Really good game. I loved it. Good job.

Sometimes the game would freeze and wouldn't let me reset, but having the progress saved is super useful. I just reloaded the webpage and that's it.

Nice work on making something pretty good that works on both the computer and on mobile !

I had several crashes while trying to play, but as I see from the other comments, you are already aware of that.

Other than that, the game is responsive and works well. It's not my favorite type of puzzle tho, I feel like I can't imagine the results in advance, so I end up just trying things until it works, so it's not super satisfying.

But I could see this being pretty fun for people that can do this kind of projection, it reminds me of playing chess in a sense.

Well done !

Interesting little puzzle game. I think it could work well as an mobile game with touch controls (only tried on desktop). I got stuck on level 11 with my limited brain power at the moment. But enjoyed the puzzles before that. A bit of "juice" would add a lot to this game I think, some small visual effects on painting and some "fireworks" on finishing a level.

I had the issue that I had to play the game on keyboard, but then switch to mouse to goto the next level. Which isn't great for usability.

Next to that the "next" button for some reason is "nex". And I had a crash on finishing level 10, where the game would no longer respond and there is some null pointer exception in the developer console.

Thanks for your feedback, the aim was to have a mobile-compatible game. Normally this is already the case, the game can be played from a mobile phone. The first 10 levels are used for the tutorial, the others have been generated, so there's not much of a learning curve and it gets difficult very quickly.

I realize that more animations and SFX are needed to bring the game to life, you are right

I forgot to add the option to skip to the next level using the keyboard, it will be done in the next update

Thanks for the bugs, I've managed to reproduce them and will upload the fixes at the end of this game jam

It is a pretty unique idea for a puzzle game.  Not the most challenging or exciting game, but there's much worse games for mobile phones.  Couldn't find if there was a key to go to the next level, or just the button.  Not sure if there was not one, but much easier to play a game entirely with keyboard if possible!

Thanks for your feedback, and I totally forgot to add a key on the keyboard to move from one level to another. Maybe more animations, mechanics and SFX should be added to make it a bit more fun

Felt it wasn't fun enough for me. Probably because lvls are easy yet a bit too complex. So it feels like I'm doing 7th-grade math: I know I can do it but i don't wanna go through the motions. Maybe it's simply not made for me tho

And yet, implementation is good, feels good to play. Very good job!

Thanks for the feedback, and I understand that it may not appeal to everyone. Unfortunately, the learning curve is not the most logical, so it may also slow some people down to play it. This is due to the fact that I joined the game jam late, so I didn't have time to do more puzzles and have a more gradual curve

oh ye, i feel ya. I've joined late too

But in my case, i wasn't able to fix the flow because idk how. Well, jams are for practice anyway so less time means more intense practice, hehe

Also, i wonder, why didn't you just make the end goal board half-transparent and put it on the main board? Both implementations have pros and cons so I'm interested in your thoughts on it

I asked myself the same thing, and my first thought was that the puzzle would be hard for the player to read. Those were the two most important problems with it:

  • If the player colors a square red when it should be green, how can the player see this without getting confused?
  • If the player colors a good square, how does he know he's colored a good one?

I didn't have any good ideas for how to solve these two problems, so I went with the other, safer idea. But if you have in mind something that could solve these problems, I'd love to see a picture of it

On the other hand, it gives me another idea, which is to put the color of the squares to be filled in on the edge. This would make it possible to put the final goal right on the puzzle. Thanks for making me rethink that

as i was reading the point i thought about the same solution as you, lol

Really cool puzzle game. The mechanics of having set distances/steps really make it unique with the coloring aspect of the puzzle. You really did a good job of introducing each of the mechanics and explaining them.

Thank you !
