This is a really cool game! The graphics and effects look really good and the gameplay and its loop are pretty polished. Anyway, to answer your feedback requests:
Bugs:
- The music would (sometimes) not play after restarting from a Game Over
- Running away from enemies will spawn a morbid amount of them around you, completely lagging your game. If you're planning to make updates post-jam, consider deleting enemies that are far away
Otherwise this was a pretty polished experience
Difficulty:
Also relating to the enemy spawn design, the game has a big spike in difficulty once there's piles upon piles of enemies. With the enemy amount the game starts with, it's challenging but not in an unfair way - If the enemies were regulated around such amount, I think the difficulty would be just right
Combat system:
The combat system in general is really well done - I liked the variety in moves and the fact that you have to unlock them first. The only thing that I'd say feels unnatural is the movement when doing the basic 3-hit attack. It's a bit snappy
Run time:
Unfortunately I didn't get to end because of, surprise surprise, enemy spawn rate causing massive lag spikes
Visual Clarity:
The visual clarity is pretty good - There's no shaking, motion blur or any effects that distract you from what's happening on the screen. The coloring really helps with distinguishing various elements.
This game reminds me of Devil May Cry games (and of course my past attempts at copying it) and just the feel in general reminds me of my past game - Breakaway Blob (not self-promo, just expressing my emotions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
