Great harvest&combat game, really really good! Scythe gets too fast tho, which is a little bit sad cus there is a need of enemy variety and more upgrades. Farming is nicely done and movement is cool! Awesome job, I hope you will update the game!

Thanks for play, I have checked yours out as well. Yes indeed we could probably increase the amount of stuff to do, weapons to unlock, other items like different costumes, and ultimately have an end goal you are working towards as well. Thanks for playing.

My biggest complaint is that it ends so soon, which is a good complaint. It was so easy to get the scythe upgrade and there just isn't much to do afterwards. Interesting concept though. There's something in the gameplay loop of killing enemies so you can far.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. We were just talking about this today, something we thought of is increasing the drops from enemies so you could fill out your farm even more and it would look cooler/feel better too. And then just offset the prices a bit for the increased drop rates. There was going to be a healing item that you had, much like an estus flask etc, but we wanted the game to be cozier so we went with healing over time to a... pretty ridiculous degree. Healing items would have had an upgrade path as well. Then there would have been a final goal of collecting enough candy for the big event: Halloween! Cut for time unfortunately.

I'll check your game out as well and thanks again for playing and the feedback.

I loved the the aesthetic! Nice work!

Thanks for playing and thanks for the nice words.

Loved the 2.5D aesthetics which makes the game very cute and pleasant

The game talks all the time about the plantation to the north, so I focused a lot on that information and took a while to explore other things (like the forest, since you have to go there before planting). I was a little confused by it, but once I found it it was fun to play

Nice work!

Sorry we didn't have a proper tutorial or anything. I will try to make it more clear in the future what the intention was. We had thought about giving the player some seeds and spores to start out or put them nearby to pick up but thought that might be more confusing actually.

Thanks for playing and I'll definitely check out your game as well.

The best gameplay from all the games I've played! I LOVE the paper 3D feel.

Unfortunately game direction isn't very clear, I bought all weapons and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the axe/scythe.

Having a final objective will be great.

Overall a superb game for 2 weeks of work!

Thanks for playing, yeah my brother was suggesting that we add a reason to be doing stuff. The weapon upgrades just make it easier to kill stuff and accrue candy faster. His idea was collecting a certain amount of candy for Halloween, but we were kind of burnt out from the Unity news and all that and trying other engines that we didn't end up adding that. Good point though, definitely keep that in mind for the next one. I'll give you game a go as well, thanks again.

Perspective is great! The art is nice as well. Polish is to be expected! You have a great concept and the established " gameplay loop" is there which keeps you playing! Amazing job, you can see the tremendous effort that was put in. You should be proud of yourself(lves)!!

Thanks a lot for the kind words. I will check your game as well!

The scale of this game is insane to me for being a 2 week project, love the art style, and love the actual effects and gameplay. Would definitely recommend playing.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you, can't really take much credit for the art as they were assets for the 2d and 3d pieces, but the ground was made by our resident 3d artist, the grass bits. He just had a baby so he was a bit indisposed so we mostly used assets here. I feel like it falls a little short of my expectations for myself because I think we managed to get basically more done in a 48 hour jam, but we were working on it more, basically the whole time and had more people behind it. We almost quit but we pulled through and managed to at least finish something, albeit a little janky in some areas. I'll be sure to check out your game as well. Thanks again.

Edit: Oh yeah my brother made a couple of the sprites as well, the mushroom spores and pumpkin seeds.

The idea is very good. I also liked the visual style (it reminded me of Don’t Starve). But the implementation is a little crude. It seems to me that you can add a little more different sounds and music, in addition to the main theme. You can also add an animation for enemies taking damage, otherwise when I hit, sometimes it’s not entirely clear whether I hit it or not. I understand that you may have been short on time. Overall it was fun to play. If you finish the game, it will be great.

Developer(+1)

Very good point on adding in some feedback of hitting. I will definitely improve that in future games. Thanks for playing. I'll check yours out as well.

Very cool proof of concept! Felt a little Atomicrops-inspired. Love the 2.5D and with some more content seems like it's set up for a very satisfying game loop. Nice work!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing, I've never even heard of Atomicrops, I'd say inspiration was more Cult of the Lamb and combat was definitely inspired by Wizard of Legend. Plenty of other inspirations sprinkled in as well but I'll definitely look into that and give your game a try.

Cool game! I like the pseudo 3D camera perspective with the 2D sprites, gives the game a unique pop-up book kind of feel :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, yeah we kind of thought the 2d in 3d thing would feel cozy for some reason. Not sure it landed where we wanted it by the end but we did something at least. Thanks for playing. I'll check out your game as well.
