Not sure why you assume i love every version of the game. I only just got over my hatred of the new controls, i wish they would bring back the old controls but i can deal. I also preferred the original base to the current, more modern one but i get that it was a design choice. Its one thing to provide some constructive critisicism but saying that the mechanics are "made through ass", whatever that means, and that his game mechanics are shit is just dumb, especially when the fix is in the settings for you, maybe they'll add a config for bleeding or something down the line but for now you can turn it off if it's too bothersome.

There are some spoiler free guides on youtube, they allude to some secrets without spoiling the game. I watched one a long time ago and it made the game open up alot more. There is so much in the game i doubt we will ever get any more hints or anything like that in the game until 1.0 and even then i wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't. It feels like the game enourages the old internet days of forums and stuff of people trying to figure out secrets in games together before everything was uploaded to youtube. Lol

If you don't want to turn off the setting then don't. Bleeding is not a problem in my opinion and there are multiple bandages around the base to stop bleeding not to mention you can buy more. And if you think it is a problem, the dev was kind enough to give you setting to turn it off.

Pretty sure this is related to your screen resolution not matching the in game resolution.

Power outages only happen from events, not maintaining transformers or not restocking the fuses in the cr towers if i'm not mistaken. Cr towers can be a pain to maintain but there is a setting for them i think.

Auto screen res was removed in one of the recent updates. The only way i know of sort of enabling borderless fullscreen is to start the game then press f11 twice, this will put the game into a pseudo-borderless mode but it will revert after changing settings or restarting the game.

Why doesn't it work? Is it giving an error? I've never had to turn off any settings to download the game.

I did READ it. I don't see how you have trouble getting the signal centered. You just put it between the three points. And if you're too slow then upgrading the cooldown will help, and i think you can update the speed of the cursor as well. Sorry you can't get point centered between three others. LOL

I really like the new triangulation method. It can take some getting used to but you can scan for signal, then take one of the 3 points towards the signal, when you get there if your scan cooldown has reset you can actually call the other points to the signal by pushing 1,2 or 3 depending on which point you want to call. I usually try to upgrade the cooldown a bit so it helps with this.

I think they got rid of using sleeping bag on the tower because it allowed you to very easily sleep through events that are meant to be "hard".

I think turning off the adjustment knobs, so the lights are red again. Gets rid of the noise if that's what you're talking about.

Q: All my settings are at 0; Quality is super pixelated; Completely black\gray screen

A: Go to Settings>Game and click "Regenerate data.sav" button

I just clean over the course of my game whenever signals are downloading. I honestly think the amount of trash is fine, and it's meant to be used for crafting also it is not meant to be from one person. The base clearly used to be ran by multiple people until Kel took over.

Nice concept, is the "DROWNED" steam page relating to this? I saw the "poster" on one of the clipboard buttons and looked it up.

The fog eyes creature is radioactive as well now. It wouldn't surprise me if there is a lot more radiation around.

You could try lossless scaling on steam. I've never personally used it on the game though.

VotV Archive Index bottom one is current stable release.

There is a fix terrain button in the settings, maybe that will fix the water.

check basement, it may be flooded. and there is an eye in the top right corner of the pause menu that makes it disappear but keeps the game "paused" and if your character is experiencing meta paranoia when you pause the game won't actually pause.

if you want to play MP4s on the TV, go to the launch options for the game and put WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command

i found this posted in a reddit a while ago.

Apparently it's bugged on this version, Download the old version, i was able to grab the keycard fine in 0.9i, but don't overwrite the current just have 2 votv installed then start a new save on the old version, run and grab some m.r.e inside the log next to the river and sell them then buy the hook and grab the keycard then put it in mailbox. quit old version, start new version and grab keycard from mailbox in your current save. you can download old version from the votv archive.

Honestly i have no idea at this point. If the game was working before it should still work, i've never had the game freeze on start up before, are you sure it's not just taking a little while to load? lol

Yeah, you need to have some amount of points to be able to edit them.

Make sure you drag it to a folder or something. Not your downloads directory or program files folder. if that still doesn't work then maybe try deleting the "data.sav" file in your "Yourname/AppData/Local/VotV/Saved/SaveGames" directory.

Save editor worked on previous version, you can download it from the archive and start your save on the previous version. i think it was 0.9i.

As someone else said, there is a switch that allows you to change polarity, I believe there is 3 different polarity settings. So assuming you have a signal then set polarity to like +75 if you don't see it after a full spin of the circle then swap the polarity.

You are unpacking the zip right? When you download the game it gives you a zip, which you must unpack using 7zip or winrar. So just open the zip then drag the file containing everything tto the location you want the game to be.

Thank god you let them know, half a year later.

I assume you're using the yeetpatcher thing. I might get shit for this but i would recommend deleting it and then redownloading the game from the itch.io homepage using the download button. It will give you the most recent version then just unzip it using 7zip and then send the votv.exe to desktop. If you REALLY want to still use yeetpatch it should be included in the download as well. But i genuinely don't understand why people use it, it's slower than downloading it regularly but to each their own.

Yeah, a lot of people didn't like the controls, but a lot of others did. I think there should be an option for both new and old controls but oh well.  Just one of a few flaws of an otherwise great game.

The river has become nearly impossible to get out of in a lot of areas, unless you crouch climb up. Not sure if this is due to using the Vulkan renderer or something but swimming in general feels terrible in newest shadow test although i have not played the past few.

I believe you can play the game with Linux, i saw some people talking about adding the game to steam as a non-steam game for Linux a while back.

It's the third sticky post under community.

Try setting the resolution in the gameusersettings.ini which should be in the VotV folder in your user/"your profile name"/appdata/local directory. Or maybe inside of the same VotV folder go into "assets" then add your resolution to the Res.txt file, doing that should make the resolution selectable in the settings.

It's been a while since I had it installed but it used to work a few months ago.

I'm pretty sure this is caused by having one of the button toggled on the signal downloader. Try making sure the lights are red after you have aligned the polarity and stuff.

Make sure no mods installed though launchers and stuff, that is the only time the game ctd at launch for me.

I don't think you can, you used to be able to knock the nails out with a hammer i thought but i sat there for like 10 mins trying to knock out the nails but they wouldn't budge. I ended up putting like 3 gas tanks next to the bed and blew them up and that didn't do anything either. lol
