Pretty fun, but needs more accurate triggers for dialogue other than just trigger boxes. Try adding Boolean variables which update when the specific actions are triggered. For example, the water lowering by the valve, and going into that new room still gives that dialogue saying we need to lower the water (even though I just did). And the draw distance on some of the 3D models needs to be updated so it doesn't just disappear and reappear (especially for the ladder props). Also if a player walks into the wall backwards, the camera will get shoved up in the character. The level design though, is absolutely amazing. It's got great lighting and the foilage is great.

Can you not take critisicm? This person is being kind and you are literally insulting them.

By the way the music is not great when it comes to the music theory behind it. It disobeys every single thing taught in music class (if the composer took it). You are using multiple minor seconds not even in a melodic way or to support the chord. The chormatic bass line would fit if the melody wasn't just going F - E - F - E (Fa - Mi - Fa - Mi if you use Solfege). And it spends awhile on a tritone which in this context DOES NOT FIT.

Also forgot to mention this, yes I'm partially telling you that you can't mainly because it's going against the rules of multiple jams that you've published this to (Brackeys and Animatronic Nightmare). Which as of now you are both disqualified from.

No, I'm not telling you to like remove the project, just it's against the rules of the Animatronic Nightmare - Horror Game Jam. The game must be made through the timeline of the jam, not before.

There is nothing wrong with your project, it's got much potential.

The story is to set the mood or just inspire ideas (from what I can tell). The theme is: "Make a horror game in 2 weeks themed around animatronic monsters and cursed, condemned establishments."

How long did it take you to make this? This is impressive for the jam just starting like barely 3 hours ago.

Hi! My discord is celestialstudio. I'm working on a with a friend and I think that your music would fit really well!

My Discord is celestialstudio

I'll give a lot more information in Discord because it's all easily accessable there.

Did you learn absolutely nothing from what literally every article said? If you're going to call people "bad people" you better actually have some evidence that multiple people from both perspectives can agree on.

Nooo! By you not purchasing any games the entire itch.io website will collapse (massive amounts sarcasam). You got to understand that itch.io is following the payment handlers rules because they absolutely have to. Itch risks loosing this website if they don't follow the payment handlers rules. The payment handlers are the only reason why itch.io and the developer community (who makes paid games) can earn money. They are the entire backend of all the payments.

And I'm sorry if your 18+ games which you purchased gotten taken down. Maybe it might be a good time to reflect on those purchases of 18+ games and your life if you're having to complain that much over multiple posts. Maybe try to get in a real relationship with actual human beings and not art drawn by them.

It's not their fault though. It's not like itch.io can run without the whole money system behind it. Without it, absolutely no one gets paid. It's sad to see how toxic the itch.io community has been since all the dumb things that Collective Shout and other similar organizations have been doing. If you aren't willing to accept that it's not itch.io's fault, then why complain about it? There are way too many people going against what you've said. And at least while you are complaning at least have some more respect about it. And try to put some more thought into what you are writing because this is making you look even stupider with your only way of fighting back is by calling everyone "homophobes".

Ok! So to find the best way to start you've got to provide a bit more info. You can share brief summaries of your game ideas (make sure to include the genre and 3D/2D and visual style). Those details can set you up to start your first game. Also do include your PC Specs so I know what engines you can use (Ram Amount/GPU/CPU/Storage: If it's a LapTop just tell me the model).

Python is very slow, but I found the syntax to be very easy. Javascript does have somewhat similar syntax to most of the C-based languages so it's more useful I guess.

Python is another good alternative to Javascript! Also if you're starting from absolutely zero programming knowledge, try out scratch. It'll help you understand how to think like a programmer. Python and Javascript just will introduce you to syntax and format.

I've got a few things to say to you.

1. Unity actually removed all those runtime fees since the new ownership. (You can entirely blame John Riccitiello for the fees)

2. There is a very low chance that any of those engines that you mentioned will ever pull [another - in case for Unity] problematic update to their TOS. And if one of those problematic TOS updates was shipped, the entire community will fight until they've got their free engine back. Unity's runtime fees only lasted just over a year (January 1, 2024 - September 12, 2024) if that gives you more proof.

3. The phrase "The tool doesn't make the artist. The artist make the tool." IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING lol. I've never heard of that phrase before, but it's amazing.

Honestly, I don't expect them to do really anything about it. Duolingo has many horror games surrounding it already. And Duolingo doesn't even take themselves seriously.

You're probably able to if you decompile the game entirely and change view what files are related to the language(s) you want to modify. The files you'd have to modify are all in the category of 2D Art. You can probably either find them off Duolingo and change the size through GIMP to fit into the game properly. It would take some hard work to do so, but if you're up for the challenge - there's nothing stopping you!

Not sure if you are still looking for a team, but I'll shoot my shot!

Discord: celestialstudio

Sorry if it's so brief haha. It's quite difficult for me to explain all of the game in something short and summarized. All you need to know right now (from this message) is that we're looking for your Japanese Translation.

Wow! That looks absolutely amazing.

Hello! You still looking for a team? If you'd like to join, my discord is "celestialstudio", no capital letters lol.

Hey TurtleBox, again haha! You still looking for a team? (I could easily just ask through Discord, but no lol)

Hello! You still open? Also I've reached out to you via Discord.

It might be an error with rendering the cutscene! I cannot fix it though because no other bug fixes are allowed in the jam

Hey! I'm really excited for this jam and can't wait to submit a project and start working! But my one question is: can we donate about 75% or more of our winnings instead of 50%? I've always wanted to support others in need through donations and help, but I've never really could allocate money to help. Also are we able to choose multiple charities to donate to? Like adopt a classroom (Funding for Schools), St. Jude (Cancer Research), National Alliance to end Homelessness, ASCPA (Animal Shelters).

Thanks, I'll watch it soon! I'm still confused how my game is still getting people that are playing it 😂.

Just sent you a friend request! Can't wait to hear from you! I'll give you all the information for the project, it's for a game jam.

Wait, you posted on my topic ask to join already 😭. Either my poor memory is working or I didn't check. Sorry. But are you still interested as the new question 😂.

Hello! I'd love to have you join my team! And like always, I love the horror genre! My discord is celestialstudio, and can't wait to talk to you!

Hello! Your work is absolutely amazing! I'm wondering if you'd like to join our team! My discord is celestialstudio, and we've met on the Dark Poet's server!

Hello! I'm quite interested, and love to have newbies on the team! It's great experience for all of us! My discord contact is celestialstudio, and I'm a long-time member on the Dark Poet's Server!

r/Winniethepooh - Piglet's Big Return: Unofficial Remake of Piglet's Big Game. Looking for Concept, 2D, UI, and 3D Artists.

Wow! I've learned a LOT from this game. Life as a sword is tough, yet simplistic. I would 100% recommend spending at least an hour playing this!

That is one of the absolute funniest responses I've heard in awhile insulting this creator for being a pedophile and grooming minors. And for my message if TheAnh reads this, "There is no way to go back from this mistake. You are too far. I'm going to spend 27 days working to specifically get you behind bars. The absolute messed up stuff you said to that 14-year-old is already insane. Not sure if you've gotten any brain injuries recently, but you think that 'waiting is not grooming'. You are already talking to that 14-year-old and saying of all the s3xual stuff you want to do with her. I've got pure evidence so don't you dare delete this post or itch.io remove this because you are supporting a pedophile and child-groomer if you do". That was a lot 😂. Sorry, been needing to get that off of my chest. I'm nowhere near mentally stable, but I do know that I am mentally stable enough to not talk to 14-year-olds and groom them.

Hey! This was a pretty fun game! Ended up playing it for about 10 minutes. I've got a few suggestions and bugs for you to fix.
---------------------------------------------
1. Staying in the very top right and bottom right corners bypasses all gameplay. No bombs will spawn in front of the player.

2. Adding more controls (Arrow Keys)

3. More visible controls/tutorial at the start. I was very confused on what to do and still am.

4. Making the nukes movement more predictable. Instead of stopping then starting, make it have a very short start delay then an exponential movement vertically.

----------------------------------------------

I really like this concept, and hope you'll make those fixes and make a full-version of this game!

Hey! Nice game! You're really fast, and this is a great quality game for being made in less than two days! Good Job! I haven't found any bugs during the playthrough. Only thing that you might change is making the story much more out there. Couldn't quite understand why Robots? And some of the assets don't seem to fully fit in. Game was quite fun, and a bit difficult because those robots were always moving. Maybe have the Robots go to one area, then stop then move back? Also you might want to include boxes seperating each robot in the first level. Also you should give the option to use Arrow Keys to go left and right, and the spacebar to jump. So here's a list of what I'd fix
---------------------------------------------------------
Fix

1. Making the story stand out more
2. Adding Barriers between robots for slightly easier gameplay
3. Adding more controls (Left Arrow, Right Arrow, Space Bar, Up Arrow)
4. Changing out some of the assets to fit better with the art style.

Found another place uploaded... https://filehippo.com/download_how-to-build-a-snowman/

Hey! Your game is awesome, but just wanted to let you know that someone must of uploaded your game (as malware) on here https://how-to-build-a-snowman.en.softonic.com/. Make sure you've got an Adblocker on before. And if you did upload it to there, well I found it!
