The game stressed me out! Kept dying from lightning.

Cool idea but maybe need to dial down the difficulty at the start and/or give more hints in how to survive longer.

Took me a couple of tries but I managed in the end. I really loved the atmosphere and the aesthetic of the game. I think it might not be a bad idea to add a way to rotate the objects. It might make the building part easier and more fun. Also, the last night was terrifying! One blast was enough to destroy my shelter and I had to be fast and rebuild it as fast as I can.

Thank you! Yeah, we did consider that but didn't get it done in time. Basically the gameplay loop came together on the last day of the jam xD
I think we'll add the option to use the mouse wheel to turn objects, or freeze them until you are done placing them and allow you to turn it with arrows...

Really cool idea, gameplay loop is solid, but I agree that first day lightning is just too much.

Developer

Thank you :) Definitely agree, will make the game significantly easier at the start after the review period is over.

I like the visual style of this game, it reminds me of the good old cartoons) Also, various survival games come to mind, where all sorts of horrors happen at night. However, what could be worse than targeted lightning, right? I hope the poor squirrel was taken to intensive care and is alive 🥺

Developer

Thanks a lot :) Yes, it's fine and enjoying all the acorns and nuts it could ever want 🐿️🥜

✨ Graphics, entertaining and futile efforts to strategize out your shelter for crazy squirrel that for whatever reason decided to stay outside during LIGHTNING WAVES AT NIGHT. ⚡⚡⚡⛈

Developer

Thank you! Initially we planned to have the owls in the shelter at night as well for some more interesting diversions but didn't get that done in time.

The concept is great, gathering ressources to build your shelter is fun, but sadly the lightning is way too much of a danger for a first night, and I cant pass it. I feel like there should be a pause button to build your shelter without pressure when the night falls, and maybe the dangers should be more and more intensity every night. For example, the first night could only be a little wind which would test the structure of your shelter.

Congrats on your submission !

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, we did make it a bit hard for the first night. Once we add the owl as a danger to the night, just having wind or maybe one lightning would be viable (because otherwise you don't take damage).

Interesting concept. It's really hard to build a shelter though, the lightning always end up destroying everything for me

Developer

Yeah the lightning is perhaps configured a bit strong... We can decrease the force it emits and the area size a bit I would say.

Interesting idea! I like the use of physics puzzles combined with regular running around to collect things. The tutorial was painfully long and slow and I wasn't able to absorb the information well. Some guidance in the description would have been nicer, or at least an interactive tutorial.

The building was a bit confusing and it wasn't clear at first what the objective even was, and later on how to actually use the tree sap. I felt like it worked some times but not others and I'm not sure what the difference was.

Overall quite good and well polished!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the tutorial was a bit last minute because we felt the game would be a bit hard to grasp otherwise. I agree it could have been better integrated into the gameplay or made faster.

The tree sap is a physics object, so you place it into your shelter and when other objects collide with it they stick to it. That could probably have been explained better ^^

Thank you :)

cute game but i can't figure out how to get the tree sap to stick things together
