This is such a professional vertical slice for a 10 day jam!

I'm so impressed by the ambitious set of features you've managed to fit in in such a short timeframe, This game has moved the needle in my mind in terms of what's possible in a 10 day jam.

Thanks so much for giving it a playthrough, you're absolutely right, it's very difficult to judge and a very critical flaw in the game's design, it's unfortunate I couldn't quite get it to work but I'm glad you appreciated the attempt!

Thank you so much for the playthrough and the detailed feedback, it's really helpful, I appreciate it, thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

I completely agree with you about the perspective, I don't think a locked third person camera is the way to go for this type of game but I thought it was a unique idea that was in the spirit of the jam so I decided not to pivot and to try and make the best of it!

Well done on the game!

I genuinely liked the movement a lot, I fell into a nice rhythm and really enjoyed bouncing around delivering burgers.

My main problem was that the high contrast tiled background and rapid movement was really tough on my eyes.

I also did run into a pretty critical problem unfortunately, when I hit slide (ctrl) and forward (w) at the same time it closed all the tabs I had open! 😭 (ctrl + w)

Solid submission with a lot of potential. If you end up patching this further for another jam I'd love to see where you go with it.

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, that means a lot, thank you!

There is only one ending to the game and that's to finally lose to gravity! The ranks do go on forever, it was intended to have a leader board with high scores initially but you know how game jams go sometimes.

Trying to return the favour of your much appreciated constructive criticism!

This is an incredible game jam game, well done, I'm inspired!

Loved:

  • The camerawork you do to set the stage and start the game is really polished, that's something I'm going to steal, great attention to detail for a jam game!
  • The cart falling over and spilling everything was fairly devastating, which I'm sure you were going for, and that definitely hit. The physics in general are really satisfying, I love the way things fly off the shelves!
  • The input feedback and game feel is fantastic, when you run into something you feel the impact. The speed lines (I'm not sure the technical term for this), the trolley tire tracks, they really take the game up a notch in terms of quality, great job!

Suggestions:

  • Could be just a skill issue but for me personally the momentum builds up too quickly, I don't feel like I really have enough control.
  • The ingredients being random every time disincentivised me to try and improve my time since it's essentially just random how quickly you can go. I would have personally preferred a loop more like Explore -> Race -> Improve.
  • The levels feel a little too empty, I think a handful more destructible objects would take this game to the next level!

Really great project overall, congratulations!

Impressive game design! Great job!

Yeah I realised pretty early on that it would be a better game in first person but I wanted to try something unique for the jam. 😆

Thanks for leaving a comment, I really appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I loved the storytelling! The boss was pretty diabolical but I enjoyed the difficulty! Great job!

Really beautiful game, great work!

Thanks very much! That sounds like a great idea, I wasn't super happy with the difficulty progression but there's only so much time!

Ah whoops, my bad! Thanks for playing!

Fantastic game, well done!

Great game, love the take on the theme!

Thank you very much!

Thanks! :)

Thanks very much!

You have to click and drag the cards into your hand to buy them, it can be a little confusing and we probably should have addressed that better.

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

Engaging game with really good game feel thanks to all the visual feedback. Great job!

Awesome game! Simple concept and superb execution! Love the vibe, great job.

P.S. Your Github link 404s

I'm sorry you didn't get this uploaded in time. You made a great game! The UI is gorgeous, I like your twist on the usual kind of click the enemies game, going back to the tree to restore mana is a really nice touch.

One thing I think would take this to the next level is some powerups that scale the player out of control so you're just slaughtering enemies and exploding them in AOE.

Amazing game! I'm sure you would have placed really well had you been able to submit on time.

Here's my rating:

I was terrible at this game 😂 Love what you did with the music and the mechanics feel great. Nice work!

Extremely impressive game for such a short jam! Everything about it feels great when you're playing.

Cool monsters, great audio, game works flawlessly and is fun to play, great job!

Fun game, super cute, really polished product for such a short period of time. Great submission!

Fantastic submission, such a complete experience! Loved the puzzles, the look and the humour. Amazing work!

Great submission! Very complete game for such a short jam. Loved the audio, and had a tonne of fun kiting around, blasting zombies. Did have a couple of framerate problems with a big horde and the handgun but overall I really enjoyed playing this one, good work!

Love the story, the aesthetics, the soundtrack and just the vibe in general but I couldn't manage to kill any enemies, when I hit them with the decay and then the fireball they didn't take any damage and it wouldn't let me cast the decay again. 😢

The movement was really fun to play around with but the projectile speed was so slow even after being fully upgraded. Love the soundtrack, awesome jam submission, great job!
