I think it would be sick if there was an entity that was one of the grays ufos, but it chases and tries to abduct you. (It could just be attracted to your flashlight or atv light)

Wonderful game, having a lot of fun with it.

I'd love a confirmation prompt when quitting to main menu. e.g. "Save & Quit / Don't Save / Cancel" style

It would also be nice to have the camera automatically center itself forward while accelerating on the ATV, if the mouse hasn't moved in a few seconds. Less time fiddling with the mouse so i can focus on not crashing into trees

Like I said, no guns outside of Sandbox mode. You can obviously just mailbox them from a sandbox save or cheat them in with unlocker and nobody is stopping you, but you won't just be getting a gun in normal story mode.

Dear mrdrnose, please add battery charge percentages to the inventory, otherwise it is unclear which ones are charged and which ones are not. I would also like to change the name of torn off pieces of paper and for notes found in the world to have their own names and not be connected together with your notes. The same applies to notebooks so that they do not connect in one place, because I use one notebook as a notebook, and the other for reports. Thank you for your work

At the very least a battery with 0 charge should be relabeled so it doesn't stack with batteries that have charge.

The tutorial is super unclear. I never figured out for sure what to do with negatives or results over ten because of the unclear language used. I could never figure out exactly what I was doing wrong because I've never been able to isolate just a negative/over ten result. I assume the "tenths" column would be zero? 

EDIT: After going in and out of the tutorial servers until getting something testable, I can confirm that it wants the unsigned result. I assume the way it's wrapped in MOD is supposed to hint at that, but I don't know what operator that could be referring to, as the only thing I can think of is modulo, which returns the remainder of a division.
EDIT of EDIT: I forgot that || is absolute value notation. MOD, here, is still totally lost on me, though.

EDIT2: So, after trying again and again, I can only conclude that this must be broken. Neither zero nor nine seem to work for over-ten results, and I can't figure out what else "tenths" might refer to.

EDIT3: The tenths column is the final digit of the result. DAMN.

An easy way to clarify this would be to add the expected result to the examples.

1 + 1 = 2 = 2

1 - 2 = -1 = 1

8 + 8 = 16 = 6

The game literally tells you how to do this. If you get a number higher than 10 then you would just put the number in the ones place as your answer, so 11 would be 1 and 12 would be 2, so on and so forth. you will never have a negative either because regardless of what the math says you always take the bigger number minus the smaller one.

Bruh, lmao. The exact words in the tutorial are "simply remove the tenths column." In hindsight I understand this, but the meaning of the words specifically is unclear, especially in the use of the word "column." This led me to think it was referring to one of the columns on the screen, as that's designed in rows and columns similar to a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet comparison is made stronger by the use of MOD(), which, unless it has some secondary meaning, is nonsensical.

As for the second point, you got the correct answer, but the way you're doing it isn't mathematically correct. It's the result of an unnecessary simplification without an understanding of the operations. It also flies directly in the face of the tutorial text, which specifically provides a negative result as an example. This is also another point that's unclear, as it doesn't explain that it expects the absolute value, I didn't remember that 1-8=-7 but |1-8|=7, and many people won't know that an equation surrounded by pipes means absolute value. On top of that, the include of MOD() around the equation threw me off even more because I was trying to figure out how a broken modulo operation fits in.

So, no, the game does not literally tell you how to do this. There are gaps in the explanation of what's wanted.

Hard and obtuse are totally different things. Incomplete/unclear instructions impose false difficulty at best, and there's no fun in that.

Loving the new visible player model for kel. I've always been a fan of seeing my feet when i look down, although seeing my own face when i look up is new. Lol also the new door mechanics are great. The fridge door especially was always a pain in the ass but not anymore. And the Velma setting is interesting... very cool idea and i'm going to continue playing on it with tripping on props because why not. lol I also really like the color dither setting as setting it lower looks almost like an old recorded video. I've only played a bit and it's been good so far.

Please swap the up & down controls of the witch's broom. it is super jarring to hit S while flying it and have it nose me down into the ground

(I imagine the broom will either go away after halloween, which i hope not because it is a fun endgame thing, but i assume these controls will be reused for doing funny ATV stunts in the air at a later point so)

i've never had problems with calall, what exactly is happening when you input that? A lot of the fences can be climbed by double tapping jump while in midair and facing the fence, but the ones on the border are only able to be jumped in certain spots. There is a hole in the metal grate on the "dam" that blocks the river on either side of the map. you can easily get out of the main area by going through those holes and Kerfus can even come with if you want. lol

suggestions:

i think you should add maybe a physical shop. like you need to wiat on the bus stop or smth. 

maybe also add new atv reapir system that would be good instead of just punching it with the atv repair kit. 

and also some kind of an energetic drink like a redbull or smth.

a walkman with casettes like a music on the go without the raido.

a vhs tape that you can randomly dig out and put into the medium tv.

Now the wood chipper can no longer chip wooden debris, while it still works with wooden scrap and mannequins. I tested this on multiple modes. I assume this is a bug and not a feature.

Total Volume is shown as 0 for all boxes, upon reloading the game. Taking an item in/out fixes this for this instance, until the game is reloaded.

Add an item that adds time output over food and stamina. 4. Add a motion sensor, an improved version of the sensor that can record video at the moment of motion detection and save it on the computer at the base. 5. A camera that can show the hidden and invisible 6. Close the entrance for the drone in the garage, because it no longer arrives there. 7. interesting mechanics with electronics, wires that can be conducted, add electric devices powered by batteries 8. Add explosives with which you can open new caves littered with stones. 9. Improved robot vacuum cleaners 10. Black market :] 11. Illegal mining of glasses. 12. The ability to send photos to superiors, their reactions to various events and anomalies. I have many more ideas, but i'm tired :)

Compass targets random places on map. Once the mark is reached it targets some other random places. Requires sv.target reset in order to clear this. The problem is that it resets each restart. Requires sv.target reset each game load. Should be default behavior.

Some berry hitboxes are very small compared other berries. This is probably not intended as it's annoying.  Also the berries don't disappear off the model when they are picked.

make the cloud making fella more aggresive to give joel a heart attack, or add that one dream joel had as a kid where hes house was in/was a ufo

Not sure when this specific feature was included, but I have a bit of feedback with the GPU / crypto-mining in the game.
I failed to provide enough coolers and lost all my GPUs and the couple thousand points I paid for them. I wanted to suggest to lower the consequences for missing the need for more coolers (maybe lower efficiency, breakers popping, temporary shutdown of the whole mining frame). Losing hours of progress like that was pretty brutal, I thought.

after playing the halloween mode i didnt realise how brutal this game is when its stuck at 00:00 with no server decay and no sleeping

you get no new drives or drive boxes that you dont buy,  you cant get points by repairing servers, your only stamina sources are soda and coffee stuff, you cant time accelerate, no daily task or weekly bonuses, and if you dont get accumulator batteries/an income source/the tr1(?) lighter you are stuck in the dark except for the jeep. if you dont create a GPU miner early on you are FUBAR. it really tests your game knowledge >.>

im not saying this is a bad thing btw, id love if this were turned into a bespoke "challenge" mode where the only real threat is your inability to ration and plan. it was really fun (aside from furfur disabling my ability to save every 5 seconds when at base + getting the stupid zombie deer by coincidence >:/ )

I can't understand why I don't want to sleep. Every(almost) time I want to sleep, something or someone stops me AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. I'm either very inattentive or unlucky because I can't find the source of the problem, maybe some tips on what to do or whats going on so I can find it and go to sleep. But everything(almost) else is awesome and this is the best gaming experience of all time.

itd be pretty neat if there were an upgrade you could find around/as a module: "ATV Seatbelt"

makes it so you dont go flying off the jeep when you crash, but you have to remember to buckle it when you get on (and unbuckle when you get off)

another nifty feature would be if wooden palettes could be used to send off multiple item/drive boxes with the drone at once (using plastic scrap as "ceran wrap" to hold it all together?)

Please add Misophonia  accessibility options to disable the new eating sounds and the like, eating sounds give me personally extreme anxiety and muting the game would ruin the atmosphere. I do hope it wouldn't be much trouble.

The blue plastic bins have this thing where when you put items in them the item becomes "connected" to the bin, but moving the bin in weird ways, like with grav gun or if you trip over it, can cause the items to fall out of the bin but still be "attached" to the bin. If you pick up the bin and like scoop the items up with the bin it should fix them.

Berries are neat but yellow berries giving +25 stamina is kinda busted. Its a good idea but due to this they really devalue the other stamina giving items.

Food tollerance really doesn't ballence them even though it should in theory (unless food tollerance gets updated so that some foods can be eaten less than others before kel refuses to eat them)

Alternatively yellow berries could give diminishing amounts of stamina the more theyre eaten in a row, IE the first berry is +25%, the next is 20, 15, 10, and bottoming out at 5. wait a day or smth and itll go back up to +25%. Gives a tradeoff like the other stamina granters (sodas are fairly expensive, coffee makes your camera jitter the more of it you have, coffee bites/bar dont have many uses to them, and others like the alien yogurt are rare)

Food tolerance hasn't really balanced anything for me outside of MREs, I have never experienced kel refusing to eat another food item from food tolerance even with my diets for several days consisting of mainly just 1 food item, maybe eating something else minor if it's available. Even intentionally eating as much of one food item as I can to try and experience it had no results.

Hi mrdrnose,

First Off, Love the game! Anytime I need to watch a YouTube video to learn what is going on and can still say I am having a great time I feel something is being done right. Like it's complicated enough to not get it on the first try but fun enough to keep me coming back. 

Suggestions:

Just as an accessory it would be nice to have Cheats/Sandbox mode as a checkbox in story mode. So if I want to break from my current story to try something out it is possible. 

Also Multiple save slots would also be nice. I am new to the game so there are a lot of things I don't understand or want to test, but at the same time I don't want to ruin my current run. 

This one maybe for more long-term but having something more console friendly would be nice, I am playing on the Steam Deck and there are things you can't do without a  keybored. I honestly think this game would do great with a larger audience. 

This one might  also be planned but being able to increase or decrease the Food and Energy bar would be nice. Like I'm in it for the programming, exploring and scares; having to manage my hunger kinda takes me out of it.

Love the new build, crafting mechanics, base, all of the new stuff is pretty fun. I used to play back in the 0.6.3b build, so seeing how well the map, achievements, items, and difficulty has changed to make it a more captivating experience is amazing. Love the updates, and good job mrdrnose! Keep up the good work.

Also, pretty happy to see good and high quality idie games that have a cohessive and in depth plot, story line, scary parts, and system get proper communities and publicity. The constant updates are bringing this game to light and to life. Good job!

For some extra details, having a new map is really nice, and to have added difficulty to craft Omega Kerfus is great. Only problem, a lot of the issues are dwarfed by using UUU to break in to the system and spawn whatever you want with the summon command. The base having been changed since 0.6.3 was a fun update back in 0.7.0, and the tower having an actual purpose aside from being the "Your base is here" beacon was also a very fun update. The new update and build has changed a few things, and most of them have been for the better. Love the update for that.

Not sure what you are expecting with UUU being a problem, it is an external program you can use to spawn almost any item in the game, there isn't much you could do against that.

I'm just saying it open a vulnerability to cheat in anything you want, so it destroys the problems you have.  Not too big of a problem.

Gostaria de dar uma sugestão, sou brasileiro, e aqui geralmente gostamos de escutar uma musiquinha enquanto trabalhamos ou outros porém, então minha sugestão é criar 2 tipos de radio, ou mp3, um radio antigo com musicas do jogo para apreciar as músicas do próprio jogo com um valor 150+- por ai, e um radio melhorado sendo 300+-, onde assim como quadros podemos colocar nossas músicas, tanto baixadas quanto um link de um vídeo do Youtube por exemplo, assim como os quadros não vejo como possa estragar a experiência do jogo pois é só não comprar ou ligar.

Algum easter egg ou evento pode ocorrer com ele também, tipo aliens conversando ou receptar algum áudio do espaço.

Enfim é apenas uma sugestão, obrigado desde já.

1 Add plastic storage function to 3D printer. It's very strange that it can print infinitely and anything, and I would also love to have a way to turn printed models back into a plastic resource.


2 It really annoys me that I accidentally bury items from my inventory underground when digging patches of land for farming. I lost my rake, couldn't find it, bought a new one, and found the old one while digging.

one :   it would be REALLY cool if there was a physical upgrade system, like you would actually open up the back of the terminal and install an upgrade that the drone would send you, and all the different types of upgrades would go in different spots. for example the video quality upgrade (I know its not called that) would go in the back of the screen of the downloading terminal, and maybe an event where aliens come a steal/gift you some upgrades!

two :  make some sort of portable camera viewer/computer so you can see camera and emails somewhere else in the base, and maybe it would need to be pugged in so you could only use it in the base or just make it so you can move the computer

Two: I DOUBLE Agree.
Three: I like this variety of sounds of eating. You immediately understand that you are not eating some cosmetics for food, but really different food. It may not be at the level of Tarkov, but it's definitely better than the old version of eating sound.
Flour: The ability to reboot transformers even when they are not yet broken. Then you will definitely become a hikkan.

Is it normal that my mining rig keeps mining while my PC is off? I log in after a real night and see 788 points, although it should be because  i collect them  regularly.

I would update the tutorial, a TONE of important functions are left out and the tutorial only really covers ones that allow you to play the game in a whole, It really isn't new player friendly and it took me awhile to get the hang of it but other than that you have made a one of a kind game.

Whining incoming:

I really, really love this game, its setting and the atmosphere, the gameplay and the interactivity, but it feels so, so frustrating when you somehow manage to miss every single autosave window, die from a random event and get sent back an entire day. I know now that I should manually save after every important task, but please, you have to improve the autosave system somehow so that this doesn't happen to any other poor soul again. I feel awful having hours of my time basically wasted.

Now for actually practical feedback:

The autosave system needs improvement. Due to the game being unable to pause during dangerous situations and while on the ATV, the time interval autosaves are impractical. Perhaps autosaving after doing certain actions, such as going to sleep or pressing the pause button, could work better. Completing tasks like fixing servers and downloading data could also trigger a save, but those actions can still be done even in dangerous situations so it might make less sense. Otherwise, I have zero complaints, none at all. This game is amazing and I wish nothing but the best for the development team.

I don't remember if this was changed in the last update or this update, but I was disappointed that the deer info in the help menu was put behind a spoiler warning and changed to "get rid of its corpse". "Go outside and eat its corpse" was iconic and seeing "How to get rid of a zombie deer" at the bottom of the help menu was a defining moment of the early VOTV experience.

I mean "get rid of its corpse" is more true now than it just telling you to eat it, you can get rid of it in other ways and eating it now gives you food poisoning (and an achievement if you fully finish it.)

does the number of bites reset if you reload your save or is it just a ridiculously high number of bites? i eventually just got fed up with trying to figure that out and just burned the thing

I don't know if it resets on reload, but I'm pretty sure it's worth like 200 food or so

i counted it and its 50 bites (because i got the signal AGAIN >:[ )

did it in one sitting without reloading though so i dont know if it resets still

out of curiosity i took a peek inside the game and the deer carcus has its "uses" as a food set to 60 so idk why i only had to use eat on it 50 times

I say this as someone who played from 0.6.3 to 0.8.1 Pre-alpha.

As bitter as it is to admit, but making the Omega-Kerfus craft more difficult is the right decision, since with its appearance you become a full-fledged hikkan.

Oh yeah, the old notebooks look unremarkable and can easily be confused with regular old books and ignored as trash (I remind you that lore or crafting recipes may be hidden in them). I suggest making them an unusual color, unlike books. Let's say bright red or yellow, dark green will also work.

And now with suggestions:

1. <<Location for the Pickaxe and Minerals hint>>

To build a OMEGA robot, you need quartz, but the only way to get it is access to a pickaxe and a cave.

Yes, you can find the pickaxe using the hint about the flooded safe in the lake, but it can be easily missed. I suggest adding a mining location and equipment next to the cave with notes about what minerals were mined there and how to find the pickaxe, like:

"Damn, Billy dropped his pickaxe in the lake last night while he was drunk... We tried to help him get it, but we NEVER found anything. It seems the pickaxe ended up at the very bottom, I hope he doesn't get fired for losing the pickaxe... It's really VERY expensive!"

Or.

"This cave is just a real uranium vein! The Swiss nuclear industry is just short of fragments of these crystals, and there's also a lot of coal and quartz here... I wonder why this place hasn't been discovered by others yet? We urgently need to extract the best samples of minerals and send them to management."

You can come up with the reason why they didn't come back yourself.

2. <<Structuring the crafting system>>.

Adding a lot of new recipes is of course very cool and good, but with the current crafting system it is quite difficult to experiment with this. I suggest adding a function to the workbench to separate "crafting" / "research", something like the system in the game "Abiotic Factor", but more physical, as always.

For example.

Having disassembled scrap metal on the workbench, we will add an "idea" in the branching of "crafting", from which other recipes will follow, for example, a trash can.

However, some recipes will not be reproduced without special books (such as Omega Kerfu(s/r) or Compressed Radioactive Material)

This is just my example, but in the future I would like to simplify crafting in terms of experiments and management.

3. <<Advanced everyday life at work>>.

I do not believe that the management that sent Dr. Kel will demand from him only reports on satellite hash codes as additional work.

You can also add more additional tasks from dr. Bao, which will alternate with hash codes.

Honestly, these are really good suggestions.  Having occasional change from hash codes would be more interesting.  Maybe the random tasks start after week 2?  I thought the wind turbines might be setting up for that.

I was thinking the same thing about daily tasks, the lack of variety, having days on random or a set day of the week lacking a daily task would also be nice to give players a break without them losing out a good chunk on their weekly bonus. Could even have weekly tasks that have to be completely by the end of the week on top of it.

I feel like the blurriness when you take the glasses off should be put in a separate category to the rest of the post-processing options. I want to use Velma Mode effectively, but if I don't have the post-processing set to 1, my game gets even laggier than it already is, even with volumetric light disabled.

I think it would be great to have a fail safe to make sure event end, since I've personally have had problems going on for over three hours.
Maybe just a timeout to end events after a certain amount of time. At best it could be different times per events, and at least a 20ish minute one that is disabled for more important events.

Whenever I try to repair servers, the math problems with be unable to add up due to solutions being Greater than 9, which has me entering and exiting the ui constantly hoping for an equation that isn't 9 + a when a > 0.

I feel the Bad Sun's light should be brighter again, maybe not as much as back in 0.6 but it's new brightness personally doesn't really convey the feeling that something is seriously wrong as much anymore.

The optimization is still not the best. My laptop runs games with equivalent graphics at 60 fps without any trouble on almost maxed out settings, while VotV barely goes up to 20 in dark areas on minimal graphics. I really hope that performance will get better on full release. The game is still amazing though.

The update is gorgeous in terms of content. However, there is a big problem with optimizing the game. Thus, FPS drops from 250 to 15 in 45 days. As I understood it, this is due to the number of mushrooms, because I was stunned by their number when I removed trees and grass with the help of a mod. But everyone counts as a physical object

i think this can also be fixed by instead of making them render as an object make them render as a plane with a png on it when the player is far away this will probably make it alot less hard on the game because it only will have to render the 2 triangles for the plane and the image saving alot of render time for frames and cpu stress

I love this game already. I just have 2 suggestions:
1. Instead of falling over after eating bad food, have the player vomit and create a mess on the floor to clean up.
2. Add a signal/event that hijacks player tv/radio to play spooky videos/sounds. Maybe some kind of message, like the "1977 Alien Brodcast Live on BBC" incident.

or if you eat one bad food you will vomit but if you eat more than one unedible food you will fall and vomit everywhere

That's a really good idea. Maybe there could be different stages of sickness. For example:
0 - Healthy
1 - Sick (1 bad food eaten, vomiting)
2 - Food Poisoning (2 bad food eaten, dizziness, falling over, vomiting, sleep drain)
3 - Mega Food Poisoning (5 or more bad food eaten, effects amplify, add health drain)

I think the controls need to be simplified, like make it more context sensitive for the grab commands or replace e with a hold meter before holding. also the ctrl key is uncomfortable to press when jumping.

I love this game, it's my go-to game for chilling in the dark. I have a few ideas that I think might be cool.

1. An old paper map that you can mark yourself. Could be folded up like the picnic blanket and can be drawn on with the pencil like paper sheets. The map could have have little markings on it to signify POIs or be left completely blank for people to fill in themselves. Doesn't even need to show your location. Being able to add pins would be cool too.

2. Beacon shape, and appearance on radar. The way beacons roll around makes them feel a little less useful. Maybe a little pyramid shape or something so they hold their ground a bit better? Also, all beacons being purple dots can just make your radar a little messy when you want to place them at satellites AND POIs. Maybe just being able to toggle what shape they appear as on the radar? (Square, triangle, star, etc)

3. Compressed scrap? Same as coal and coal pieces. Just so there isn't so much lying around.

It's been my first ever experience playing this game along side with friend... And it was fantastic! I've seen some gameplay from like a year ago build of the game, and seeing so many little, but REALLY significant changes is super nice! 

Starting with what I think about new Kerfur-O craft: yeah, it's a pretty good change (kinda related to that tho, I hope more stuff is going to be added in the caves, cause it took us around an hour of regenerating the layout to find one signle crystal shard. Finding something else along the way would make it feel more worth the time) HOWEVER, I do think that the scuba mask price should be lowered in like half. I can understand it being 1000 + 100 if there's gonna be more things to dive for, however rn it's just a little too much. Lowering the amount of plastic scrap needed from 14 to 10 would also be a small, but appreciated change IMO.

I liked the pacing of the game I've experienced so far. The very first week was CHAOTIC. First time playing and we could barely finish the task like once every two days (now probably it wouldn't be so much of a trouble, but managing servers, generators, hashcodes and signals at the same time is a really nice way to keep player busy in this early game). The second week was the getting used to week. The first good end of a week bonus, and finally some free time, which was spend slowly but surely getting rid of all the trash and cleaning the base bit by bit each day. Around end of week 2 is also when Kerfur was bought, and it's been pretty much a perfect 500 points bonus each week after that. The next two weeks were spend gathering items around the map and preparing money for the Kerfur-O. Small note, I really like how you can also open the second bunker door with a crowbar, it was a very pleasant surprise. Hook is one of the best things in this game, the amount of smart things you can do with it and ATV is insane! And overall, I love how whenever you have an item, it's better to get another one to best utilize it! I can dig the whole area with a shovel, but buying a metal detector makes it easier. That's why I love this game so much, the depth of these mechanics is awesome!

Anyway, one small suggestion I might have about mid game is to have new hashcodes be more likely to appear on a satellite that you haven't visited in a while. At one point Ihad an idea pop into my head about an item that would allow you to name it, and then target it by its name, but honestly? The game loop is so perfect, that you really do get familiar with this map by the end of week 3-4.  During week 1 it seemed SO big, so hard to move around fast; but during week 3-4, I was really surprised to notice how it feels like less than a minute passes between one satellite to another. And so, after four weeks our base is clean, our upgrades are upgraded, we found the last Kerfur-O crafting material, and the only thing that was left was to collect scrap. The part I liked is that we had to stop by transformers A LOT during the mid game, especially tr_1 and tr_3, thanks to the tree house and the cave being nearby, and every time we went there I could already picture moving all the useful items from there to craft scrap. When that time came, it was really satisfying for some reason. These two corners of the map are probably our most favourite ones, and I really hope that something similar could be added near tr_2 to make that corner also be rememberable. But unfortunatelly, that's where we stopped at the moment :D

However, I do know, that this is basically the perfect timing, cause from what I know week 5 is when the most exciting events are happening and you can freely explore the map to experience them! The whisps event is also perfectly placed in my opinion. By that time we only had to explore the cave and move the materials from transformers, and those guys really made that process more fun! I've seen someone mention their Red Kerfur moving crazy in this version after similar thing been happening to us :D While running away in the dark of the night from the whisp it was hilarious to witness Red Kerfur fall into the river, while spinning at insane speed. Can't wait to play further and finally buy 3D printer! I love how you can actually decorate your base in this kind of way. Buying a TV, a radin, and a few painting frames to add more cats, funky music, and movies with bad resolution does a fantastic job at providing fun in between events, and even helping you to drop your guard. Don't have anything else to say but to thank you for creating this amazing game! It's definitely phenomenal, it's the most fun I had in a while, and I will return to it with more different friends! I will leave the picture of our office somewhere at the start of week 4, cause we got hit by that stupid geometric shape, and then while testing it we created something really hilarious that just made our office look even more surreal

Not exactly your suggestion. But if the targeted point is meant to stay stationary, you could write down coordinates gotten from the digital map and target those with the new command added in the latest update

I would like to see the server and transformer integrity gameplay loops put back into Ambience Mode. Almost makes the mode TOO safe.

I feel the Firetank's movement speed nerf is a bit extreme to the point where it makes me question if it was intentionally reduced this much. It moves just slightly faster than your walking speed so if you aren't too tired to sprint, it can barely put up a chase.

I love the amount of freedom the player has, and how it rewards player creativity. I'm also very glad to hear we won't have guns or proper fireweapons.

With that said, I feel like we're lacking more efficient means of combat other than the crowbar and the molotovs, especially for dealing with the boars. I think some kind of trap that could be triggered by an entity or the player would be a cool thing to have. Like the ability to use hooks as tripwire, or beartraps (although I understand how this wouldn't be very effective against the boars...)

Or at least let us make Kerfur-O hold an open garbage bin pointed forward, so the player can attract the boar and the Kerfur-O will trap it in the bin. Make us feel like we outsmarted the little b4stards, you know?

Keep up the great work on the game, Nose, and take your time. I can't wait to see what future updates will bring, but health must always come first :)

I saw a video of someone catching a boar in a green trash can. lol then they could "use" the trash can and the boar came flying out. not sure if it was a mod or something though

Ah yes, I did that too to catch the boars lol. It was the best way to deal with them, at least during 0.8. But I don't think it was intentional, and it was kind of impractical to go around the map carrying trash cans to capture.

But yeah, I guess it was kinda cool to go around the map catching monsters as if I want to be the very best like no one ever was ;)

1. Было бы здорово иметь возможность добавить на цифровую карту обозначения с радара, например: возможность фиксации последнего состояния радара (подойти к радару, сохранить показания и ходить до обновления состояния вручную или сброса)
Даже цена в 2000-4000 была бы приемлема за такой функционал.

2. Учитывая что в игре есть большое количество газировки, пиво, кофе, множество фруктов в которых много сока, река черз всю карту, вполне уместно может быть и жажда (при падении которой так же как и с едой, персонаж может замедляться и валиться с ног)

3. Пожалуйста верни старое взаимодействие со шкафчиками, намного более нервно открывать их самому по немногу, чем резкое открытие по нажатию!

4. Предложение по ивенту: на поздней/средней стадии игры 25-35 день на базе начинает появляться слизь/плоть (как в фильме Creepshow 2: The raft "1987") постепенно выползающая из всех вентиляционнных отверстий, постепенно заполоняющая базу если игрок не убирал базу или не избавился от тараканов в вентиляции, для борьбы с ней необходимо использовать portable pressure washer модернизированный на верстаке с помощью резины, металлома, трубы, зажигалки и канистры с бензином. Что в свою очередь превратит его хоть и в огнемёт но с очень большим расходом бензина (например 1 канистра на секунд 10-15 использования)
По мере уничтожения этой мерзости, игрок найдёт что то вроде ядра, которое будет агресивно и будет прыгать на игрока пытаясь убить, и его нужно будет каким либо образом заманить/бросить в сжигатель и убить, ведь если этого не сделать оно со временем восстановиться и весь процесс зачистки необходимо будет повторить.

5. Ещё редложение по ивенту: Учитывая что в комплексе есть устройство для стирания данных, довольно печально что оно используется только для одного ивента а учитывая что с нами на карте живут ариралы, вполне логично было бы иметь возможность поймать сигнал их переговоров между собой или с родной планетой(?) и допустим получить сообщение от них после поимки сигнала с просьбой уничтожить запись и если этого не сделать, игрок сильно испортит свою репутацию/вызовет ивент как при запросе "Ariral pls" но со смертельным исходом

First off, Loving the game! Been a big fan of watching others play it and have been having lots of fun playing myself, even the scares I've seen others experience catch me off guard. Haven't progressed too far yet myself but would like to give a dumb suggestion , others in the thread feel free to give feedback or info on why it may or may not be a good idea.

1. An entity similar to a "Pale Crawler", this suggestion is purely based on my love for that sort of cryptid lol, but anyway I think it would be a good addition with how it would be a good "its mistakeable for an animal at first glance but when you realize what it is its gone" sort of deal. I also think it would work really well with the camera feature (one of my favorite features, too little games let you have multiple perspectives from one base) as, while its a creepypasta and fake image, The Rake image is still somewhat unsettling to me and it would be wild seeing something like it in real time. For how it would look anything humanoid but with little to no features would work, there is this one image of a pinkish-pale "alien" on top of a roof that I would work well with not being too recognizable but still humanoid. How it would fit lore wise? I don't know. How it would appear? maybe as an unfrequent event? But that's just some ideas, don't know how well it would fit into the game.

First of all I want to say that even though the game is still in early access, it already feels amazing. It has so many features, easter eggs, events, a great story, and everything else that makes it enjoyable. However as a new player who was just starting to figure things out, I found the fast passage of time during the day a bit challenging.

For daily tasks I needed to send a few disks with signals and gather hash codes from specific satellites. Since I was still learning how to play and what I had to do, I physically couldn't complete all the tasks before the day ended. So, after about two in-game weeks I managed to complete the daily task only three times.

I also didn't realize at first that I needed to repair satellite servers to speed up signal processing and downloading. If I had to both complete the daily task and visit every satellite with broken servers, it took way too much time. And on top of that I had to keep track of food, stamina, and fuel for the ATV.

Because the days passed so quickly, I ended up missing some events as well. Thankfully, I found the "Day Length" option in the "Experimental" settings, which allowed me to make the days longer. This was super helpful, and I would like to ask the developers to keep this feature in the game for the final release. It would be great for players to adjust the day length to suit their own pace and play comfortably.


But overall I don't have any complaints about the game. I'm looking forward to the game's release. This is one of those games that I'm ready to buy even without waiting for discounts. Thank you so much for this wonderful game dear developers, and also Happy Holidays! 🎄

I must say, when I was first starting VoTV I also felt like the days passed too quickly in the early game, so I also made them a bit longer, the experimental settings are really great! Hope Dr. Nose keeps them. They're also great for when you don't have much to do so you can speed up time.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was talking about. Especially when you're trying to figure out how to play and start exploring the area, the days go by pretty fast.
I remember when I first started playing, it took me an entire in-game week to clear the base of small debris, trash piles and dirt stains. Maybe if I had noticed the day speed setting a little earlier, I wouldn't have missed so many days, lol

Hey the other day I was watching signal simulator for old times sakes and I was thinking just how cool the events from the old slow vehicle going to certain coordinates where. So I think it would be cool if that was implemented, you could even re-add the huge map (Poster) that used to be in the room with some new coordinated of interest.
Maybe put it hidden inside of the vent near the stairs that as far as I can tell has no purpose yet. Could be a great way to add lore and even be able to score some early points while you wait for the scans to download.

I love the game, I started when the base got its redesign. really liked the slow cleaning process making the dump of the base a home. the couple of suggestions I have is

1. add a new feature too the Wall fixer to repair the base's walls (addition item you can add, can be a bucket of plaster. it can be used like a sponge and water bucket.)

2. Paint kit to redo the faded mural (after you done with it you can leave it at the treehouse, and later on see a new addition to the mural)

Enjoyable gameplay overall, the onboarding process could use some help (but is fine at this stage of development).  2 weeks in and I'm feeling pretty confident in all the base systems.

Several bugs to report:
-Clicking on the profile picture of an email will cause email spam that will ultimately slow and crash the game. It cannot be stopped.
-Using an empty notebook (all 12 pages ripped out) causes the game to get stuck, cannot move or interact (I assume the game thinks you are interacting with a page that does not exist)
-I might be doing something wrong, but I cannot retrieve garbage bags from the roll of bags.

And one QOL suggestion:
-Autosaves improvements: The game does not autosave while driving (or during 'events'. This has caused me to lose entire days twice (when being forced to reset after one of the above crashes). Suggested remedies: 1. When you get on the vehicle, or an 'event' is about to start, check if the autosave has happened within the last few minutes, and if not, auto-save then. Or 2. Whenever an autosave fails due to being on a vehicle or in an event, instead of showing an error message, flag the game to run an auto-save once the player has dismounted the vehicle or the event ends.

I'm sure the first bug you pointed out is more of an easter egg than a bug. There are also other events in the game that cause your game to crash.

As for the third bug, everything is fine. You don't need to retrieve garbage bags. Just pick up a roll of garbage bags and click on the pile of garbage. The roll of bags is a more practical alternative to the regular bags, although the roll does cost a bit more. It's easier to keep a roll of bags in your inventory and you can also see how many bags are left if you left-click on an empty spot.

Oh, I forgot to mention two big crashes, which I am pretty sure were intentionally programmed, but actually caused unreal engine fatal crashes.  A force-close is one thing, but an actual "Fatal error" is kind of overdoing it, unless the message itself is just faked, in which case you should seriously consider changing the error message to make it clear that the crash was "intentional", or at the very least, not related to actual hardware/software issues.

Also, if events can cause crashes, it absolutely NEEDs an update to the auto-save system to actually auto-save prior to any such event, even if it's a hidden autosave that doesn't announce itself, to maintain the surprise. It's too realistically possible to be on your ATV all day and miss all the autosaves leading up to an event that crashes the game (again, assuming they were intentional, I've listed the 2 I ran into below).

I got some ominous music one night and lost the ability to pause (this was before I realized this meant an event was in progress).  As the music wound down, I wandered over to sort some of my tables, and the game froze and these bars of rainbow nonsense, similar to some sort of rendering error, grew on the screen in a thatched pattern, leading up to the crash.  I was able to screenshot the artifacts, meaning they were in the render buffer, and not a physical issue, which is why I think it may have somehow been intentional.



The second time I got the same pattern, I got some tool-tips indicating I should check out something going on in the mountains.  Not sure if it was the picknickers or something else, I checked over the mountains near the strange box with the tile-lock.  As I approached the mountain, a black particle fell into the mountain, which I assumed was just a firefly sprite disappearing. When I went over the mountain, the black particle was now a flat featureless square sprite pulsing as it moved down the mountainside. I approached it, and accidentally rolled into it on the ATV, and the game froze and the rainbow artifacts grew out again.

These are intentional, they work kind of as a "punishment" for playing for several hours straight non-stop. 
The first one you mentioned is a rare random chance after playing one session for a long time, the second one appears after 6 hours but isn't directly "hostile", it will follow you around but will try to stay a short distance from you at all times so it won't touch you, it only crashes you if you touch it anyway.

The "Fatal error" crash message, if the instance of it is intentional, is typically accompanied by something else happening before it so it is quite obvious. It also slightly behaves differently than the normal fatal errors from what I have seen, the actual fatal error crashes don't seem to freeze the game after they happen.

The first bug is actually not a bug but still isn't intentional, it was unintentionally left in when the update released.

You can save yourself a headache of crash due to the PFP spam event 6y just saving and rejoining, last time it happened to me i did that and after re-entering the save file it just stopped. Still had to delete all the 6loody spam though

The update is cool, Dr. Kel got animations, the barn was remodeled and so on... But please: give Gnarpwell back the California Girls music, because not everyone can stand Johann Sebastian Bach, I definitely don't. And if possible, bring back Brutal Kel, who COULD HOLD GUNS AND USE IT.

1: I'm pretty sure that was changed for copyright reasons so they can't bring it back.

2: You can already get your ability to use weapons back, turn on Extreme Combat in the experimental settings.

I made an account just to post this. Even in this pre-alpha state youve made one of my favorite "job simultaor" type games that lends itself perfectly to cosmic horror. Its a work of art, truly. I just met and entity that shook myworld so hard my game crashed (still trying to figure out if that was intentional given the pre-alpha status) But I am in love. The only feedback I have is the ATV sounds are very repetetive. They are either on or off, no ramping up or down and because of the way it drives you kind of have to brake sporradically and it doesnt sound very good compared to the immaculate sound design present everywhere else.

the tutorial rn is kidda outdated, like the alt + r is not putting down stuff while holding anymore(this shit got me really confused as my fps counter just toggle on and off)

alt R does work. sounds like it's not working because you have a windows shortcut or something enabled for alt R. afaik there is no fps counter in game.

There is, but it is just a part of your HUD you can't turn off without hiding everything else.

ok future Peanuwu here, i just saw a streamer by the name of Zach(gun rant) just did Alt+R to put the beer that he was holding down the ground. I here by apologize to everyone that read my og text above, but still (my lenovo laptop) alt + r only toggle my device stat? 

Control buttons can always be reassigned. For example, I used to open the NVIDIA panel by pressing Alt+X, but I reassigned it to Alt+R as the rarest key combination, since Alt+X was also used in some game. But in this game I encountered this combination and simply reassigned the Alt button to an additional control button on the mouse - very convenient if you need to throw something on the run, for example.

Since it is functional now, the oven door glass could probably be made partially transparent to allow you to see inside without having to open it.

I am loving the update so far however, I am often encountering a bug where after completely downloading a signal, it does not allow for the signal to be transferred over to then be put onto a drive.

I'm sure I could list plenty of things if I gave it more in-depth thought, but one suggestion I have more immediately is increasing the weight of the backpack to around 751. I say this because, if you buy and equip the fanny pack, rather than the backpack dropping to the ground for quick access, it goes into your inventory, where you then have to go through the extra step of manually dropping it there. A needless hassle, imo.

I had the same problem but after he whooped my ass a few times he finally disappeared. You could try making the brew if you haven't but it can be hard when he's hunting you down.

Hi, for me, Krampus the midnight entity need to be removed, cause I have a event, but he come to, so in can't play free aha, or maybe he stay less longer or stunt just 2 times. I tried to sleep over midnight to play the event but i'm waking up at 23:34, i gess it is a event for him but it's just annoying, yes we can remoove him by making "alcool". he don't add a specific things on the game.

Add a entity who stalking and not friendly buy sound effect or ambience music could be cool ? Maybe he is already on the game idk 


I don't finished the 30 days but i've played years ago and you're game really step up ;)

I understand where you were coming from with the kerfur omega crafting recipe being significantly harder, but I think the recipe needs to be not as easy as before, but DEFINITELY not as hard and insane as it is rn there's gotta be some middle ground here.

Even now, with a complicated crafting recipe, some people manage to assemble their Kerfur-O in two in-game days. Making the crafting more complicated should have stopped this.

Honestly, making it any harder isn't really good for anyone at this point. You have to remember that there are more casual players (like me) who already take a while to get Kerfur-O even pre-recipe change. 

If people still can and want to speedrun getting it even now, good for them, they can play how they want. I don't think making the recipe even harder would stop them anyway, so making it harder would just be harming the casual players and not actually deterring kerfur speedrunners.

Just reducing the amount of scrap requirements a bit for the parts would be good. 14 plastic scrap for one kerfur is kind of absurd.

Add a setting in which you can configure what events and creatures will occur in the world and the frequency of their appearance.

There's this idea I've had in the back of my head since 0.7. What if at night time there would rarely be a creature that mimics the red light of a sattelite, and if you get too close it eats you or something? There would have to be some slight differences with the red light so you aren't just playing a guessing game if you don't have the digital map or don't perfectly remember the layout of the world. Maybe for example it could flicker ever so often or the tone of red is slightly different?

Save backups with F6 occasionally if you are in 0.8.2, it's effectively saving but it puts the save in a separate slot on the menu.

I like the new radar systems, but I don't really like it detecting in a square instead of a circle now. I liked it having some blind spots in the corners, it also visually has a clearly defined circle but it detects things outside of it anyway.

Something that could potentially be added is a camcorder to have an in-game way to record your footage. There probably wouldn't be a viewfinder to make sure the game doesn't drop 20 fps every time you pull it out though. Similar to photos you'd be able to upload it to a videos folder, but also a way I'd suggest being able to watch the footage in-game is through a VHS player. I think it'd be really cool to look back at footage you recorded while inside of the game itself. Maybe when you pause the game and then unpause while recording, the footage will have a static effect play for a moment to make it seem less like the footage was spliced or something.

Unless it causes issues, I feel like Solar mode should be Infinite with eternal bad sun rather than Ambience with eternal bad sun. It might just be me but I feel it could be more fun with the random entities and events, plus servers break and there are daily tasks to further incentivize going outside despite the deadly sunlight in the day and killer wisps at night.

The Firetank event should temporarily disable the ATV until at least the UFO has passed, to prevent the player from instantly leaving after resetting the transformer and missing the event.

Please make Curtains 6e kind of "folda6le" so its easier to store them and they can 6e rescued when they inevite6ly fall and slowly start getting eaten 6y the ground 6ringing them closer to 6ackrooms

your atv can sink into a lake and you won’t be able to reach it you should make it float

It should probably float at the depth where you can't swim any deeper, so it can still sink underwater but won't become inaccessible to an unprepared player.

ngl give it like emergency floaties so if it falls in water it will immedietly float up
