Since I'm off home now, I was forced to play this masterpiece on my old laptop that hasn't been turned on for months until today, and out of all the things that the game has, it's the realtime lights that reduced my framerate to 4 FPS 😭

Eitherway I managed to play this through and I'm absolutely impressed! It feels like it's 3 standalone games of varying quality in one fleshy devil package! First a racing game that feels like the most Unity thing ever made in Unity, then a tetris-like that looks like a completely different game, then it's fucking Death Stranding - with ONLINE FEATURES. The messaging tool broke after one use (Still shows the submitting text and I can't really make another message again), but the fact alone that there's a form of online service in a 9 day game jam is actually fucking insane. I can see that you threw a lot of ideas around while making this and got really creative, well done!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

I think this is completely valid - In truth, there was barely any testing done prior to the submission (outside of my own of course). The game is based on a concept of randomized chaos, which definitely is a niche one when made into a game, but I can see that I went way too far in some parts. I released a patch last night to make the game more Target score focused and shorter and to reduce the visual effects. Eitherway, thanks for the feedback!

This game is masterfully done.

For the horror part, the visuals, atmosphere and the sound design are absolutely amazing and really contribute to the experience. Though it's a somewhat niche genre, I LOVE horror games and the whole thing was just pure adrenaline. The fact that you're chased by a fucking Serafim adds to the experience, I always thought that they would be terrifying to actually encounter in real life. It also puts to show how terrifying a seemingly unassuming boss fight can be if you have no form of defense whatsoever.

If there's something I got to praise the most, it's the genre fakeout part which was an absolutely unexpected whiplash to me. I was actually sold on the fact that it was a top down RPG game and on the error too of course. Deadass, I screenshot the error and was about to post it here as if it was an actual bug.

This game is not "so bad it's good", it's just "so good it's good", it's absolutely impressive. I actually noticed your elaboration on that in a reply and I think that's absolutely valid. Great work!

I absolutely understand that the game takes too much time and energy and that it's absolutely not for everyone. I actually tried to make the game easier but with such crunch pace comes the fact that barely any testing has been done outside of my own and well, let's say I have a niche interest in difficult games 😅. Now that I think about it, I should release a patch that adds leads to the minigame solutions and generally makes the game easier

Eitherway, thanks for your detailed feedback! You managed to play more than halfway through the game which in itself is impressive given your tolerances!

Thanks for actually playing the game through and finding the boss fight cheese!

Spoiler alert here:

The good ending conditions normally require a lot of tinkering with the scenarios' environments, but I understand that they're WAY too difficult to figure out for a normal joe. So here's the guideline:

-The hide and seek is solved by being never found - Which can be done by going out of bounds. In the first one there's a section to the right from the start where you fall through the floor, in the second one, you just go past the rooms until you teleport beneath the map.

-The bus scene can be solved by finding a gun under a seat and using it on the driver. He will stop the bus and therefore, you'll get out

-Finally, once you have all that done in a single run, you can find the correct code on a wall in a room on the starting hallway. Once that code is entered, you'll be sent into the same boss fight, but with a twist

Been playing the game for at least half an hour. I got through the first 3 levels, got into the stealth horror part, got through a part after many attempts then I fell off the map and never respawned, so I gave up.

I'm genuinely impressed with this game and I absolutely love it. The plot's intital premise makes no sense but the character becomes aware of that. I love the simple artstyle and the soundtrack is absolutely bangin', especially in the forest level. This game reminds me of Super Meat Boy in a sense. This is probably one of the best, if not THE best game I've played on this jam.  Great work!

The fact that this is made with Scratch is absolutely impressive. From what I can tell the music is also remixed using default Scratch samples too. I love how the game detects that you're stuck but literally does nothing about it, forcing  you to respawn. This game is pure irony and I'm all for it

I love how the game at first presents itself as an RPG game then spirals into quite literally being about a gate.  I can see a lot of attention went into this, with the plot and the characters. I love that this game has characters migrating from other IPs / universes with their own funny gags

Trying to launch the .exe file gives me the "windows doesn't have access to specified device path" error, no matter how much I change the permissions. Is there something I'm missing?

Eitherway I like how this game is python based! From what I can see in the folders, the artstyle and sound design is solid too

Alright nevermind that, It suddenly works now. The game is confusing at first but I figured it out. The concept is interesting and definitely could work for sure.  The biggest issue right here is the UI elements going offset from their intended positions based on the screen resolution. I have 1440p but I tried going down and played the game at 720p. Nonetheless, this is impressive for a Python project. Good work!

Hardest line in all of gaming, 11/10

Anyway I loved the attention of detail put into this game. I was absolutely hooked on throughout the whole thing. Great work!

This game has a charming artstyle and I loved the Rythm game twist. If there was one thing I would change, I would put the rythm gauge thingy on top of the player character rather than on top of the screen, but since this is SBIG, I'll let that slide. Otherwise I think this game is solid!

I like this game's artstyle and vibe. The sound design is also solid.

Shame that you couldn't finish it because I think this game has potential to be interesting. Seeing that you're seemingly a beginner, I can tell you for a fact that the more experience you get, the quicker you'll be able to make a working game. I noticed you've attended 3 game jams in a single month, which is actually a fantastic path to take when learning game dev. I've followed you just in case you'll keep it up!

Best comment I've seen this year 💯

Absolute shame that you couldn't finish the game. It almost seems like the entire budget went into the artstyle and music which I thought were really nice

I think the twist with "Go, fish!!" instead of "Go fish." is pretty creative by concept and has a lot of potential plot and gameplay twise.

If you're ever planning to finish/remake this game in one way or another, even if you return to it only after making other projects, I'm wishing the best for you and your progress!

I understand that this is seemingly your team's first release but while it's not a bad game by any means, I thought the gameplay was underwhelming for the most part, parlty due to the lack of sound effects and flair in the gameplay. The plot however is definitely on the stronger side in my opinion. It at first presents as a basic, but comprehensive 'hero saves the princess' story, then it spirals into an absolutely brilliant plot twist which I thought was mad funny.

With that said, never stop cooking. You have a lot of potential as a team 👍

Thanks!

I may have taken the 4 items but I forgot my brain cells in the building, 10/10 would play again
