its a very cool text based game i love it. you should check out my game too

I'm usually not a fan of text based games but the idea here is pretty interesting.

I would've loved a little more interaction, maybe some sound effects or a different way of setting up the lies and analysis in such a way that they become necessary to progress, like pointing out a lie and then using it in different dialogues as a point to get more evidence.

Also, requiring some kind of evidence before giving an answer could prove more interesting than just having it available all the time, because then you can just try every possibility without any kind of real repercussion.

Wow! Great idea and game.

Mr Whiteeeee

Interesting take on the theme, I like it. Well done :)

I spent 30 minutes reading all the statements, I pretty much just guessed at the end of it correctly. Nice game!

The game is really nice! Except the whole mystery was too hard for me to unravel, it felt nice to look for inconsistencies between their statements. Hope there was some hint or something. But overall, I really liked the game.

Loved this game! me and my team also wanted to make a detective game, but we didn't have any idea to make it more interesting, and we're all bad at writing. But you executed this idea in a really good way!

interesting take on the theme, was little bit overwhelmed from all the information, but intriguing story and nice murder mystery

Cool Game! Took us a while to solve. I'd say it need Colour Coding on each people's name. It'll make a game much awesome.

I really liked this murder solving game!! There are a lot of information to read at first but it had to be read to know what happenned! Maybe if you want to turn this into a real game, you could consider to add an audio to narrate the story? It would be so sick! Well done!

You can also check my game if you have time :D

Alright, I got a little overwhelmed, so in the end I just blamed the person I liked the least. As it turns out, I got it right. So that is a major ego boost.  Thanks for the fun experience :)

cool little game and hits the theme delving deep into the investigation. Now my brain is too small ngl it took me way too long but i got it in the end. lol great job well done

Developer

Nah, it's not your brain. Initially, it felt too easy and I ended up adding too much content.

I'm glad to know you did solve it, though!

Thank you for playing!

I really love these kinds of logic problems, and I tried for quite a while to solve this one, but I just couldn't figure out which statements were lies. Really interesting game though.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I think I made it a little too hard... I started this project pretty late and didn't have time to test if it was solvable.

It's an appealing setup, and it's fun to investigate, but this didn't really work for me.  There are so many lies, and I despaired of identifying them all. Eventually I picked the killer based vaguely on who seemed shiftiest, and got it right 🤷🏻‍♀️

Couple of suggestions:
- It's hard to distinguish the characters; it would help to have them marked with their gender
- Some of the statements are hard to judge without seeing the interrogator's questions

I'd love to see a more fleshed out version of this idea.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'll keep it in mind.

I had an initial version that felt too easy and ended up making it too hard.

I like these kind of riddles. Very nice. I wish I have the option to return to the lies/analyse section when I accidentally click on solve the crime. Also it would be nice if the lies/analyse stay there instead of removed. Cool game

Developer

Thank you!

Yes, I definitely wanted to add that return button and forgot... oops

I think, ideally, you should be able to move them from analyse to lie, instead of having to go back to statements, but I started this project too late into the jam to make it work in time :/

Submitted

Well that was certainly something.
