Not gonna lie, this game gave me a bit of a flashback to my earliest employment experiences. I've had many a nightmare where I was stuck back behind a register, endlessly fulfilling the demands of silently judging customers, watching and waiting for me to fuck up. I'd drop a burrito or an ice cream only to have them stare at me, wordlessly filling my heart with terror. I never wanted to go back, but here I was, in Cooter's Succulent Luncheons with their faded, incessant leers aimed straight at me, no matter where I went, what I did, or how badly I fucked up.

10/10, would scream again.

This was a very unique game, the interactions were very smooth and the different machines were fun to play around with!

Jam Host(+2)

Really cohesive look, and overall feel! The ambiance and sayings on each of the customer's shirts were the best part for me. I also liked the varied interactions in dispensing the food.

Super well presented, 90s / Fallout / My Name is Earl vibes, personally fell in love with it. Made it to the 3rd day without noticing. Missing some kind of distance grabbing (to clean all the trash specially) but anything else feels so good!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We were going for a grindhouse/postal 2/kingpin late 90's "trashy feel", but My name's earl kinda works too, nice observation! The asset creation process was extremely liberating.

Love the art style

Hey, you're the Groth guy! That was one of my favorites from the last jam, I need to check your new game as well.

lol I'm honored you remembered that 😄

Nice Art Style! I like the 90's game graphic style! Also nice game!  I was gettin anxious for all the customers waiting for my order!

What art-house! 5 days and I literally lost my mind from litter. And that's good fitness!

And thanks for teleportation.

What a vibe! Super well put together and I loved the aesthetic. This would make a great slice of a bigger game that takes place in that grungy world.

this is so good, i got to the 3rd day but didn't notice any difference but the artstyle is just perfect, feels like something i'd find on gamejolt in 2016 and i mean that in the best possible way, also loved how every dispenser had a different feel to it, great game

i just noticed u guys made big boss which is a favorite around this house, small world lol

Developer

I'm really glad you liked Big Boss, we've been recently kind of working on it again and we seriously want to make it into a "full" game

Submitted

it definitely has the potential to be a full game, i dont think i've seen anything like it. good luck with the development i cant wait to see how it turns out

Hmmm... I played through two shifts. Is there something that is supposed to happen at some point or is it just indefinite gameplay of serving food to customers?

Very nice atmosphere !
Is it right that there is not controller movement ? Unfortunately I have a pretty small play space and I was not able to really play the game because of that :(

Developer(+1)

Hey, you should be able to teleport around the place. Which headset do you have?

Submitted (1 edit)

Valve Index. Maybe I didnt press enough buttons ^^
What is the input to teleport ?

Developer(+1)

Should be the primary button.

I was now able to properly move around but I am unsure on how to complete an order.
Pressing the red button didnt work and after the time ran out nothing happend.

Still nice presentation thematically pleasing !

Developer(+1)

Did you put it on a tray? It might sometimes bug out so picking the tray and putting it on the counter again should be enough to fix it.

Submitted

Ah that could be it, thanks I ll give it another try.

The art style and feel of the game is spot on! The feel and sounds of the dispensers made them really fun to play with. Although the fisheye effect made me a bit nauseous(probably intended) it is a really cool effect!

Really loved the different dispensers and the art style. I felt like I was going to get jumpscared because of the ominous music but that made me work faster so I guess it worked a treat!
