Very nice game! I think the main thing you can improve is platformer physics. The jump height is very hard to control, and it's very inconsistent. Sometimes a full jumps will be higher than another one, and it feels very luck-based. Also, if you jump exactly as you land, the jump will always be tiny. 

I suppose the way you make the character jump is to apply an upward force. I think it's often better to act directly on the rigidbody's speed. Something like that:

rb.velocity = new Vector3(0, jumpSpeed, 0)

There's also this bug that lets you go through walls. But it really helped me to get a good time in my speedrun.

Love the concept, love the final phase with the transitions
The platformer part probably needs more polish (custom physics, input buffer for the jump)
A bit sad you can block yourself from the game if you go to a checkpoint and don't collect the first keys

This game is pretty cool! The genre swapping is really neat. But, I feel that maybe refining one of these genres and swapping between a platforming section and a shooter section might have helped, or vice versa. The reason why I say this is that the shooting section feels better to me, as the power-ups and enemies feel quite fleshed out! However, it felt like it was a bit crowded, and was sometimes hard to properly battle the enemies, but that wasn't a huge deal :) the platformer section though, felt a bit... strange. I move more then a actually press the button, which can be a bit frustrating, especially on smaller platforms. Overall, this game is a cool usage of the theme aberration, with pretty fun gameplay, although both section have a few hiccups. Still, nice work! :) (sorry if the review is too harsh)

Gameplay is pretty smooth for both modes and the level design is good. If I could give feedback I would make the art more consistent especially in terms of pixel sizes and colours, but well done for making an engaging game with good pacing that people can actually finish.

Hey buddy quite a nice game! I found it quite interesting in terms of the dynamics of the aberration . I liked that combination of 2 universes the platformer and the action-packed top down shooter. and the ending is neat, the boss fight felt cool and overpowered if you grabbed the powerups. which is nice for this short game.  and well done. transitioning from these two worlds but unifying them in some way! Quite a cool entry, I enjoyed it!

Nicely done - completed till the end :) Enjoyed playing that - great work!

I liked the switching between the different genres and the different graphic styles. I did find the platform sections a little too unforgiving though... It's a minor detail, but I think for the player character, having a jump-graphic would've helped it look at lot better - currently as he's jumping he's got his legs in a stance... 

Kudos for getting this done in the time frame - great stuff :)

I really liked that game. And actually played it to completion!
It only looks like one game. It is, in fact, two games who switch every several seconds.

I only realised it makes a switch several minutes into the game, because I kept dying over and over again. It took me some time to get used to the controls (some polish would be greately appreciated).

I liked the ending, where it all becomes a frantic dash to the escape. Bravo and good work!

Interesting concept. Swapping back and forth between gameplay modes is something I haven't seen in a game since Contra 3 and they definitely didn't do it like this. The mechanic for the final bit (your location in the side scroller influences your location in the top-down) has a lot of potential for mazes and puzzles similar to Fez.

You've taken care of the visual aspect and that is very welcome. I was surprised that a pixel art hero fitted with more polished building blocks. Because they have different palettes and while the hero is violent the world is eye-candi, it feels a bit like SWAT meet Super Mario.

I think that the main strength of your proposal is multimodality. First, because you alter the game. But when the aberration comes, you don't just change the game rules (now it is top-down)m but include two interesting mechanics: weapons can change and different enemies, to the extent that demons split into smaller demons. This all results in a fresher experience, as the player is constantly updated so he cannot get stuck in a single mechanic. Also, you are giving the player agency to move (spatial strategy) and to chose which weapons fit best (offensive strategy). The block that runs to you once you hit the ground was also surprising, didn't allow me to relax because that meant that anything else could happen.

Regarding playability, I just missed two things: a sight in the top-down shooter and some input about how many keys I needed to open the door. It could be a bit more storytelling, but after all this is a game jam and I consider it was best to put your efforts on building, as I said, this multimodal experience ;)

This was cool. I like how you switches between worlds. the last run where you run in both worlds was really great. The difficoulty level was also great, it felt challenging but not too hard. The controlls could been improved though. the charcter feels floaty in the the platforming world and not a bit slow in the topdown world. The art doesn't look like it's created for the same game.  the realistic military character doesn't seem to be the best fit with the cartoony platforms he is jumping on. I also found a bug where the controlls stop working after switching between worlds the first time. I recorded my playthrough:

I really liked that! Honestly I died a lot cuz I suck at jumping, but that was still really nice. I like the aberration of the world switching back and forth. :)

I rather like the changing between game modes but it felt like more of a hassle after a bit of time as their was no reward for doing it other than you got to live which wasn't to hard to achieve. Would love to have seen it perhaps be used as the key to opening doors instead of collecting keys as you go, example: approach door,  survive aberration, door opens. All over I think it was a rather neat idea, great work getting it all done!

It's quite cool; I think what could make the game better is more consistent visuals with your sprites as well as the colour palette. For example the character has a darker colour as well as more pixels which make it more defined than lets say the ground tiles.

Yeah, I understand, I'm not really an artist either, some of the assets in my game have been outsourced but I had to draw some by myself and it was a lot of erasing and re-drawing xD
