Yooo, I’m the dev of Dr. Strange — just checked out your stream and really appreciate you playing it!!

Sorry about the lag + music issues! didn't get time for that during the jam, Would definite would fix those post-jam! And man… I should really adding an ending screen. The original plan would have different zones, but I ran out of time near submission, so I cut it and made it loop the same level instead, Sorry about that!!

Also, really related with your submission story, sometime a little detail/polish just keep catching the eye after noticed it and can’t stop yourself from fixing it, I'm working on that too haha.

Good call for the BGM issue and the 3 hit combo feel, I got a couple of response with it too, totally noted and would fix it afterward!!

Yeah.. the lagging issues is totally on me, didn't get enough time for that in the jam yet, but your suggestion of deleting enemies that are far away is a really good one, would definitely try it out!

Just checked out your "Breakaway Blob", Really Cool! Totally got the DMC vibe too! but not sure if that's my pc, seems that I'll crash every time I die somehow :O

The first one (guessing the word) was a bit hard for me though, did took me a while to figure it out. But I really like the overall atmosphere and completeness, which are really solid! Great work!

For me, the controls felt a bit slippery and kind of hard to fine-tune. Also the gravity feels a little low when I’m holding two boxes too haha, also, would be nice if each level was a bit longer, but with some save points too!

Hey! thanks for trying it out ! Are you on Windows / macOS / Linux, and which build did you download?

Some quick things could try:

  • Make sure it’s fully unzipped, and run it from inside the extracted folder (don’t move the .exe out by itself).

  • If you’re on Windows: try Alt+Enter (toggle fullscreen/windowed) and press Esc once (might able to fix if stuck at the first frame which looks like a black screen)

  • If it still stays black, it might be a Vulkan/driver issue. If you’re ok with one command test on Windows, open CMD in the game folder and run: dr_strange.exe --rendering-driver opengl3 

Let me know your platform (and GPU if you know it) and I can narrow it down further too! thank you so much!!

I’m not super into spot-the-difference games, but the difficulty actually fits for me, which not tiny stuff of different, but more subtle while still easy to notice (for me at least; not sure if others prefer harder). And the chair turning into toilet was funny haha. Great work!

The Atmosphere and the visual are really amazing, just it feel a bit long for me since each night needed to repeat same process multiple times, suggest maybe could adding some more variety around the shift too, except for those direct trigger scare event, might could add some psychological fear story around the some special passengers who might be ran into between each shift too!

After playing for a while, I died after reaching the first save point and got kind of soft-locked, I couldn’t reach the next area, which either I wasn’t big enough to press the button, or cannot get enough effect to getting out of the the pit, not being able to finish the full run.

Still, Really Amazing For the first time! Keep it up!

One thing though: putting a fake door in level 1 feels a bit much for me, especially since it’s a stylized door and doesn’t read like a “normal” door. On my first few runs, when I reached it (and didn’t even realize it was the door yet), it just disappeared and I had no idea where to go. I actually thought it was like other type of platformers where you need to go left to reach the next level, but I keep dying with that, then after a few runs, the door showed up again after I touched it after waited a moment and I finally understood, Personally suggest that at least don't use it in first level!! 

Anyway, the concept it's really cool! Great Work!

My personally, the BGM is a bit too intense for me, and it feels a little bit “looping”, might make it feel more quickly to start get frustrating, maybe a calmer one would better too!

Anyway, It’s a really good idea! And the execution is great too! Great Work!

Personally suggest of adding some fade-out of SFX to feel a little bit smoother! Sometime might feel cut off suddenly, also, the particle of the enemy attack are really cool! If adding some more particle too when enemy get hit might feel better too!

I found 7 red packets — and two more left are one I can’t figure out how to reach (in the sec last level with two box) and another I can’t even find at all haha. And I really like the moment of going back to the same place with different gravity directions making you can access new paths/areas. Great work!

My only feedback would just about the controls: which feel a little slow/heavy. The animations look great, but if the movement/response speed were a bit faster, it might feel even better!

For my personally, just so small feedback from my side:

  • The camera feels a bit too close, so it’s hard to see the obstacles around and plan where to go next — unless I keep holding the zoom button during the run.

  • Since I’m playing on PC, using the Up Arrow to flip both up and down feels a bit unintuitive. Maybe make it Up = flip up / Down = flip down, or use a separate key like Space / Z.

  • Also, More Checkpoint!

Not sure if it’s my PC or a bug, but the game keeps crashing for me around 70–80 score, so I couldn’t get far enough to comment more on the later gameplay.

Just one small thing personally: in my first few runs, I didn’t notice you can just close the panel. I thought I had to choose “send portal” or “eliminate” right away (especially when there's only a few data). Maybe could place a “Close” button in the bottom or place it to somewhere more obvious too!
