Very cool concept, and very fun, already played it a couple times through.

I do have some feedback though:

  • It could be clearer that not all connections can carry energy, and the little energy orbs should go only through the ones that work (now they will go through the center if they can, even though it doesn’t count as a connection that carries energy).
  • You start with mushrooms having one connection already, but throughout the game I didn’t notice any need to have mushrooms connected to the network since they can grow out connections from anywhere, even parts they are not connected to.
  • There is an exploit in giving energy. If you choose a plant to give energy, choose one plant to give it to, then press give energy, the plant looses 2 energy first, then starts giving out energy. While the little orbs are coming out of the plant you can still select other plants to receive energy and it works. So effectively you can give all connected plants energy for a cost of 2.
  • Also, you can end turn while a plant is giving energy, and it will get disabled for the next turn.
  • It might be interesting to explore giving the player ability to choose where the plants are placed, maybe in combination with the energy bearing connections not being constant but somehow randomized. Could give more replay value to the game.

But overall still a very good experience. I think it would do very well as mobile game if expanded further. Good job :D

I like the idea, the character art, the setting. It can be really difficult to make grappling mechanics feel right, there were a couple of times during my playthrough where it felt a bit finicky, but I think your really close. I’d love to see this setting explored after the jam, reminds me a bit of Citizen Sleeper. :)

A very unique game, beautiful. The artstyle, the mood and atmosphere, very well exectued. I enjoyed it very much. Would love to see it taken further after the jam :D

Thanks, I’ve finally figured it out. 𜷼

Loved exploring these beautiful worlds. Amazing vibes, visuals, animations, sound effects and music. Everything is on point and very polished.

I just didn’t get the playground stamp. Got all the other ones, but couldn’t figure out how to get that one. :(

I’m not really satisfied with the physics of the van either. They currently utilize Godots builtin vehicle physics for the sake of completing the submission in time, but if we continue development I would prefer to make something custom instead. And as for AWD, it makes a huge difference but we’ve noticed that a big number of players can’t really experience it due to having difficulty controlling the van in the first place. Which ties in with what you’ve said about level design, and I completely agree. We’ll need to find more playtesters for next time to help strike a better balance between the number of features and their quality :D

Thanks for all the feedback, really appreciate it.

Yeah, we’re aware that you can get stuck on some rocks and stuff, you can press F4 while you’re in the van to nudge it around and get it unstuck :D

Yeah, combat systems always take a lot of time and playtesting to balance. Part of the reason we opted to not have one this time around hahaha

Incredible what you’ve been able to achieve in such a short time! Haven’t had time to finish it, but I got to the part with the arrows, and had lot’s of fun playing it so far. Probably the most polished and biggest game submitted to this jam that I’ve played till now.

Still a very cool project though. Would love to see it taken further after the jam!

The upload date for the demo is Feb 9th, was this made during the gamejam?

Awesome interpretation of the theme. Cozy art style. Very well executed. The artbook at the end is a cool touch.

Absolutely brilliant. Everything from idea to execution. Great twist on theme. Definitely one of my favourtes from the jam. Bravo!

I see in the comments that you already know about the error, I’m looking forward to seeing the ending once the uploads are unlocked again.

Cool puzzles. The grappling mechanic gives it some speedrunning potential, I found a couple places here you can skip the intended route :D

Overall a fun short experience. Good job.

Visually it is very nice.

The combat feel could use a bit of refinement in some aspects to be honest.

  • Something that I personally haven’t enjoyed in any game of this type that I’ve played so it may be just my bias, is that just touching enemies damages you.
  • The block actually feels quite nice once you get the timing. I know that for some people this type of blocking wouldn’t feel right, but for me that’s a positive.
  • Combo attack could benefit from a timing aspect, e.g the perfectly timing the third attack deals extra damage.

Overall, I do like the idea, visuals and writing. Well done.

Interesting idea and setting, fun to play and the puzzles where well designed.

My only gripe is that the controls didn’t really feel consistent. For example, on some levels E would interact with the other Muskoom throughout the whole stage, while on other levels it would have a limited range.

Very cool idea and a nicely executed prototype. Would love to see it expanded into the full vision you had for the game :)

Deliver packages for friendly frogs in a hilly remote region overlooked by a mountain range in Skok the Postman, an entry for the thatgamecompany × COREBLAZER GAME JAM 2025.

I see, I’ll try it out again and give it some more time :D

Tank controls are an interesting choice considering the platforming bits. The puzzles were fun thought :)

Looks beautiful from the screenshots and I love the character design, but the game was stuck on “Beginning journey” for me.

Cool little game, I think I got all the animals :D The art direction looks incredible, only wish I was able to rotate the camera around to see more of it.

Took me a bit to cross the road, but still a cool experience playing as a cat and seeing the world from this perspective.

Short and sweet point and click. Nice atmosphere. Well done :)

Very interesting take on the theme. Played all the way to the end and enjoyed it very much.

Player for only around 15 minutes so far, but the game is very cute and cozy. Loved the voice acting :D

Well made, nice looking, and a unique interpretation of the theme.

A bit dark at the start, had to lower my blinds :D

Interesting idea, and well executed. Overall, just a very nice little game.

Still trying to get all of the birds :D

Soup is, both in its gameplay and its aesthetic, simple but by no means boring. The whimsical outlines of villagers move clumsily and gracefully at the same time. Giving the player the ability to look at the sky, to stir and taste the soup, are so mechanically minimal, yet add so much to the experience. The soundtrack ties it all together so nicely, and the ending is beautiful. Projects like this elevate the medium of video games from entertainment to art.

hope you all enjoy our game :) https://497f.itch.io/skok
