Nice game, I couldn’t find the weapon, kind of managed to dodge all the zombies xD. A map would be nice, got a bit lost after a while

Hallo,

Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;

1. verified: GAME due to observed SUBMISSIONS List with keyphrase: METAL; shares: self was verifying GAME OFF 2022 Entry, “Metal Bear Liquid”

2. observed: noticeable background musical tune and sound effects

3. observed: noticeable use of drawing techniques with auto-sorting of objects to be displayed based on which is above which; adds: noticeable font size used for text dialogue to cause ease in reading

4. verified: GAMEPLAY to be of finding the EXIT, where: among others, keycards, monsters, another patient exist, and with whom protagonist can interact

5. reached: the part where protagonist, “Glass”, meets another female patient, “Bean”, and obtains the red keycard; admits: however, self did NOT find correct path “to go outside”, i.e. EXIT; adds: as observation, Bean notified protagonist,  that she was also holding a metal pipe, albeit self had NOT yet found the item;

6. remembers: Resident Evil#1 (PS1) due to Electrocardiogram signal to signify Health; adds: multiple monsters chasing and attacking female protagonist without weapon to defend herself; remembers: reading the book, “The Story Behind Bio Hazard ”, where: learns the objective of GAME is to be put in situation, where: self shall need to choose current ACTION e.g. accept and be eaten by zombies/virus or FIGHT to survive, to cause the intended FUTURE OUTPUT; adds: select people opt NOT to experience such in ACTUAL LIFE; adds: however, select people intentionally cause such situation to target people, e.g. FEMALES, in non-computer game LIFE; keyphrase: excess money from quick money due to tax evasion causes perverted mind with illegal drugs

Thank you. Health!

I made it to the end ! (the escaping end seems there is alternative ending)

The game atmosphere is great: the music is well chosen, the art and animations are not too complexe and still are enjoyable.

The only point that can be improved in my opinion is those never ending hallways. They break a bit the experience. Without that, it will be a much more fun.

Good submission !

Nice game! Played through the entire thing and it was fun exploring around. I do wish the environment had some more details, character art was good though. Nice job overall!

It's a fun game, I love the artwork of the characters! And I love the way backtracking is built into the game... for instance, after I found the green keycard, I knew to go back to the pipe before progressing through, because going forward towards Bean would have been impossible.

Though, after I got the red keycard, I was stuck... I never saw any red doors through the game, and I couldn't find any other areas that I hadn't visited yet. Is there anything past that point?

Developer

I apologize for the lack of hinting. There are actually more.

If you haven't also found a green door, then you haven't break boxes in the big area yet. The area that has a lot of tables, there are stairs on the left.

I definitely did find green doors, I couldn't have gotten to the red keycard otherwise lol.

I had no idea that the player could break boxes after getting the pipe... that's a pretty big backtrack to have to find that out, basically back to the very start of the game. It would have been good if there were boxes in front of Bean that the player had to break to get to her - that way, after you get the red keycard, you know to search for boxes to find where the red doors should be.

I really enjoyed the gameplay and music but one of the zombies got stuck in a door and don't think the red door made it to the build I played

Hey nice game!

There are a few things that could be improved as others mentioned already but i wont stick there. It was a game that had me playing it for much longer than others. I like how you ve implemented a story in a setting we all know and love. There are some funny moments with the characters introduced and i really liked the art of all the characters.

Good job! Keep it up!

I couldn't find the keycard to get the pipe. It was fun juking out these zombies though.

The layout of the level was really hard to navigate in my opinion. An easy fix would be to put a few unique / noticeable objects/props here and there.

A nice action adventure, I would've loved to have a map or written down one as I played, lots of empty space and backtracking, but the whole experience was positive. I made it to the end and still don't get the relation to the theme, but hey, nice game story. Always good to see more games made in Godot. Good job!

I made it to the end! I think the thing I really wanted was some kind of map, I found myself wandering around so many empty hallways. Also, I would force the player to pick up the pipe in some way. You can miss the pipe, which not only makes the game harder but also breaks the continuity, as the dialogue references you holding a pipe that you actually don't have.
Aside from that, I enjoyed the experience! I like the way health is portrayed, I enjoyed the setting and world-building, and the pipe swinging (from both the zombies and yourself) was very crunchy and felt great. Good work on your entry!

Nice game, but long empty hallways with no mini-map or hint-guide.. I didn't have the persistence to stick it out past the red keycard. (I only got that far because someone else mentioned the pipe in the comments here. I never would have noticed that on my own.)

Nice, the exploration is interesting, the story is super silly but is a good motivation to keep playing until the end.

Good job!

A nice experience for sure! I got up to the red keycard and after a bit of a wander couldn’t seem to find where to go, but I feel I played enough to get a fairly representitive experience of the game.

Music is nice, reminds me a bit of Metroid Prime!

Gameplay is fairly simple, the zombies(?) felt more like an annoyance than a threat, especially seeing as their audio seemed to constantly cut itself off and play the start of a sound effect.

Dialogue felt pretty silly, not sure if that’s the vibe you were aiming for - but even if not I still enjoyed it! :D

Definitely the bones of something cool here and there’s some nice systems like the inventory, destructable environment etc.

Great job!

It's a really great start of a game. I like that the first part involves just running and evading the enemy without any engaging at all. I was pretty sure I got the green key card, but couldn't get through the green doors. I was able to bash the zombies on the other side of the green doors anyway. It looked like there would be more game to play from there though.

I also really like the music. And even though the running is only two sprites, it works really well.

This was an overall good game! Liked the SFX and music!

I'd make things that are interactable more obvious because I had no idea the pipe was there and was confused when the first npc said I had a pipe on me lmao.

I liked the additional dialogue between npcs and the silly names haha. Great job with this!
