The concept is amazing and the old school turn based dungeon crawler style somehow really fits VR. Also liked how the inventory sort of stacks like a hand of (MTG) cards. At the first try I didn't actually realize the spells can stack, but pulling off the final nuke on the second run was really fun :D
Thanks for playing!
Tile movement works very well here! I got eaten once or twice but it was fun ^^
Thanks for playing!
A lot of features packed in here, and all in a week!
Awesome work!!!
Thanks for playing!
A very good prototype, the levels show different cases and perspectives for the development of the game. I like all aspects.
In the final level, there was a bug that a last scroll hung in one hand, but there is a workaround - you just need to take this scroll from the inventory in the other hand.
5 out of 5.
Thanks for playing!
Awesome game! Felt super polished and casting the spells was fun.
Thanks for playing!
Very well made and executed! I loved the atmosphere and the scariness the enemies gave off without ever jumping out at you. The only thing I found a bit weird was the snap turning. While it makes sense that you would snap in 90 degree increments in the context of the game, it threw me off as someone who uses it to make small adjustments for comfort rather than as an actual mechanism for turning. I was definitely a bit disoriented for the first 5 minutes. But I pulled through, made it to the end and had quite a bit of fun strategizing spells!
Good to know about the turning prefrence! I should prioritize options for that next time. Thanks for playing!
Never think of a turn-based game for VR, it fits so well with the theme! I would love to have an extended version of this game with obviously more spells about increased mobility, freezing enemies in place or differente AoEs.
I got stuck due to a bug that I couldn't do anything with a Fire spell stuck in my right hand. I was only able to move and got surrounded by enemies which force me to quit the game and restart.
Good game and nice job!
Sorry about the bugs! I couldn't figure that one out in time 😅 -- though if you grab the stuck spell with your other hand it should fix it. And thanks for the feedback! More spell types would be cool
I actually enjoyed the turn-based gameplay despite not usually being a massive fan of that type of game, but in VR it feels much better for me and suits the teleportation movement well. The different upgrades to the fire spell also added extra strategy to the game which I liked. Would love to see this idea being taken further beyond the jam!
Thanks for the feedback!
Very fun game. However I was able to get stuck between two monsters and not move anymore.
Very well executed too. Great work!
Thanks for playing!
Very fun game! The strategy and overall concept of the game were great, and the enemies weren't too punishing, so I could still maneuver if I messed up. I really enjoyed the tile based movement, but it could've been nice if the camera jumps were a little smoother, they hurt my head a bit. Overall though, I loved the concept and loved the game. Great work!
Thanks for playing! Good idea to add an option for smoother movement between tiles
I liked a lot the tile movement system and the inventory system. I enjoyed it even if you cast in the wrong place you need to restar the game
Thanks for playing despite the annoying bug! 🙏
Totally dig the old school tile based movement. Even though I lean towards faster paced VR experiences I would play a full game like this! Pretty intuitive controls as well.
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice inventory system, I like the turn based system and the casting felt really natural. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback!
As someone who has a passionate hate for complete darkness, especially with those things lurking around, please do light up some of those corners.
Other than that, it was a fun game to play.
I hadn't thought of that! Thanks for the feedback
Interesting concept, very creative
Thanks for playing!
Great idea and result!
Firstly i would like to talk about cons. There are some minor bugs. Once you have picked up a spell sometimes it collides with another and it doesnt go to your inventory, it stays in your hand. This is fixable ingame by picking it from one hand whit the other. The scrolls stack to close sometimes you cant read them.
Okay and now the good things.
From tutorial to end this is a really enjoyable well build experience. The mechanic of taking turns is so intricate and requires concentration. 3D Assets were great, music was adecuate, the animations were amazing. I really enjoyed watching the enemies flying arround me. I love the fact of looking for spells arround the environment. Definitely, a really good game. Congrats!
Thanks for the feedback!
I really like the concept of this one !
I think the tutorial was a little bit easy to fail and without a restart button I had to manually restart the game a couple of times. It also was very dark in some sports which let to some confusion but other than that I was a great atmosphere and fun to play.
I can totally see this working with some more fleshed out mechanics (spells, enemies, etc.)
The feeling of holding the spell scroll and then casting it was really nice. Good job !
Ah! I made a thing to restart if you cast in the wrong spot in the tutorial but it got busted on the final build T_T Thanks for pointing it out! And thanks for the feedback!
Ah too bad,
good to know that this was not intended :)
Really cool concept, I liked it a lot! That final room was super satisfying :)
Thanks for playing!
