Really cool entry!
Nice polish, tense music and vfx!
I couldn't get it to run on Firefox, but it worked fine on Chrome.
I'd recommend allowing a camera behind the player to make controlling your jumps easier.
Great accessibility and presentation!

Which path did you choose?
How does your game bring our theme, OUT OF TIME, to life?
Escape Velocity is inspired by real physics. Near a black hole's event horizon gravitational time dilation causes time to slow dramatically. From an outside perspective you would appear to freeze in time as you approach the event horizon.
What did you do to ensure accessibility of the game?
Game difficulty can be adjusted at any time in the options menu to match the players ability.
A toggleable player indicator can help players maintain visual focus and reduce cognitive load.
Flash effects and camera shake can be controlled for anyone with photo sensitivity or motion sickness.
Independent volume sliders can be controlled by the player to make the game available to a wide range of audio setups.
The game uses distinct shapes and high contrast to ensure clarity for colourblind players.
Did you include the Indieformer or Patch Notes logo somewhere in your game?

This game was quite fun! I was able to get to A on Easy and Hard after maybe 20 or so tries? I like the feeling of the rocket jumping, and the indicators... Lots of times I had a really great run only for me to barely misjudge because of the perspective or a platform being in the way and felt like the perspective felt hard to judge at times.
I think the art looks great and I love the tweening of the platforms as they come into view, I do wish the first couple would come in just a hair sooner so I could start planning my route. Music is cool and I think raising up the sound of the rocket jump just a bit would help with the feel.
The loop is super short and sweet which I like, also enjoyed as you got closer to death you had more time to plan, gameplay playing right into the theme. Nice
Great work! Keep going!
Thank you so much for the playthrough and the detailed feedback, it's really helpful, I appreciate it, thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
I completely agree with you about the perspective, I don't think a locked third person camera is the way to go for this type of game but I thought it was a unique idea that was in the spirit of the jam so I decided not to pivot and to try and make the best of it!
I like the whole premise of the design. So basically, jump king + soldier rocket jumping? Got it! Played for dozens of rounds and got S+ in both easy and hard. I quite enjoyed it to be honest! The gameplay loop is super simple yet addictive, and getting a high rank feels ultra-rewarding. Nice job!

Anyway, I think you did a great job making this game! Keep up the good work!
P.s. Is there an end to the game? Surely after S+ and possible S++ or S+++, there shouldn't be anything left?
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, that means a lot, thank you!
There is only one ending to the game and that's to finally lose to gravity! The ranks do go on forever, it was intended to have a leader board with high scores initially but you know how game jams go sometimes.
