This was actually extremely nice! I loved the idea and the sound, and the puzzle where challenging and fun! I’ve finished the game pretty easily, but I felt smart while doing it, so great job! Maybe the best entry in this jam!

Nice little puzzle platformer. I do really like the idea of limiting how many times the player can jump, though I do wish there were a way to get some more as we play; maybe string a few extra hearts off the beaten path if a player is stuck repeating a particularly challenging level?

Also, I'd really enjoy seeing this concept with levels that challenge players to make as few jumps as possible, rewarding them for hanging on to their supply of lives (i.e. jumps) and make them feel smarter and more skilled for doing so (for e.g. look up challenge videos of platforming games where lets players challenge themselves to beat a Mario game without using the jump button).

Also, being down to one life just means that as soon as I jump, it's an instant death. I'd prefer it if instead, I died as soon as I landed back on the ground after jumping or if I tried to execute a double jump in mid-air. I feel like a lot of badass "clutch" moments could occur from that possibility of "They only have one more jump, will they make it??"

This was really cute and used the theme nicely. I had fun figuring out the levels.

It is a pretty nice game. I enjoyed the progression, and the idea of introducing different elements as you go on works well. It is pretty impressive what you were able to achieve on your own!

Super fun little game. Simple artwork 100% solid and pleasing. Everything works well and I loved the challenge. Not sure i'd change a thing. Kudos

Loved the take you had on the theme and gameplay elements! While small, the lightbulb moments that came with understanding some of the mechanics was exciting and rewarding! I didn't realize until rereading the description that the end of each level was meant to be gold cat, I ended up thinking it as a mound of cat food, but could still understand it being the objective.

Great work!

Very neat little experience, explored very concisely! I laughed when read the premise! A nice subversion of a genre all about jumping. I especially liked the part where you had to just walk on the spikes rather than avoiding them completely. Big "Ohh!" moment

Lovely game! I really enjoy puzzle-platformers, the simple art style was a perfect fit, made it super clear what was happening and looked super polished.

As others have mentioned, pressing retry each time you die felt unnessecary, but it wasn’t a big deal.

I also put in blocks that switch when you jump into my entry, but your use of them was far better than mine! The introduction and exploration of the mechanics was nicely done.

Great job!

What a cute and unique interpretation of the theme! A precision platformer where every jump you make costs a heart. The level and mechanic design compliments this concept to great execution, and I had fun playing to the last level. My only gripe is jumping against a wall slows the cat's jump, and took me a frustrating minute til I realised what was happening. I don't know if was an oversight or intentional, but I didn't think it was necessary.

I enjoyed this demo, well done!

Developer

Thanks for trying out my game! And yes, being slowed while jumping against the wall is an oversight that I plan to fix. So far the solution seems to elude me, frustratingly.

Awesome game, the use of the theme is really intelligent and the level design behind the main mechanic is really, really good. I've only one bug report to help, when you jump near a wall, there is friction and the character doesn't jump as high, dunno if a feature, but looked like a bug xD

All in all one of my jam favourites until now! And just a one man army team in the development. Congrats!

Developer

Glad to hear my levels were fun to play! I totally didnt just smash stuff together and hoped it would work and yeah, you shouldn't be slowed when jumping near a wall, I'll try to get that bug fixed :P

Another cat game! Hello! Took me a moment to realise I was losing lives with every jump but I really enjoyed this.
Very nicely done!

Developer

Yooo a fellow cat game :D I'll definitely be checking that out!

Great game!!! Liked the gameplay and sound effects particularly. If you don't mind, can you check out my game?

Developer

Thanks! And yeah, I'll be going through and rating most if not all of the games over the next few days!

Such a cute game!!! Really great use of the theme, and the art really ties it all together
The only thing I could think of adding is maybe an auto-retry function so that the player can get back to playing more quickly after dying?
Great job and good luck :)

Thank you! Also that feedback is really good, and is a feature I'll definitely consider for my future games
