VotV Archive Index bottom one is current stable release.

There is a fix terrain button in the settings, maybe that will fix the water.

check basement, it may be flooded. and there is an eye in the top right corner of the pause menu that makes it disappear but keeps the game "paused" and if your character is experiencing meta paranoia when you pause the game won't actually pause.

if you want to play MP4s on the TV, go to the launch options for the game and put WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command

i found this posted in a reddit a while ago.

Apparently it's bugged on this version, Download the old version, i was able to grab the keycard fine in 0.9i, but don't overwrite the current just have 2 votv installed then start a new save on the old version, run and grab some m.r.e inside the log next to the river and sell them then buy the hook and grab the keycard then put it in mailbox. quit old version, start new version and grab keycard from mailbox in your current save. you can download old version from the votv archive.

Honestly i have no idea at this point. If the game was working before it should still work, i've never had the game freeze on start up before, are you sure it's not just taking a little while to load? lol

Yeah, you need to have some amount of points to be able to edit them.

Make sure you drag it to a folder or something. Not your downloads directory or program files folder. if that still doesn't work then maybe try deleting the "data.sav" file in your "Yourname/AppData/Local/VotV/Saved/SaveGames" directory.

Save editor worked on previous version, you can download it from the archive and start your save on the previous version. i think it was 0.9i.

As someone else said, there is a switch that allows you to change polarity, I believe there is 3 different polarity settings. So assuming you have a signal then set polarity to like +75 if you don't see it after a full spin of the circle then swap the polarity.

You are unpacking the zip right? When you download the game it gives you a zip, which you must unpack using 7zip or winrar. So just open the zip then drag the file containing everything tto the location you want the game to be.

Thank god you let them know, half a year later.

I assume you're using the yeetpatcher thing. I might get shit for this but i would recommend deleting it and then redownloading the game from the itch.io homepage using the download button. It will give you the most recent version then just unzip it using 7zip and then send the votv.exe to desktop. If you REALLY want to still use yeetpatch it should be included in the download as well. But i genuinely don't understand why people use it, it's slower than downloading it regularly but to each their own.

Yeah, a lot of people didn't like the controls, but a lot of others did. I think there should be an option for both new and old controls but oh well.  Just one of a few flaws of an otherwise great game.

The river has become nearly impossible to get out of in a lot of areas, unless you crouch climb up. Not sure if this is due to using the Vulkan renderer or something but swimming in general feels terrible in newest shadow test although i have not played the past few.

I believe you can play the game with Linux, i saw some people talking about adding the game to steam as a non-steam game for Linux a while back.

It's the third sticky post under community.

Try setting the resolution in the gameusersettings.ini which should be in the VotV folder in your user/"your profile name"/appdata/local directory. Or maybe inside of the same VotV folder go into "assets" then add your resolution to the Res.txt file, doing that should make the resolution selectable in the settings.

It's been a while since I had it installed but it used to work a few months ago.

I'm pretty sure this is caused by having one of the button toggled on the signal downloader. Try making sure the lights are red after you have aligned the polarity and stuff.

Make sure no mods installed though launchers and stuff, that is the only time the game ctd at launch for me.

I don't think you can, you used to be able to knock the nails out with a hammer i thought but i sat there for like 10 mins trying to knock out the nails but they wouldn't budge. I ended up putting like 3 gas tanks next to the bed and blew them up and that didn't do anything either. lol

Bro, just stfu already. You're the most toxic and annoying dude in these threads. And i know reading is hard but the test builds are still on Itch.io, the link to them is right on the homepage of the game.

Nope, still the same controls, there is a new setting or two but not the original controls.

Or just click the "Shadow Test Access" sticky link in the community section on the games homepage. You should go to another VoTV homepage for the shadow test version you can then download it from there. It might need a password which is in the "Shadow Test Access" sticky post.

Well mine is still in the ice at the bottom of the lake. Lol

People can spend their money how they please. The game is free to play atm, and is updated pretty regularly. And i'm pretty sure patreon subscribers DO get special things for paying.

I think that is only if the permanent season option is active.

The AI module is in the safe at the bottom of the lake unless you have gotten it previously then you can buy it in the shop.

I think it is the ball lighting orb thing. Some events happen even in ambience mode, and it's been this way since the beginning so either it is meant to be that way or more likely the dev has not prioritized ambience mode much yet.

They do be watching you, but the mic is for the video camera item i think. Apparently it can record you voice for in game videos.

Are you playing on Linux? I don't think the tv works the same as on windows and there is some extra steps to get it working i think. I did a quick google and try putting this in the launch options if you are:

WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%

You're probably hungry or maybe accidently pushing the ragdoll button, haha

This sounds similar to the old basement from like pre 7.0 (an older version of the game) where it was a never ending(?) tunnel under the base that had creepy sounds that played and could only be accessed at 12:00 or 3:33 or something. It might have some cool stuff but could also still be a work in progress. I think in the old tunnel anything that was left inside of it would be broken or despawn.

I just did some googling and i was combining the nuclear orange and the yellow argemia. Lol but one of the shrimps is placed in the RESTRICTED area but it is still up against the corner of the fence. But i googled the yellow and the votv wiki is the most up to date and says:

"Spawn Condition(s):

- Place shrimps packs at all four corners of the perimeter fence, then place one on the drain in the basement of Alpha Root Base. Finally, be present in the basement between 00:00 and 01:00, stand a small distance away, and look away and up.

Location(s):

- All four corners of the perimeter fence enclosing the map (the fence extends into the restricted area)

- The basement of Alpha Root Base

Requirement(s):

- Playing on Story or Infinite mode

- Five Shrimps Packs

- Be present in the basement of the base between 00:00 and 01:00"

apparently how you drop them matters too as you must drop them from the inventory and then drag them to the drop spots so you can't drop them from your hand. Also the wiki says to place the 4 at the fences and then place the last one on the basement drain between 0:00 and 1:00 then step back, turn around and look up so the drain is opposite from where the player is looking. If all is done correctly that SHOULD spawn it but apparently a lot of people have problems with this one. Also the Arirals will eat shrimp packs that are left out after Day 12 (not sure if this date is still accurate) if players don't already have loyal reputation so it's possible the shrimp packs you leave in the corners are being eaten before you can finish the ritual. You could turn on rep debug and watch for the rep increase pop up while doing the steps to make sure that isn't happening.

AI module is only available after you have gotten it in game from the safe in the lake. And i think the hacksaw is in tools, you could also use the search bar to find it.

I'm pretty sure the shrimps are supposed to be at the edge of the map, not the edge of the fence. You should be able to hop the fence and then you place the shrimps against the red flashing barrier, not the fence. At least i think that's how i remember it is done.

VotV reddit answer

I believe that is the nvidia overlay, you can get rid of it by pressing alt+r also try pressing alt+z and messing with settings. you can change the hotkeys so that way you don't accidently push it again.
