I like the concept a lot! Execution is alright - one really easy thing that would help a lot is to make the dice you click to reroll vertical instead of horizontal. I kept getting confused whether the left dice would do the top row or the bottom row and would mess up my pieces. Some people might find the clicking and arrow keys at the same time too difficult to manage, but I think the dice fall slow enough that it's no big deal. Nice work!

thx the Preview is already rotated to fit the space left but i will consider your idea when i refactor that. Thx for letting me know. I’m already excited about the votings

My only problem with it is that I’m just too small-brained to do very good at it, but super cool game!

Developer

thx, it’s really hard i know. But maybe i can enlarge the board a bit so you have more time to roll the dices

Great idea! So interesting to make the pieces using dice rolls. I kept forgetting to change the shape of the pieces but it's interesting to have two things to focus on.

Developer

haha that happened to everyone i guess . Thx for your feedback <3

Your game is made with godot? Can you recommend learning it

This is a really cool idea! I think the implementation of the dice mechanic is really well done. I think that as a tetris game, some of the behavior could be better. The rotation isn't ideal, and even after rerolling for my next piece, I wished there was a hard drop. Overall, quite polished for a jam game, and I had fun time playing it.

Developer

hey Constantine , thx for your warm words. This is my first game and I was a bit overwhelmed creating it with react.js 🤓 what engine did you use for your game?

Someone actually made the dice tetris game lmaoo, we had this idea too but just decided there wasn't really a way to make it interesting.
But this is interesting, and also odddd.
It's tricky to get into the habit of rolling your pieces, but once you do it kind of feels overpowered to be able to just get the piece you want whenever. It'd probably be too much, but working it so somehow the sides of the die matter could be interesting, like you can only clear rows with the same face, but that kinda sounds impossible lmao.
Another issue I think is that the concept of this doesn't scale well with increasing difficulty since you kind of have to rely on being able to have time to set up the pieces.
Idunno, I appreciate the take on it but unfortunately I don't think dice tetris will be the new hotness.
Good job though!

Developer

hi, i tried my best ☺️ there is much space for optimizations, agree.

I really liked this game! The color palette and art were so cute and clean, nice visuals :)

Developer

thx. Check out nes.css.

Pretty cool game! I liked the twist that you have to focus on two things at the same time! Personally I would say its better to make the dice reroll buttons somewhere on the keyboard, as you have to switch between the mouse and keyboard rn, which makes it a bit inconvieniant, but overall great stuff!

Developer

good idea! Thx for sharing.

Hey this is pretty cool, some of those shapes were a real struggle to place! As Ragtag mentioned it took a minute to get used to re-rolling and placing at the same time. Also thanks for explaining what pip means at the end, I was getting confused as to why so many games had 'pip' in the name haha.

Developer

haha 😅 glad you liked it. I learned the meaning of it some days ago on reddit r/programmerHumor , coincidence?

Very cool and original take on the theme! Trying to position the falling block AND reroll the next block at the same time broke my brain a little (in a good way!) Great stuff!

Developer(+1)

what did you do to rest your brain afterwards?

Play and rate more games lol

Very cool Game.
Quite challenging but after a few bad tries I managed to use the rolling in my favor.
Its important to use to time to re-roll the next tile.

My Highscore was about 240 or so.

Developer

haha nice Video and good strategy! Thx for sharing

Fun game but a little to hard, also music and sfx would be great

Developer

hi,thx for the feedback! what’s your higscore?

Submitted(+1)

My higscore was 105

outstanding Variant of tetris with dices! I Love the Fact, that There are Not only Blocks, instead They are out of Numbers! Very Smart! 5 out of 5 Amazon-Stars!

Developer

glad you enjoyed it. What is your highscore?

Clever idea for a game! I agree with the other people that it's a bit much to do both actions simultaneously. Maybe flip between the two as time goes on? The art looks great, but it would be nice to have some sort of rolling animation for the dice. Nice job!

Developer

hi. Totally agree : animations are missing. Did the Game with react.js and that make it hard to implement. Lessons learned for next time

I like the concept, but damn I'm not good at this. Maybe make the maximum number less than 6? It gets quite chaotic.

Developer

haha yes 6 is for high roller. Just used it because of the 6 sided die. Next version is maybe more balanced and the number of pips of the die varies depending on the difficulty chosen

Submitted

The idea is good but the execution is not good at all

Its not really fun to rotate and reroll at the same time

Developer(+1)

thx for letting me know - maybe i should declare this as single-pc-coop : player 1 controls the movement whereas player 2 uses the mouse to craft the missing pieces…. Haha i hear them yelling at each other already
