Very fun and dynamic! Mechanically it feels super polished and the retro pixelized style suits it perfectly. Also the music matches perfectly with the visual style. I also really like how the HUD and menu is set up, it's very tastefully done!

Congratulations! Good job :) my score was 1610

Thanks, really appreciate it! ^^

My high score is 1480! This game was very charming and felt very polished throughout my playthrough. Really felt like a retro arcade game, good work!

Thanks for the kind words! This is a pretty nice score, our team mostly got 2000-3000.

Wait, why did this game slap so hard? The animations are amazing! The controlls are insane. The concept is simple! It's basic, and I love it! If I have any complaints is that I would like for the controls to be in the game page also, because that's where I'm used to finding them and I didn't see the how to play the first time I played the game. But seriously. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and kind words! Noted that about the controls, so next time we'll try better with that. Good luck on the game jam!

Wait, is this your first game?

It's a first experience for some of our team, including me, but our programmer (zancked) is pretty experienced at it and directed some parts of the game, so big thanks to him at that. He made a couple other games which are worth checking out, with a pretty similar style to this.

I love the 90's feel! The presentation was really fantastic, very good job on that front. The sprites, the music, the sound effects-- all top notch. To offer some criticism, the jump and the attack moves may be a little too similar. I was wondering for a bit if there was even a difference. If you continued to develop this game, you might consider distinguishing the two abilities a bit more.

Developer

Noted that, thanks for the feedback!

Wow! You are a great animator. The animations and VFX are way above your skill level in just static pixel art which is a shame for "selling" me on the game from the screenshots but very charming to play. not sure about the theme interpretation but it works I guess. gameplay a bit repetitive but still enjoyed it

Thanks for the feedback! We kinda planned out more for the gameplay, but due to it being a first experience for some of us, it was a bit hard to bring it in, so we had to scrap that, but yeah, thank you again, really appreciated! Wish you luck!

The screenshots can't sell how nice and fluid this game is, and I felt absolutely no jank in the controls. Great  small game!

Heya, thanks for the feedback, really appreciate that! We tried to do the best we can for this one and for some of us it was our first experience, but it was very interesting to finish it all up. Wish you luck!
