How does you game fit the theme?
Connecting trillions of people across the cosmos, surely one will not feel alone when standing at the confluence of countless messages... right?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
The code was written and 2D assets was made during the jam, however most of the 3D assets were not.

Really interesting game!!

The graphics were awesome

I really love the way that you tell what to do on the notes

Well made :)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game! Glad you like the notes hahaha!

The spaceship is really cool and well made!
As others said, it felt a bit repetetive after a while

Developer

Hi there, thank you so much for playing and glad you like the space station! As you and many others had mention, I totally agree, if we were to take the game further, we'll definitely need to add more variation and a sense of progression for each passing days, heck maybe even each message after.

Anyways, thank you so much for playing and proving a feedback!

Really interesting combination of ideas. A few gameplay bits hold it back like having to look at buttons then the wave/constellation, instead of seeing both at once and the wave having to be very specific. However I think it's a great game and could suit a papers please sorta thing

Developer

Hey there, thank you so much for playing! I do agree that the interface could definitely use some improvement. Also yeah, this game can can be a Papers Please sorta game, if we were to take it further we could implement complexities to the task as you progress. and a reward system that matters.

Anyway, thank you so much for the feedback!

This game is so interesting, the idea, the spaceship, the atmosphere, the environment and the loneliness you feel while playing, it's all very well done, I couldn't finish the game because it got a little repetitive, but from what I played it was a very good exprience. At first it was a little difficult to understand what to do but it's ok, great job !

Developer

Hello there, thank you so much for playing, glad you fine the things listed interesting. I definitely felt the game is rather repetitive too, we were thinking of adding more complications and variation to the task as the days progress but at last we ran out of time to do so.  As for being difficult to understand, did the notes help or are there rather confusing to grasp?

Anyways, once again thank you so much for playing and giving feedbacks, appreciate it!

The notes DEFINITELY helped XD XD.

Really nice thought idea, good audio and environment. But game felt a little bit slow, in a loop. I mean, I get signal, read the message(destination), find it and fire. Then another signal.  Thats the loop right, I am not missing anything? If thats the loop, does it have an end? Or something like that?

Developer(+1)

You're not wrong. A part of why the game is like that is a side-effect of the concept, in order to tell a story through the messages you need to repeat the steps for every message. Currently the game takes place over 5 days, If we were to take this idea further perhaps we would add complication that modify or break the cycle as the game goes on.

Love the atmosphere and the surrounding of space was great. Well done.

Submitted(+2)

I felt like I was in a real spaceship.

Submitted(+2)

Lovely atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you. glad you like the atmosphere!

Submitted(+2)

I really like your game.
It´s well designed and I like the attention you paied to the details. I really didn´t expect to actily see the signals or that they are comimg from the direction your aiming your antena at by changing the waves on the screen.
Overall just a really cool game.

Developer

Thank you, glad you enjoy the game!

A lovely Atmosphere :D

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoy the atmosphere, although ngl, I do wish we added some music too in game, it'll make the atmosphere even better.

I love concepts that take the theme of the jam and flip it on its head! That you're connecting people to each other through messages doesn't mean you're not feeling alone yourself. The chess game was a really nice touch - especially since you can walk on the table and knock over a bunch of the pieces. I also loved how the tutorials were shown as post-it notes to remind the hypothetical employee of their work. And the vicious cycle continues...

Bonus points for being able to do a barrel roll in your sleep!

Developer(+1)

So glad someone notice what we did with the theme! Yes indeed we wanted to make player challenge the idea of are they really not alone. In someway this can draws parallel to how social media sells themselves as connecting the world but people that are "connected" can still feel alone and lonely in the physical world. Or in short:  a person in a crowd can still feel alone. Also appreciate it a lot that you noticing all the subtle visual story telling too!

Anyways, glad you enjoy the game and thank you so much for the feedback!

The design is well thought out. It's nice to interact with various machines and make it like a mini game good idea.Maybe a little more sound would be nice

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes I do agree more sound and music will definitely make the game more chill and immersive.

Whelp, this is definitely the game from this jam that I’ve devoted the most time to lol. I really liked this a lot. One of the stories in particular is heartbreaking. They really gave Ahra detention just for pushing Caesar down the slide? Lol but no seriously I think you know the story I mean. I really enjoyed how the tutorial was built into the scene and the visual storytelling in general (the long-distance chess game for example) that drove home the feeling of isolation.

Awesome game guys, thanks for sharing. My game is linked below if you’d like to give it a play.

Hello there, thank you so much for spending your time on our game and glad you enjoy it! Also, appreciate a lot that you notice the subtle storytelling in the scene too.

Thanks for your feedback and will have a look at you game soon.

Developer(+1)

OMG I was not expecting anyone to bother with the code lol :P Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Haha yes the code was an extra bit of fun! I assume “Caeser” was a reference to Caesar ciphers.

Developer(+1)

*googles what a caesar cipher is* ... yes...

Submitted(+2)

Hahaha well that’s just a funny coincidence then.

Wow, so quiet! Took me some time to understand what to do but it seems I enjoy working, transfering messages for strangers :-)

The level design is really nice and I liked how you used the notes to explain the game.

Two things I'd have changed.

1-  Allow to see the target while operating a system (maybe a button to get into "aim" mode and then WASD to actually aim?).

2- Allow to climb from further away.

Great game!

Developer

Hi there, thank you so much for the feedback. Glad you like the level design and in-game tutorial notes.

Indeed I agree, I do feel that the controls will need some tweaking for better user experience.

I really liked exploring the station and finding out what to do. Well done on the sticky notes - they were really helpfull (even if I ignored some :D).

Most I've enjoyed the minigame were you have to adjust the "message-receiver" (pretty good work on the monitor!). While it is easy to figure out to which system the message should go - it is hard to find it in space ^^.

While the game kept me pretty long ingame I miss a replay-value. And also some feedback if the message was correctly would be nice.

Overall this was a nice peaceful game with a lot of cool details :-)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much for playing, glad like the in-built tutorial notes and the "message-receiver" mechanic.

I agreed that we definitely need more visual and audio feedback for various things, including for when player got the message correct. Well, in anyways, glad you enjoy the peaceful vibe and thank you so much for your feedbacks too.

I saw this asset pack on the unity asset store yesturday. I almost downloaded it to help build my level for my game. I decided against it. I got confused about how to play the game and the webgl version has no way to exit mouse locked mode. I had to close my browser to gain control of my cursor. I did not make it very far in the story it felt very lonely and i couldn't figure out how to recieve messages.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! And yeah we saw the asset pack early on and decided to use it as it fits our plan quite well.

As for the game, yeah I'm afraid we kinda ran out of time to get our pause menu working without breaking the game. It's somehow bugged and we can't figure it out in time so we disabled it. For that reason we don't have a way to unlock your cursor and we're sorry for the issue it caused ya.  The receiving message is a bit finicky to do but basically you need to rotate the dish around to face the incoming message.

And for feeling lonely, ya I understand, which means it kinda did what we set out to do. As mention in the "how this game fit the theme" section: "Connecting trillions of people across the cosmos, surely one will not feel alone when standing at the confluence of countless messages... right?".

Anyways. once again, thank you so much for playing! ^_^

A bit confusing still with all of the notes, but REALLY cool game, Nice station design, good gameplay, maybe needed some music, but overall nice experience! 8/10, deserves more ratings!!!

Developer

Thank you!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much! Are the notes too much or are they too confusing? Once again thanks for the feedback ^_^
