The story's cliche but the game play makes up for it. Good job, mate.
