In my opinion a totally underrated game!
This basic idea is so clever to cross chess with a dungeon crawler.

The game is from the first second self explaining. I love the clean and simple graphics.

Also the game mechanics are outstanding: the figures may only move according to chess rules - but you inherit the movement of the figure you just attacked, which opens much possibilities for creative level design.

A bit of critique: the music gets a bit annoying after hearing it for 10 minutes, but actually it's also well done and fits the game.

I'm hoping this game will land in the top 10 - it deserves it!

Thank you very much for your kind words!

We already had a lot of different ideas for level design but had to cut the amount of levels and features down to fit the time schedule. In the future updates we'll add way more levels and features.

Haha, good catch!

Fun fact: in an early version it was possible to pick up the ball from a way greater distance and we realized that with this behaviour the strength bar could be totally circumvented, so we had to reduce the distance.

Thank you for playing and your kind review!

Thank you for your review. Since we are having a vague vision where we want to go, we also are open for creative suggestions.

Do you have any concrete propositions for a setting? If it fits to our vision, there's a chance finding a way to incorporate your idea ;)

Saw this concept a few times now in this game jam but your game has the most challenging puzzles!

The controls feel smooth and are selfexplaining. I know how hard it is to create clever levels, but in my opinion they are well balanced (nevertheless hard to solve from the beginning).

Well done,

Very interesting concept and game mechanics, It feels very smooth and responsive, just had a few issues to use the grappling hook.

I'm totally fascinated by the "jelly"-like movement and the overall visual presentation. Great work!

Cool game idea! So simple, yet challenging - really like it.

Also I think it's impressive that you've created that in 24h. Clever level design is really hard and at least the levels I've seen had smart puzzles.

Good job!

Watching the screenshots I expected something like a novel - great art by the way - but then realized, that's just the intro.

I think you could have continued this style and used this kind of graphic ingame, too.

Nice idea and well arranged puzzles. Haven't finished the game yet but will definetly play again. Well done.

Cool concept, I like it.

Everything fits well together, music, smooth controls, visual style.

But the grapple key E drives me crazy; in my opinion it's a bit too close to WSD and R.. but overall it's a minor issue.. very well done game, was fun to play it!

Yes, the whole folder that is created by the "build" is necessary to run the game. Just make a ZIP file out of the folder and upload it.

Someone else here had the same problem and reuploaded his game (which was then linked as "late submission"), but I see a chance for you to fix this.

Haha, I'm lovin' it how you had the same idea about the base mechanics. We had a similar approach, yet another genre. Funny enough ;)

I like the controls, the movement is very smooth.. but the throwing mechanincs were a bit confusing for me - I think I maybe didn't get it right.

But I think this game has very good potential with a bit of tweaking here and there. Well done!

In the first moment I didnt understood what to do until I read the instructions on your game page - my suggestion is to put some hints how to play somewhere in the game because the mechanics are not selfexplaining (at least for me).

Not sure what to think about the mechanics, but it felt very unintuitive and annoying to me to point and click on an object with the mouse, to which i just moved the player via keyboard. I think a key for pickup/drop would suffice.

The idea with the time machine is great and has potential for fancys puzzles in my eyes!
Maybe a little suggestion here: when using the time machine maybe give the player a clue that this is time travelling (some kind of flying particles, color change or sth. else). On my first play i thought its a kind of sink.

Last but not least I absolutely love the visual presentation. This is the outstanding part of the game.

I think if you keep tweaking the player controls a bit this would be a very nice and interesting game!

Very interesting concept and i like the clean art.

But the fast spinning of the wheel made me really dizzy,

If I could make a suggestion: maybe start with a slower spinning speed. That allows the player to learn the mechanics and the speed could increase slowly with every successful hit.

Last but not least: I agree to the other commenter, that would be a nice mobile game.

I agree with the other commenters that a tutorial (or at least a rough explaination) would be helpful for beginners.
But after exploring the game a few minutes, I think I figured out the mechanics..

The visual and auditory presentation is adorable, I'm lovin it!

Okay, now the game started without problems. Thanks for fixing!

It took me a bit to find out how to shoot (the tutorial does not mention that) but then I accidently found out.

I like the idea of collecting gears and adding them up to a bunch of different cannons. Nevertheless the enemies always won quickly against me, I've never been good at scrolling shoot'em ups ;)

Thank you for your review!

Yeah, we noticed some issues occuring here and there, especially regarding the throwing mechanics - therefor we decided to categorize it as "Prototype".  But we are looking forward to improve and extend the game in the future.  We hope you had anyway fun playing our game.

Thank you very much for playing the game and your comprehensive review, I really appreciate that.

We unfortunately ran a bit out of time to add some more puzzle elements, levels and polishing. But we plan to  extend and finisht it in the future.

Okay, so actually I didnt really understood the different items and their meaning. I think a short tutorial mode to learn the different types of blocks and how your "player" reacts on them would be helpful.

But what really stands out is the main menu. I love the crisp graphics and the screen transitions. Although there is no "exit" button ;)

(1 edit)

Unfortunately I can't start the game. The following error occurs:

Error: Couldn't load project data at path ".". Is the .pck file missing?
If you've renamed the executable, the associated .pck file should also be renamed to match the executable's name (without the extension).

Do you have any hints for launching the game?

Very interesting idea, I like the concept.
Would love to see it as a mobile game.

Well chosen sfx by the way!

Somehow i got stuck in the level where you have to combine red and blue, the button didnt trigger and I could not switch back to red again.

But anyway I like the aesthetics. Combined with the smoothness of the controls it kinda feels relaxing to play.
