Cool game! The art is seriously incredible, both the pixel art and the character art. I do think there could have been more gameplay wise though. It was pretty basic, I think for turn based games you need to present the player with some more interesting choices. The way it currently is, it's pretty obvious you have to move and attack when you are in the center and not getting attacked. I was ably to easily beat the boss without prep on my first try. Though, spoilers, she did end up getting me anyway :D

Congrats on the game!

Really funny game idea and execution. Works well with the theme as well. I do think it would benefit greatly from an Only Up style ledge grab mechanic, it's very annoying to slip just off the edge of a platform. Congrats on the submission!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed! The economy wasn't tweaked at all, so I understand the complaint. And the sword definitely needs some work as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Great game! I really like the core mechanic, I think it's interesting. And while I like the animations, I think some could use a bit more polish. For example I think the sword should have a more visible damage arc, like the bull does. Sometimes it's hard to tell which direction I'm attacking in. The character only facing right or left and never up or down adds to this I think. Other than that, love the bosses and the attacks. Great job!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed

Thanks for playing and finishing! Balancing is a common complaint, and it makes sense since I just made some numbers up and ran out of time to test and tweak them.

Thanks for playing and finishing the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it and your comments are duly noted!

I managed to finish it! I really like the light mechanic, in fact I think you should lean into it more. I think you could either make it so I can't see much of anything outside of it, or if you think that's a bit much maybe some other mechanics with enemies or puzzles or something. It's unique!

Wow I'm so glad you played till the end!
I did initially imagine the game as fully procedurally generated with preset rooms, but decided that wouldn't fit inside the jam. I do want to work on that feature afterwards though, I think there is a lot to learn there. As for the UI, I completely agree, its current version was never meant to see the light of day :D
Thanks so much for playing till the end!

Very cute game! I thought upgrades stacked on top of each other, so I was a bit surprised when I couldn't use my decoy. Other than that, no complaints. Really cool!

I'd love to play again and give more feedback once the update is live! Great to hear you are working on it

Very cool! I like the sound effects a lot. The gameplay is interesting as well! Everything works so well together. It feels incredibly polished and super close to an actual retail game! I think you could totally make this a fully fledged game with just more content!

Pretty cool! I like it quite a bit, and it's very impressive for a game jam. If you are looking for opinions here are my 2 cents:
I think the gravity for the player should be a tad bit stronger, it feels a bit floaty at the moment.
I don't love that I can only attack once midair before landing. Paired with the floatiness can make it feel a bit unresponsive at times.
I don't know if there are i-frames when the player gets hit, I didn't notice any. If they are there, I think it should be a bit more clear. If not, they really should be there :D

Keep in mind I've been playing silksong nonstop for the past week, so some of these might have been influenced by that. If you are going for that kind of feel, I think you should take these into consideration.

These are just nitpicks though, great game for a jam. Congrats!!

Woah! Really cool to see another gungeon inspired game! Though this obviously has much better polish then mine :P The heat mechanic is awesome and fits the theme really well! I generally love everything about this game lol. I will say though at some point the roll started to cover an insane amount of distance which felt a bit hard to control :D

Very cute little platformer! Movement feels crisp and responsive, and the level design is pretty good as well. I do wish for some more movement mechanics with games like this, but I understand that can be hard for a jam. I love the art as well, especially the spider. Congrats on the game!

There is a dash you can use with space! Might not have made that clear, sorry. Thanks for playing!

Wow this is really amazing! Very cool and unique take on the theme, I love it. Wrestling the car against the tornado felt great as well. I know it's basically impossible for a jam game, but I'd love a version of this that actually had houses and stuff getting sucked up, where we really have to chase the tornado and such. For a jam, this is incredible stuff!

Thanks so much for playing!

Really cool! I think the atmosphere adds a lot. I also really like the green die I got, I think it fits the theme especially well. I do wish I could sell items though. You could really lean into build stuff like balatro with a game like this. Love what is already here and love the potential as well. Congrats!

Very good suggestions! I didn't have any time left for balancing, and I definitely feel your complaints as well. Thank you so much for playing!

Really good! I love the dancing animation, and the core gameplay is fun as well. I do think it would be a bit better if taking steps in beat was incentivized, or even forced. That way you could more easily link the blue squares landing on the beat imo. That would also allow for different time signatures in songs leading to more interesting gameplay! You could have levels that force you to move in different subdivisions, like eighths or in threes or something, and paired with time signatures, you can have really interesting levels! You could even do more interesting patterns where you have to take steps only on certain beats, so for example if you are doing eighths (in 4/4 time) you could do a walk sequence like:
step x step x step x x
(x's are pauses)

I rambled on a bit but that's only because the base is so cool, it got my mind racing :D Congrats on the entry!

This is a fun (and really frustrating) game! The art and music are nice, and I like the unique gameplay, but I think the level design could be a bit better. I also think having a couple of easier levels to start with could be a bit better so that the player could get that initial dose of satisfaction and keep playing. Other than that, great game! Congrats on the entry!

Cool game, a bit on the short side, but it was fun! Using your own engine for a jam game is a crazy feat, so congrats!

Looks and sounds really cool! I do think it is a bit hard though, it's over within 10 seconds most of the time. I love the idea, really unique! Also I should mention, lives didn't reset on replays, so I just refreshed the page each time.

Really unique take on the theme, I love it! How the hell did you make this in a week?! I guess there is 7 of you, but still! The little things that break in the car feel great to fix, the sound effects are awesome. The game looks great, sounds great, plays great... Just great all around. Congratulations!

Fun game! I managed to get to level 9. I do think there needs to be a way to mitigate corruption, because as it is it kind of feels impossible to not eventually lose, but I guess that's the idea. The art and the music are great as well! Overall, really good!

Great game! Love the visuals and the music. I understand it might have been hard to do in a week, but I'd love to see more of a deck builder aspect to this, kind of like balatro. The upgrades as they are are kind of basic. Also, upgrades persist through runs, which was probably unintended, thought I should let you know. Anyway, congrats on the great submission!

Great game! It's been a while since I've played a point and click, and I gotta say this is a great one. Especially for one made in a week!  The art is great, the music is awesome, the dialogue is fun... My only complaint, which might just be me being stupid, I think it's a bit too hard to figure out who it is. Again, might just be me missing something obvius. Anyway, great submission, congrats!

Kind of bare bones as it is, but I can see the vision! I think there is a really fun game here, you just need to dig a bit deeper. The art is quite cool as well!

Hey, FWIW, the UI in your game looks great!

Really cool puzzle game! Very well polished for something made in a week. The level design is great as well. Great job!

Thanks for playing! Your UI complaint is absolutely valid, the current UI was only meant to be a placeholder, but I never got around to making a better one :D
Also not sure if you noticed since you mention only using the sword, you also had a shotgun! You can switch using Q.

Thanks for playing!

ahh, that sucks! glad you are fine now

Please do!

Yeah me too! I'm still curious.

Great game! I bought every single thing and took over Europe as a biscuit tycoon. I especially love the news feature, great thinking. It does get a little hard to micromanage everything as you progress, but at that point micromanaging doesn't matter much anyway so that wasn't much of a problem. I'd maybe say make it a bit harder? But that might just be preference thing. Congrats on the entry!

Thanks for playing!

I honestly think the difficulty is right on! At least for my taste. I just felt like I didn't really have an option at times against the boss is all, that's why I mentioned the dash. Congrats again!

I got really close 3 times but couldn't beat the boss. Very fun game overall! I think it could really use a dash though. Some of the bosses attacks felt really hard to dodge. I did really like the bullet hell section. I also like the variation of the enemy AI, they all have their unique style.  Great job!
