This post was made during the first or second iteration of the flashlight, before that was added.

Oh right I forgot that I didn't get to that story event because I only got that far in 0.8.0. That's why I thought they kept respawning even after the event. My bad.

Wdym? They are permanent?

How big of a priority would you say Termina compatibility is? I'd really love to play it with friends seeing as the friends I have that play funger don't like the first in any capacity. It's "technically" playable as it stands, but I couldn't even get past the intro without either getting stuck, crashing, or having a black screen.

So a suggestion that kind of came up in my mind. What if a mirror was added somewhere in the base? A fun idea once Kel's animations are more fleshed out, is if his appearance dynamically changed. So his clothes could be soggy after being in water/being out in the rain. Maybe Kel could grow a beard slowly over time. If you patched yourself up because you bled, you could have some kind of wraps on you. Maybe Kel's hair could grow at an extremely slow rate to the point where you'd only see it get really long if you spent a lot of time on an infinite save. But if you use the syringe the Arirals give you, your hair and beard grow at a ludicrous speed.

It only says 0.8.2 in-game.

This is intentional in case something falls under your base.

Where tf are you ???

Do you have the book that explains all the parts? Or did you find the complete manual with a picture of a blue Kerfur-Omega on the cover. The latter is what you actually need to build kerfur omega

Revert the nerfs to the pickaxe. I feel like having a choice between a faster, lighter hitting crowbar vs. a slower, heavier hitting pickaxe was a  fun dynamic.

Custom content like posters, paintings, ect. should support gifs. I think it could be pretty cool and the community could do some interesting stuff with it.

Elaborate? If you're talking about the pink and black texture, there's no preview because you haven't made a save in-game yet. Click on it and hit "Play game" then save. You'll see a preview image now.

Give us Orange Kerfur++ Omega and my life is yours. It doesn't even need to be better than regular Kerfur Omega, I just need this silly goober to be able to be Omega.

Make the portable metal detector part of the HUD. It's incredibly janky looking to have a dot follow your cursor all the time. I'd also like to see the EMF equipment get a HUD element if it doesn't cause too much clutter.

Np! I'm personally thinking about making youtube videos on this kinds of stuff, because I feel a lot of mechanics and secrets in this game need a full in-depth guide.

Make sure the files are in a folder you make inside the printer folder. Example: You make a folder inside the printer folder and name the folder "ball," you would then but the ball object files in the new folder you just made. Also make sure the folder and the obj have the exact same names.

Wdym the TV doesn't work anymore? You need to plug it in. Also make sure custom content is enabled.

And also make sure you have custom content enabled.

I think the changes made to the Crank Flashlight in the recent test build is great, but I still think there should be an accessibility setting that lets you hold down either the crank flashlight, or just any item in general that needs to repeatedly be pressed

0.8.2b. After killing the Abandoned Kerfur, I'd get an error message saying the following:

Warning: the object murderKerfur_c_2147294423 has detected a negative event! Report to the bug forums the sequence of your actions! Event variable has been set to 0.
I'm not sure exactly what steps I'd talk about here. I spawned in Abandoned Kerfur using the 6 meat piles and attacking my Kerfur Omega, then I fought the Abandoned Kerfur without taking any damage.

Add a tuxedo outfit for Kerfur Omega. We need that kind of fashion for our silly robots.

0.8.2b, The game will just sometimes freeze for about 15-20 seconds, I've only noticed it while at/approaching the base though.

0.8.2b Unsure if this is intentional or not, but the crank flashlight's battery will go down when trying to charge the flashlight after the first alt + right click while holding the flashlight.

[pa0082b_0006] The framerate still steadily decreases as time goes on throughout the day.

By the way, did you make sure your resolution was set to your monitor/steam deck screen's resolution? That tanks performance in my experience.

(0.8.2B) The performance of the game will slowly but steadily get worse as time goes on, and within about a day your framerate will have cut in half by now.

To the people who downvoted this suggestion: I hope you microwave an Argemia

Holy shit I'm not the only person in the game to use the radial action menu?!

Don't use the app. This game is not intended to be used with the app.

Giving this my 2 cents. I personally believe the hotbar is a hot mess right now, and I have 2 ideas to fix it.
1. You can "favorite" items where you can assign an item to have priority on a hotbar slot.
2. The hotbar no longer automatically gets filled by items in your inventory. You have to manually set what items go into your hotbar and which slot.

(1 edit)

You cannot adjust polarity or frequency if you have the radial action menu equipped. It also treats various computer related functions as if they're objects. Some examples are changing the polarity direction, importing/exporting a signal from a drive, using the astro-processing-unit, changing max computing level, and deleting/upgrading signals.

Buff the crank flashlight.

The main complaint I have is how awful it is to try and charge the thing.
I suggest making it possible to charge while having the flashlight equipped instead of unequipping it and having to hold it, risking accidentally throwing it away. Also buff the amount that it charges from 0.3 percent battery per click to 0.6 percent per click. I genuinely don't mind the lower battery life if charging the flashlight itself is made easier.

Also, I think making it possible to hold down right click to charge the flashlight would be very good for accessibility purposes.

I understand that multiplayer has almost no chance of happening. But if it WERE to happen, I think a way more players could be handled like this:

Player 1 would be Kel obviously, Player 2 would be Ena due to the I don't feel well video. Someone would have to replace Ena in the emails during multiplayer, maybe Ken or Max would be the main person doing emails?
If this game were to be 3 or 4 player however, player 3 and 4 could be Kerfur-o's that you have to build for a player to possess so they can join your game. This would be to prevent the game from being too easy at the beginning.

0.8.2 Maybe earlier bug, scrolling in the console no longer works, as in I try to scroll up and down when scr is enabled with J and K but it doesn't do anything. It will disable J and K as something I can press though.

Something that could potentially be added is a camcorder to have an in-game way to record your footage. There probably wouldn't be a viewfinder to make sure the game doesn't drop 20 fps every time you pull it out though. Similar to photos you'd be able to upload it to a videos folder, but also a way I'd suggest being able to watch the footage in-game is through a VHS player. I think it'd be really cool to look back at footage you recorded while inside of the game itself. Maybe when you pause the game and then unpause while recording, the footage will have a static effect play for a moment to make it seem less like the footage was spliced or something.

There's this idea I've had in the back of my head since 0.7. What if at night time there would rarely be a creature that mimics the red light of a sattelite, and if you get too close it eats you or something? There would have to be some slight differences with the red light so you aren't just playing a guessing game if you don't have the digital map or don't perfectly remember the layout of the world. Maybe for example it could flicker ever so often or the tone of red is slightly different?

I understand where you were coming from with the kerfur omega crafting recipe being significantly harder, but I think the recipe needs to be not as easy as before, but DEFINITELY not as hard and insane as it is rn there's gotta be some middle ground here.

My question is, what settings are you using?

I plan on using the Steam Deck as my main and only computer in the relative future and so I was wondering if for people like me or people on Linux, we could get support for this type of OS? While technically they can run, I've noticed that at least with the Steam Deck, VotV doesn't run particularly well. I find this strange considering my garbage pc which can't run games like Elden Ring (While the Steam Deck can,) doesn't struggle as much to run the game with the same settings.
