Hey! Glad you liked it!

Hey glad you liked it! Thnx for the feedback! Sadly some of the bugs had to stay in due to time limitations. I didn’t think of ESC closing the game honestly as I rarely build for WebGL. Good point!

Hey! This is definitely one of the best games i played in this jam!

i was amazed that you went for procedural generation in such a short amount of time. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out the controls but after that everything clicked. The controls were just fine. The jump initially felt long but i realized after playing that is useful to be that way for climbing purposes. Actually placing stuff down to climb up was a bit hard so i mostly used the miner to break the ground and make steps for me to go up.

I managed to finish the game .. almost :P I managed to craft the parts i needed but the game crashed on me while i was trying to build my escape pod. It was not really clear what i had to do there as my first thought was i need to install those parts in the broken spaceship but this didnt work, so i thought maybe i need to build a new one.

I got the Boss, i crafted the MK2 miner which was very useful, the ultimate weapon and armor only the scientists have haha. From a design perceptive my advice would be to limit the how deep the player can fall down so it is easier to climb up, or even try to make the placing stuff a bit better so that you can jump and place things below you like you would do in Minecraft. i also noticed that crafting an item gave me x2 or x3 the item i clicked on so there could be an improvement too.

Honestly, one of the best games games i played so far that kept me enganged till the end! More people need to play this for sure!

Good job and keep it up! You got a nice base for a game here!

Hey! Glad you liked and that you put the effort to beat it!

Hey! Thank you for the extensive review and feedback!

The camera is orthographic indeed. Truth is that we didn’t optimize for GPU since this would need some time from our part that could be used in adding more stuff to the game. A lot of the things you mentioned are like that due to the game’s scope being for a game jam. We will definitely think on those and improve upon them if we continue working on the game after the jam.

Hey there!

I ve got to say that the game is very clever and the concept could turn out to be something really solid. It was one of the games that while difficult kept me replaying it. It is unique to say the least. The minimalistic art style is fitting the game and the chill music too. It helps you focus on things that matter. I will disagree with some of the comments that the game needed more indicators as for me it was pretty clear to understand what was going on.

I found it a bit hard to understand how things worked in the beginning but after replaying it a couple of times i understood everything. As people have mentioned already it is kinda hard to pass the tutorial and it spikes even more after that :) :) Getting into the next level i was surprised by the size and its complexity in a good way. I was expecting the levels to go as the tutorial one was. I didnt manage to pass the second level but i tried a lot of times. I think i got the strategy behind it but i couldnt balance the strength of the wind pretty well so i either kept running out energy or the fires went off.

I will probably play that again after i have checked some more games. The gameplay is very good on that i was impressed. Just fixing a couple of things about the difficulty curve and you have a solid base here is my honest opinion.

Hey there!

I can say the game was fun! It kept me replaying it a couple of times. It is on point with the theme and I really appreciated the humor in the story. Also good job on the cutscenes!

The graphics were nice overall and I liked the fact that you actually made the items breakable instead of them just disappearing.

There were a few bugs I encountered but you probably know that already, like getting stuck in a cabinet and once the bull threw me off the room with me being unable to re enter. One thing i want to say about the gameplay is that the NPCs repairing the stuff made it a bit hard to clear the levels sometimes. This could just be me, but making them a bit slower might work so think about it.

It was a fun game overall and a good base to build upon! Keep it up!

Hey! Nice game overall!

I like how you implemented platforming in the game. The game looks clean and well polished. One thing i will note is that when using premade assets in a game jam at least credit the guys who made them. It is kind of obvious which exact asset this is so it feels bad not to mention that :)

All in all a solid entry that more people need to play! Good job!

Hey! Nice effort here! I see the inspiration from Binding of Isaac a game i really love!

I ll start with the music which was really nice and while the track is short it never felt repetitive. Awesome job on that! The graphics are solid for a game like that. You have a good base on those two. What felt a bit off is not having 8-directional movement and i also feel that the character should rotate to where the mouse is pointing at. Those games are designed with fast movement / shooting in mind so i feel these two will be nice improvements.

Solid effort! Keep it up!

Hey! Really nice game! I love strategy games in general and i like to see a submission like that. I really like the over the board view you chose. It really adds to the experience and feels like playing a board game. I ended up spending a lot of time on that. A couple of things that i feel could improve the experience would be a fast forward button and some descriptions on what each building does cause that was a bit hard to understand initially!

Overall a really nice entry!

Hey nice game!

There are a few things that could be improved as others mentioned already but i wont stick there. It was a game that had me playing it for much longer than others. I like how you ve implemented a story in a setting we all know and love. There are some funny moments with the characters introduced and i really liked the art of all the characters.

Good job! Keep it up!

Hey! Pretty solid entry! Gameplay is straightforward. I like the amount of different cards designed and i always love the roguelite style of gameplay. Card games are one of my favs. There were times in early levels where i passed some turns having nothing to do, but this went away in later bigger stages.

Good job!

Hey thanks for the kind words! You can move the camera using WASD and rotate it to get a better view of the battle by holding down the right mouse button and dragging!

Thank you very much!

(1 edit)

Thanks! We r glad you liked it! Your words are inspiring!

Hey! You got a really nice concept here!

It is definitely a unique game that blends together two things i love that being RPGs and music! The art is very good on that and i like the fact that you present all of this with a storyline behind it!

Good job overall!

Hey thnx!

We really appreciate the fact that you liked our game! I am not sure what the future of this game will be yet, but i ll keep your suggestion in mind! It would definitely be a cool feature to have!

Hey there!

The fact that you put in the effort to finish it makes me really happy! I know it can be hard at times, but we wanted it to be a challenge for the players. I am glad you liked it!

I am aware of the two bugs you mention and i have already fixed them locally. They were very quick fixes. I didn’t want to update the project till the voting ends to fix those, as this would be cheating. They both come from the fact that i was on fire the last couple of days to finish the project and i didn’t have the time to actually correct those.

Glad you liked it and once more thank you very much for putting in the time and effort to finish it!

Hey! I am glad you liked it!

There is a difficulty spike both in level 3 and then level 5. I have uploaded a walkthrough video in case you want to check out on of the solutions.

Thank you for playing our game!

Hey don’t get discouraged by my comment! Submitting a game as one person is an achievement on it’s own! Practice makes perfect!

Hey nice game overall!

I liked the art style and the puzzle was straightforward for the most part. It was hard for me to find how to unlock the cleaning lady. I dont want to spoil things but i think i found the solution after i quit the game. I might try that again to see if it works!

There were a couple things that could be done better, like transitioning between screens, some collisions like the player slipping down the stairs sometimes but nothing major for me.

Good job on that, and keep it up!

The story driven style in this top down shooter was really nice. The intro was nice and had some funny lines in it.

I liked the overall voxel art style though i have to say that the particular ground texture and some of the explosion effects were a bit hard on the eyes. i feel that something simpler would allow for more contrast with the birds for example making it easier to spot, but that might just be me. Maybe some effects when the birds die would add a lot to the overall feel of the game too.

I really liked how the dodge felt and running around shooting was prety fun! Godd job on that! Keep it up!

Hey there!

This was a really nice game good job on that!

The gameplay was smooth, tutorial made it easy to understand but still hard to master. The graphics were nice, i loved the voiceover and generally running around those round planets was really fun.

A very solid entry overall! Keep it up!

I have to admit this is one of the best games i played so far. The concept is really interesting letting you actually be an investigator and doing that via text commands feels like you are the one driving things like you could do anything you like. It is better done than many games of that genre.

Adding to that the story is nice and humorous making it a very pleasant experience and the graphics/sound design is spot on. I really liked the system you have that gives hints on what to type in.

I havent spent the time i should on it as i want to check out some more games first but i ll definitely get back to it after i do.

Overall a very clever game and pretty well executed! Good job!

The game is pretty so good job on that. It was really easy to understand what i had to do and after finding out where each item is located it was rolling pretty smooth. The gameplay is a bit stale i would like to see something spicing it up a bit as it can get repetitive. My suggestion would be to find a way to add some more goals. Maybe add a point system in the future, count how many items were delivered or something like that.

Good job on finishing this and keep it up!

Very nice art style and the music was amazing! It gives the feeling of being stranded in a strange world trying to explore it. This need more love from more people! Keep it up!

Hey! I am glad you noticed that. It was exactly the purpose of those two levels.

Nice game overall. I liked how i can change the boss abilities and also the system you have to choose an upgrade, all while i actually play the game. Also you did a good job with telegraphing the boss abilities which is important in a game like that.

Keep it up!

A pleasant game. It gave me an old school feel like games i used to play in the arcades. You could add some more effects like points showing on top of the player when a bomb gets diffused to add to that feel. While simple it kept me playing for quite some time. Keep it up!

I feel that the way you set up the main menu already works as a training area and was really clever to do it that way. Forgot to mention that earlier :)

Well I guess we r in the same side in that! Didn’t know I can play it from mobile. I ll try that too and see how it feels!

Once again well done!

Hey!

Really nice game! The puzzles were clever and balanced. I had to replay most of them a few times and figuring out how they work was great! I really enjoyed playing that and the end level sequence were Olaf remembers how he broke everything was hilarious!

A very nice entry! Good job!

Yes i totally understand that. I realized that after beating the game and was impressed by the amount of those! I might get back to it after i check some more games <3

Hey there! I really liked the messages you try to push through the game. I make platformers myself and i am usually a harsh judge on those.

It was hard to control the game mostly due to the camera. Some weird wall movement too while grabbed on the walls. I liked the level design and it seems that with a little more work this could become something really nice.

So keep up the good work, and also have a long and happy marriage!

Hey really nice concept and main mechanic!

The game played fine, was challenging and looked awesome! It took me a while to get the hang of the jump but after that i could maneuver pretty well.

Good job! Keep it up!

Hey there!

Good effort overall! Congratulations on finishing your first game <3

I make platformers myself so i am usually a harsh judge on those. Since this is you first one, i ll note here some things i noticed so that you have them in the back on your mind and try to improve on those. Dont hate me about it! I liked the game, i just noticed a couple of things and i think it will help you get even better.

First of all the buttons chosen for the keyboard controls are really hard to play with. I would recommend using Q,E,Shift,Space for the controls or even keys like Z,X,C,Space. Those two combinations are much easier for people to use.

Another thing is that the game was very unforgiving for example in the first level were you need to fall and collect the two screws that you cant see when falling. If you miss you need to restart. You can implement a system where you Clamp (limit) the maximum fall speed and even make the camera move a bit lower so the player can see where he is falling at, and have the time to collect those. You could also make a couple of platforms so in case he misses them, he could go back and jump up to get those, costing him time instead of a hard reset.

Point three, is that the character sticks at walls and platforms. You can easilly fix that by adding a Physics material on the player’s and wall’s collider that has 0 friction. This will make the player fall instead of sticking.

Last thing you can try to implement a jump buffer and coyote time mechanic to your controller to make the controls feel a lot better. The first allows you to press jump while not grounded but close to the ground and your player will still jump when he gets grounded and the second allows you to jump off a platform for x amount of time, even if you miss the jump slightly, so you can basically jump for a while after leaving the platform even if you are in the air. Those 2 will improve the controls immensely especially for a platformer.

Your game was a bit hard, but really fun to play for me! I hope the advice above helps you! Keep up the good work!

Hey!

I dont know if it is because i am a noob in those type of games but for me this was really hard so i didnt manage to finish it. I see others did so thats something :P

The game was pretty self explanatory which is always nice and it was fun to play. The art was nice and cute. I would like some more sounds and maybe some hit effects to understand what is going on.

It is a good effort overall! Keep it up!

Hey!

You got some nice puzzles there and the mechanic is kinda clever on its own! Good job on that! The mechanics were a bit hard to get and generally the puzzles were on the hard side of things in general. From my experience as we too have made a puzzle type of game, this might throw off a bit people that are not patient enough. Both the art style and the sound were fitting the game.

Keep it up!

Hey!

Nice effort! Iconic characters on one of the most iconic levels in the series! I used to play that in the arcades! Where is Blanka?? :P

The gameplay was lacking a bit. I managed to spam the Hadoken and that was it for poor Ryu! Some sounds would be nice to have too.

It was a pleasant game overall. Keep it up!

Hey nice concept and the games looks really cool!

I think this would play better in mobile. One suggestion. It was hard to keep the frequency in track with the mouse. Maybe adding moving the needle with A/D or arrows would help.

It was a cool game overall. Good job on that!
