What kind of games do you like?

I just want to see what most people want in a game

fps is my fav genre best if there is some monsters to kill

Story and exploration, seasoned with some fights.

Simulation elements for example a damage model.

Simple n easy to learn gameplay but hard to master AND harder or higher difficulty still allows creativity.

  1. It runs on Linux or Android systems.

  2. There’s an interesting story— explicit or implied.

  3. Killing enemies is not a goal. If there’s anything gorey, it makes sense with the narrative.

  4. The graphics are appealing.

  5. The audio is fun, or I can easily turn that off.

  6. The game is free, as in there’s no required cost.

For that #6, charging is fair (most of the time), but I rarely have money to spend on non-emergencies. I’m certainly not in everyone’s target audience.

  1. Bonus: it’s educational or romantic.

#1, Free

#2, Makes the player feel in-control of their surroundings (whether or not this is true)

#3, Feedback for actions (screen shake, clean effects)

#4, Good storytelling, an unintrusive moral, or no story at all (like old-school fighting games such as Double Dragon).

Any Rogue Likes or Battle grounds

1 - my fav kinds of games are rhythm games (by some reason)

2 - i like games with active communities, it gives more meaning to why i should play the game (either because i'm pro and ppl like my achievements or because i made something that helped somehow the community)

3 - i like games with good graphics, as long as they can run on mid hardware

4 - i don't care too much with lore and story, but i like discovering new stuff in the story of the games (as long as their story don't compromise the social side of the game, e.g., i can't record a video of the last and hardest levels because that would give spoilers for the players)

5 - i would like to help the game devs if i liked the game, but i wouldn't pay anything in a game. Games where you must pay to win are usually games i never play or win

I am the worst person to ask what I like in a game but I like surreal games that are more plot focused than mechanics focused. Also just cause I like simple games doesn't mean I enjoy janky games. So many indie walking sim games are so broken, I don't know how you manage to screw up the easiest game in existence.
